1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is your biggest fear concerning your dolls?

Oct 3, 2011

    1. The thread don't hold. I bought those hoping they would work.

    2. Aw, dang. >_<

    3. I still take her with me on trips to hobby stores or road trips in hopes that I find some that has a small screw to compare.:dance

    4. Sounds like a good idea. Always be on the lookout! Good luck!

    5. I'm always afraid that my dolls will be lost in the mail or being damaged. I'm also pretty terrified when it comes to my cat being near my dolls :O

    6. I'm scared of buying a doll and it being either lost in transit or stolen.:( It freaks me out! I'm also scared of making a mistake while doing a faceup and staining my doll.

    7. My fear would be my doll falling on their face and something broke.. (on their face nose/ears etc) or for my dolls to get stolen.. would be really heartbreaking to me. :atremblinLost with the post would also be really sad..

    8. Kinda weird but...sometimes I worry that my doll secretly dislikes me? :P I've just always thought of all my dolls as living things and really wanna treat them well...

    9. My biggest fear is paying for a doll and having the company fold and I loose the money and the doll! I've seen it happen over the years.Thankfully it's rare, but lately it is making me rethink long wait times and prefer secondhand. Which by what I've read, other's are fearful of buying a doll and it is lost or stolen in the mail. Ugh, no more thinking, lol.

    10. I worry the doll might not be big enough to hold my soul. Also what if the doll isn't near by when I'm dying. This keeps me up at night. I'm thinking about just carrying the doll around where ever I go. Life is crazy. We got people gunning each other down, terrorist doing terror, nuclear plants failing, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.

    11. My biggest fear like many have said if they are caught in a fire. I swear I'd get my animals out first & grab as many of my dolls as I could get my hands on!

    12. I had experience with our house burning everything we owned when I was in High School and until this day, I'm still afraid of fires. I'm afraid I won't be able to save all my dolls if it happens again.

    13. I have a Viridian House doll and my biggest fear is that I chip her face up. Caroline has quit taking commissions and I could not get her fixed if that were to happen.

    14. My worst fear is I'll get a doll and wont bond with them. I take time to pick out dolls and try to avoid impulses for this reason. Normally if I keep coming back the sculpt I know I can create a character that will work but there have been dolls i cant find a character for yet i like them.

    15. That one of my granddaughters/nieces/family friend's kids will go up and open the cabinet to look at them, and either damage the dolls themselves or leave the cabinet door open and one of my doggies will get upstairs and chew. :(

    16. I think i'm most afraid of my dolls one day yellowing or turning discolored. I know it happens to all of them, even the best kept ones but I just don't want them to change in anyway  I also tend to send my dolls to many places (some very far places) to get their faceups. I've sent some within the US, some to China and even Russia so I always worry that they might get lost, but thankfully that hasn't happened! (knock on wood haha).

    17. My biggest fear would probably be me getting so financially in a bind that I would be, in some way or another, forced to sell my dolls. The very thought just breaks my heart right in two and nearly makes me cry. These boys are my therapy, and losing them, even if I knew they would be well taken care of, would feel like losing a big part of myself that I could never get back.

    18. This is a fear of mine also. So far I have not had a problem, as I have been allowed to keep them in carry-on luggage and under my watchful eye. One shuttle driver however, turned out to be the most careless baggage handler, and I swear mistreated my luggage just to spite me. I was mortified at watching the case my doll was in get thrown, shoved and piled on.

    19. Mine would definitely also be if my house somehow caught fire and I lost my dolls. Of course my pets would be my first priority in such a situation, so there's no way I could save a doll. It would be so devastating though, and that worry always seems to creep into my mind.

    20. Personally, my biggest fear about the dolls is to become totally indifferent about them - considering the amount of space they are taking it'd be a big problem for me :) I'm not afraid of the dolls getting broken, as there is no reason for them to brake - I don't take them out or play with them a lot.
