1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is your biggest fear concerning your dolls?

Oct 3, 2011

    1. My fear is that the ones that haven't arrived, will arrive to me in a horrid box and missing parts. My other fear is that I'll drop my doll(s) on concrete and break their faces.... Dx Another fear is that their clothing will stain them. That's why my boy is wearing like... Underwear, white leggings then his pants.

    2. My biggest fears when it comes to my dolls is losing them in a train/bus/public area, my cats chewing and scratching on their heads (bodies can be easily replaced, heads not so much..) and having someone steal them. I'm the kind of person that checks every 5 minutes if I still have my bag, phone, wallet and whatnot with me, but even so I managed to forget my phone on a train once. Thankfully I was able to get it back, but imagine that being a doll and NOT being able to get it back :o.. I'm also scared of loosing my dolls in a housefire. My home insurance should cover the loss, but some dolls are really hard to get :(. And no insurance can cover the emotional attachment you have to the doll.

Ah, I almost forgot dolls getting lost in transit.. I work at the customer service of the Dutch postal company, so I deal with lost packages every day. I'm so grateful that I never lost a package *knocks on wood*, but it could happen. And when the package is not insured you have nothing. No doll, no money, nothing.

Being scammed is also one of my fears, but I don't know if that counts :P.

    3. dropping them and getting lost in the postal service.

    4. heat and staining, mostly my DD's in summer

    5. My worst fear happened recently. My boyfriend broke up with me over the doll I was getting two months ago, Nadine, when she hadn't even come in yet. Then last week I had a new friend over to hang out and they took one look at my doll and just walked out. I haven't heard from them since. I never knew joining a lovely hobby like this would bring so much rejection into my life.

The sickest part today was my ex saw photos of my doll today on facebook and actually loved it, asking if he could play with it and stuff. :/
Like don't break up with me over a doll and then fall in love with it. UGH maybe he was just using poor Nadine as an excuse ...

    6. Theft is my biggest fear, but it's not really something I'm actively worried about on a regular basis. It is, however, the one thing that would seriously dampen my enjoyment. If my dolls were stolen, one of them would be extremely difficult to replace. That said, I don't really expect anyone to break into my house specifically to target the dolls...but it's within the realm of possibility.

    7. Stains! No no stains. No no. Just no to stains.

    8. My greatest fears are Fire, Flood, and Hurricanes. I live in South FL so I deal with the last 2 ALL THE TIME. One year I had to pack up my bunch in their boxes (I have 8) and cart them, wrapped in trash bags, to my Mom's for a hurricane that was due to hit us. I also use candles a lot at home (I love scented things) and I make SURE I blow them out before I leave. I don't think anyone would break into my house to steal them, they'd more likely to take my laptop, tv, and PS3 first. Which is funny since my BJD in total are worth more than all that combined....

    9. My dogs getting my dolls is my biggest fear. I really want to get a glass-fronted cabinet to keep them safe. At the moment the dolls are up high, but nothing much stops a really determined greyhound...

    10. I'm afraid of damaging other people's dolls... I don't think I'd ever be able to live it down if I accidentally damaged someone's doll at a meetup or something. And I don't know how faceup/mod artists do it, I'd be so scared of messing them up while they're in my care... I'm really careful and I've never done any damage to my own dolls or anyone else's but accidents can always happen x___x

Other than that, like everyone else says, stuff like dolls getting stolen or destroyed in a disaster are scary thoughts... I'm also scared of pets chewing them up!!! I've heard a lot of horror stories of dogs chewing up dolls and it's terrible... Not only is the doll damaged but it's dangerous for your pets too!

    11. Breaking someone else's doll ;;. Especially when its like a limited time one and no longer made xDD ;;;;;

    12. My biggest fear is sending my boy away for a face-up. Which is really upsetting me right now, because, he needs one. As my character, there are some small adjustments that he needs, but I can't bring myself to risk putting him in the post. If anything happened, I'm not in a financial situation to make it right, and I'd just be devastated. So for now, no face-up.

    13. I don't know how long face-ups are supposed to last.. My bjd is about three years old and I'm afraid of it chipping and I'll have to send her away somewhere to get it redone.

    14. for me , should be staining....:o

    15. I went through a bad breakup, with fighting, moving out and everything and my biggest fears since then are:
Someone taking and hiding my Dolls and/or intentionally breaking them. :...(

      • x 1
    16. My biggest fear is fire : / Also secondly, if my dolls ever fell off my dressers, my dogs would get to them and they would probably be in chewed up pieces x_x; I always make sure for this reason to keep them in poses where they are very unlikely to topple over onto the floor. *shivers*

    17. I afraid of something bad would happen to my dolls but I guess what scares me the most is my parents find out how much I spend on the dolls . :sweat

    18. I think for me, the biggest fear I have is that I might buy a secondhand doll and have it turn out to be a bootleg. :( When it comes to fires or natural disasters, I'd be far more concerned about my cat, because dolls can be replaced but he can't.

And it's not a concern anymore, but when I had roommates in the past, I did have some concerns toward the end about them just throwing my dolls away. One of them claimed to be "afraid of dolls" (whether she was or wasn't, I can't say, as she could be a bit dramatic at times), and both had a very bad habit of not respecting my boundaries--a good amount of my kitchen supplies were tossed by them, for instance, and at one point they threw a large amount of my property (including my laptop computer) out on the porch because they were "mad." So tossing my dolls in the garbage when I was away at work? Definitely something I could see them doing. :shudder

    19. My biggest fear is the war. Sometimes by irrational reasons. Once a time Pyongyang announced a nuclear test and I bought one doll. Ok. Few hours after the doll arrival a blood bubble erupted inside my mount and I discovered a lot of skin blemishes in my body. I had vomit and horrible dizziness. :shudder I believed that radioactive box was killing me. But no... I’m allergic of açaí – a kind of Brazilian ice cream – and had my first vasculitis crisis because of that. At the same time I had labyrinthitis because of the vasculitis crisis. I will never celebrate doll arrivals eating exotic ice cream again. :mwahaha

Now I need to give my apologies to the innocent doll. :sorry

    20. Definitely worried that one of my cats is gonna knock them over and break their nose or something :'(
