1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is your biggest fear concerning your dolls?

Oct 3, 2011

    1. My greatest fear is damage to to the Florida climate compounded by the fact that I simply cannot set my AC below 78. Her eyelashes are coming off, I have to figure out how to get them back on.
I've only taken my doll out once, to meet up with xyzKitty.

    2. To let them fall during a shooting or just the aging process of my dolls :/

    3. Spending too much money on them, and then just letting them sit.

    4. I'm afraid of my doll taking me to bankruptcy! She is totally and unreasonably demanding and insists I stay up late every night looking for new stuff for her on Etsy etc! This evening she has asked for new eyes!

    5. I'm afraid of them coming to life. I've been hearing stories about them moving, and every time you look at them, they are positioned differently, Yikes!!!

    6. Definitely my worst doll fear would be about natural disaster or fire destroying them. :( I don't know what I'd do, because they're so special to me and some would be really difficult to replace. I'm also worried about them being stolen or destroyed if my house gets broken into.

    7. My biggest fear is losing my dolls in some sort of house fire or theft.

    8. A lot :
      *The face up getting scratched
*the stings becoming lose (idk how to restring)
      *Thief
      * dog might piss on them when I’m not looking
*my friend grabbing them again and hold them
As if he’s shaking a demonic child cause last time this room mate shook my doll too much for no reason and her wig fell a couple of times and he just stick it back like it was nothing)
*fire (idk if I’d be able to save them all)
      Typhoon
      Tornado

All these calamities cause idk man , like which one do I save first , cash , bag collection , my clothes , my dolls , my pets or will
I panic and just run ? Haha

    9. My biggest fear for dolls I already have is an earthquake strong enough to knock them off my bookshelf and onto the hardwood floor or a wildfire (especially living in CA). x.x

    10. I worry about my cats also when I have them out. Especially if I am combing a wigs. My goku likes to be combed also lol! So, he trys to get the comb. My sakura really doesn't bother them after she initially smelled them.
I do have them in a closed room when I am not playing with them. I plan on getting a glass case for them in the future.

    11. My biggest fear would be accidentally dropping my dolls, scratching the face up, and natural disasters hitting.

    12. Aside from the physical fears of ruining my dolls’ face ups and/or dropping them, I think my biggest fear is actually the rejection from my family/friends. It’s probably an unfounded fear but I feel like my family already judges my other interests and hobbies so I feel like it would be devastating for them to comment on my new hobby collecting bjds. It’s not like they are intentionally unkind but a throwaway comment about how I’m an adult and should be doing other things with my time/money is not something that really boosts the self esteem. I shouldn’t let it get to me but it still hurts.

    13. My biggest fear is loosing interest in the hobby again. When I was first in the hobby, there was a larger community to share your bjd's with and have fun. Though over the years I've seen event he most dedicated people leave the hobby/have no interest in pursuing their dolls.

    14. I'm afraid of accidentally breaking their hands, or my dad wanting to look at them. He has a tendency to break other people's things and has dirty hands (he's a mechanic) so I hate when he wants to look at new things I buy.

    15. The biggest fear for me would probs be breaking one of my dolls doll and having the part be irreplaceable (Whether it be too rare, expensive, retired etc). A specific example would probs be accidentally breaking /chipping my Woosoo bjd (such as one of her fingers)- since fairyland tan shades tend to vary slightly, would be a real hassle trying to find her replacement hands !!

    16. Definitely breaking them. I feel bad when something breaks that I don't even care about. I couldn't imagine how bad I would feel if I broke something I cherish so much.

    17. Fear that my doll faceup chips or the doll himself! Not liking a custom faceup!

    18. I'm terrified that once I finally spend the money to get a doll and maybe a custom faceup, it'll end up somehow getting completely destroyed. Or someone wants to see them and ends up breaking or stealing them. Either for their own collection or to sell online or something.
Just the usual paranoias of absolute horror one can endure in any hobby concerning collectibles and stuff.

    19. So far, my biggest fear is staining and yellowing. I like dark colors. I like my windows wide open for my plants. I am having ahard time reconciling all my planting hobby with having my dolls out!

    20. My biggest fear would be breaking them.
I can't say I'm as careful with them as I used to be when I started in the hobby (I was more afraid than careful) but I think I am within normal parameters of carefulness.
Nowadays, as a consequence of years of handling and changing clothes and strings, some of them have little imperfections (like little marks in the resin) and they do not bother me but I know I couldn't stand if a finger or a nose would break. Not all my dolls are limited but it is always a nightmare to get small replacement parts.
