1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is your biggest fear concerning your dolls?

Oct 3, 2011

    1. Don't think I've responded yet, but losing them in a fire. I have over 80 and that'll be a pain to carry them out, or toss them out a window.

    2. I recently broke one of my girl's hands. It happened so fast when I was trying to take some measurements for a dress. She flopped forward and snapped her fingers off on my desk. Her replacements just came in and she's all better but I'm still kind of shaken up because I felt so bad about it. I've hardly touched either of my girls since except to maybe just hold or brush a wig.

    3. Fire, being smashed/damaged beyond repair, theft, lost in the mail and a bad modification that can't be repaired are what I think of off the top of my head. Of course, I haven't read this thread yet, so these might already be listed. :sweat

Hands can be replaced, so that doesn't worry me. After a bad fall where Ryuichi (CP/Luts OE Shiwoo/FL F60 hybrid) broke three of his fingers when he was still on his Delf body, it was the perfect excuse to ask InuYasha, my SO for jointed hands! :)

*goes to read rest of thread*

      Edit:
awwwww!:( Try to not let that fear prevent you from enjoying your dolls, okay?

      Ryu

    4. My biggest fear is modification gone wrong, because then it will be my own fault! I'd hate for any damage, but if it was my fault I couldn't bear it!

    5. My biggest fear is like everyone elses, fire or some other cause. I have to say though, at the moment my biggest fear is that I won't be able to sell the ones I have up on the marketplace because of their brand >.< It's stupid and I still love them, but I want to slim down my collection but that is all that is running through my mind at the moment.

    6. I'd have to agree with the majority that damage is my biggest fear. All of my dolls are precious to me but some are far more precious than others because replacing them would be difficult. I have one doll in particular that, even if I replaced her, it wouldn't be the same doll.
This particular doll is the one that matters most in my collection; she was mistreated and mishandled by someone whom I trusted who was supposed to do work for my doll and ever since then I haven't had her out of the house for any reason. It's been well over a year now, I think actually two years. It taught me a lesson in that the safest place for my dolls is home. I don't really go to meets anymore and if I take dolls out for photos it's only my tiny dolls, the ones that can be more easily replaced should anything happen to them while out.

    7. I'm mostly afraid of my dolls falling and shattering. Yellowing doesn't scare me as it's a natural occurrence, and body blushing and faceups can be fixed...but the thought of my doll breaking. UGH.

    8. I agree, yellowing doesn't scare me. I have a couple that are pretty yellowed, and I plan on dyeing them back to a more Normal Skin color once I get a few extra dollars. But breaking and fire scares the S#** out of me!

I am working on a spread sheet to eventually insure them just in case anything happens, but most of them are irreplaceable, either because they're Minimees and one of "_" number in the world, Limiteds or because they were given to me by dear friends.

Too bad insurance companies can't give you their true value, but how do you get paid for "priceless?"

      Ryu

    9. My biggest fear concerning my dolls is that the got damaged in some way or another. If its from falling or taking them with me.

    10. either losing parts or causing unfixable damage somewhere thats visible. thats why mizuho usually always stays at home

    11. A broken or cracked part... Having someone throw it across the room... Have it come to live and act possessed. Messing up on the faceup is my overall fear.

    12. One of my biggest doll fear is having a major part broken in a way that couldn't be replaced. One of my doll has a broken finger, but that's easy to fix or hands are also easy to replace, but I wouldn't like to have a broken head or a broken limb piece because those would be much harder to replace.

    13. Damage. I feel really scared that I'm accidentally going to drop my BJD's or they're going get dirty and its not going to come out and things like that

    14. I have an Iplehouse oYID Ryushin that I just absolutely adore. He's my fave, and I hope he'll stay with me for a very long time!

Now, the thing that worries me most is for something to happen to either the doll or even the default faceup... Because now, the oYID line from Iplehouse are now discontinued.
If something ever DID happen, I'm going to have a very difficult time trying to replace him... and I'll be even less likely to find an other Ryushin head sculpt with that default faceup that I love so much T_T

    15. If someone thinks dolls are silly and then decides to smash them all up and throw them away.

    16. That my husband will find out how much ive spent on them :o

    17. I guess...I'm scared someone might take them away...Or break them...

    18. my biggest fear is that they will all fall limp at the same time like a used old bra!

    19. XD I'm sorry but that made me laugh so hard the way you worded it.

    20. I am most afraid my FIRST doll will never arrive! I ordered a couple of weeks ago..(I know that is not long ago). I understand what you are saying about the cats, that is a fear of mine also.
