1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is your biggest fear concerning your dolls?

Oct 3, 2011

    1. My biggest fear is that something will happen to them. They are my treasure, we have weather threats all the time and it’s scary. So my fear it’s too big that I ended up insuring them, I hope I will never have to file a claim

aren’t they insured when they get mailed to you?

    4. Losing my doll collection to a natural disaster like a tornado, or a house fire. Really should look into getting my collection insured.:shudder

    5. I'm always worried about a fire or disaster destroying them...
Also... when I go on trips, I fear a break in and they would be stolen.
I know its odd but I feel compelled to hug them and hide them in a safe place before I leave. Which I do.:aheartbea

    6. Yeah, this one fear. That it would be lost after buying. Or, like the situation with Dollshe, awaiting will be for years and no any chance to do something about it (

    7. So, back in 2019 my biggest fear was a doll getting under insured or under declared in the mail.

I have recently bought a home. I now understand homeowners insurance and how almost impossible it would be to properly claim my dolls in the case of a fire or natural disaster.

I am TERRIFIED of losing my collection to a fire or natural disaster because I would not be able to afford to replace them.

    8. So - for those afraid of being unable to replace your dolls (in the US) - look into a collectibles rider on your homeowners or renters insurance policy. You can choose replacement cost or original cost. This is just my opinion, but I always suggest replacement cost insurance.
You're going to want to start a database/spreadsheet of the dolls you own, what you paid for them, and if any info is available, how much it would cost to replace your current doll. If that means buying a doll at an increased price AND paying a faceup artist to fix the faceup - that's replacement cost.

    9. I'm going through my worst fear right now. I choose UPS to ship a doll from Japan, and I have a tracking number that hasn't moved in four weeks.

    10. Getting broken, lost in the mail...or having to evacuate from a fire and not being able to grab everyone in time to make sure they're safe from harm. I live in California which is like a constant fire watch zone all the time...so it can be stressful always worrying about if I'd be able to get them to safety along with pets and family.
