1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is your favorite doll size and why

Jan 14, 2010

    1. i like the MSD size better because to me, its just the perfect size for a doll. i dont want a doll that is too big because it makes it harder to store it somewhere and more difficult to play with. also i really like the more innocent doll look better. im not sure if i will ever buy a mature looking doll...

    2. i love MSD sized dolls :3
Im a very small person, so anything larger just looks silly when i carry it, plus none really apeal to me in the larger sizes ^>^

    3. For BJD's 60 and below are my choice.

    4. my favourite size is definitely 60cms/SD sized without a doubt. theyre nice and big but still rather childish by design. the 70cms tend to have a more mature look that i dont like as much. i dont mind MSDs as long as theyre not too small. i dislike YoSDs quite a lot simply because theyre too small to really do anything with and the price tag rivals that of the bigger dolls

    5. Tiny dolls particularly favor 1/12 size tiny's but i love all tiny dolls there just so small and cute. There also really easy to take places!

    6. Weirdly it's 65cm. It's huge and bulky but I love the weight of them. But they are really akward to travel with. I bought my first tiny and I love him because I can take him everywhere with me but I do miss sitting with that huge weight on my lap. My BID is really small so I sit him in front of my rather than on my lap. I'm gonna try JIDs in the new year so see if I can have the best of both worlds. ;)

    7. I love something between SD and YOSD, that is in common sense MSD, i only want to expend my family on this size, i stopped buying 1/6 size dolls and leave any SD size to my second choice, i'm not getting any larger than SD size doll

    8. SDs and up. Mostly because I like to feel if I am going to spend that much on a doll, I may as well get something huge.

    9. I started in the miniatures world before moving onto BJDs so I always knew I wouldn't start with the larger dolls. I have 3 MSDs and so far they are perfect for me. I've played with larger and smaller dolls at a couple doll meets. I adore the tinies and I definitely plan on having a couple of my own, but so far I'm not too interested in anything bigger than MSDs right now.

    10. I've ended up liking <=1/6 and >=50cm. For some reason MSD sizes haven't really appealed to me. Not sure why, but it's probably related to the size of dolls I had when I was a child.

    11. I love tinies. My favourites are pukifees! I also love the 20cm size (like Lati Y SP), but it is quite rare. Basically anything 30cm is good for me. If the doll is bigger, it's not for me, no matter how beautiful.

    12. SD's without a doubt.

    13. I'm also most fascinated by big dolls, nothing under 58 cm is interesting for me to own (with one exception, I'd like to own Iplehouse Peekaboo and Luts Tiny Delf Louis someday). The feel of a large doll is just so much more overwelming than the little ones. And, I guess that the fact that I've just experienced big dolls properly has an impact on my view.

    14. I only have one doll so far & chose a 65cm. She needs a companion of similar size. Following that, I would like to get a slightly smaller bjd perhaps in the 45cm range.

    15. That's a tough one! I like different sizes for different things. Msd for cuddles, yosd for pictures, tinies for dioramas etc. But if I had to pick I guess yosd. It's great to snuggle, get cute less expensive clothes for, take great pics, and they are a great travel size. Not too big and not too small. Love 'em!!!!

    16. My favorite size would have to be MSDs, I realy like SDs but amSDs are just a perfect size for me.

    17. I have found EID women to be the perfect size for me for sewing outfits and photography.

    18. MSDs and Tinies for me. I've just always liked small dolls and miniatures.
There are a lot of SD sized sculpts I really like but I know I wouldn't be happy if I got them because they're so big.

    19. SDs - generally SD+ 65-75cm at the moment - It's so much easier to find mature looking sculpts that I like in this size range! They have a nice heft to them at that height as well. I adore my 60cm though but he just seems kind of ...short compared to the others!

    20. MSDs for me. I guess because they are easy to carry and don't take up all of the space... But I'm starting to like SD more and more...
