What is your favorite doll size and why

Jan 14, 2010

    1. My favorite are the "little" ones, MSD ,Yo-sd and tinies because they are more easier for me to handle and carrying them , I found the SD size are beautiful but too big for me !

    2. I have mostly SDs, but I prefer MSDs and tinies (YO-SD range, not teeny-tinies :sweat) because they're just flat-out easier to handle and require less space than larger dolls. Too bad I love so many SD-sized sculpts!

    3. Well, it depends ... To manipulate, to make clothes, to take pictures, I really prefer the SDs. But to carry outside, since I didnt find carriages big enough for them (68 cm), I prefer to take my MSD or my smaill one (32 cm). But I feel a little frustrated with the photos...

    4. I love the cuddliness of my 68cm but she's a pain in the but to work with photographs. I shooould be getting an MSD soon and we'll see then! I love the handiness of my off topic, smaller dolls (Pullips, I think they're YoSD size?) so I think I'll really like the MSD size. I'm afraid of loosing cuddlines though D:

    5. My favourite doll size is SD (58cm thereabouts), cos they are the perfect size to cuddle. :D

    6. I have a 60cm girl but just ordered a 26cm girl but soon will be ordering some in the range of 45cm...plus a few more 60cm's. I must admit at first I didn't want a small doll but I met a friends doll that was quite tiny and they're so cute I couldn't resist. Plus the price being lower makes it feel like I'm getting a bargain.

    7. YoSD...definite fave size. I like to design and make clothes. Yos are big enough to make complex detailed pieces but not so big that they take lots of fabric AND I had my fingers pinched by butt joints when my SDs flopped over too many times! LOLLLL

    8. I prefer MSD's but I might get an SD or Tiny, someday, if I saw one that really caught my attention. Otherwise, SD's are too big and anything smaller than an MSD is just too small to me.

    9. For me I prefer Yo-SD size and SD size (60cm-70cm). In my opinion I think Yo-Sd was like a kid size they do really adorable (in person) lol and very fun to play with. For SD size I like an adult life to me and i do like it too, just different of size is also like different of ages as well :D

    10. I like MSD's and SD's more than tinies

    11. For me it has to be Yo-SD or smaller MSD. I have seen SD (50-60cm) dolls irl, and I just can't imagine having one. I don't have that much space!

    12. I have mainly MSD and some YoSD. I prefer MSD because they're lighter and easier to handle in my opinion, YoSD is too small for them to be my favorite. I like more mature sculpts so I tend to find myself looking at SDs but MSDs are still my favorite.

    13. So, personally, I've never owned anything bigger than 71cm or smaller than 58 cm. However, I've seen many kinds of smaller dolls at meet-ups (and this increased my interest in them a lot). I'd say I like different sizes for different reasons:

I love how substantial the 70cm sizes feel, and the scale is more forgiving for details (clothing, face-ups, etc.), but they are not all that portable.
The 65-58cm range is more portable, and is easier to shop for, but feels a bit less spectacular.
MSDs, Yos, and Tinies strike me as adorable, super portable, and tending towards being less expensive. But sewing & face-upping for them is harder.

    14. So far the MSDs seem a perfect size though I have ordered some tinies as well. It is because I want to be able to display my dolls and the bigger ones seem to big and look too old for my taste.

    15. I've had the same problem! ;;3;; my SSDF pinched my fingers with his torso a couple of times and it hurts!! that's one of the reasons I prefer posing smaller dolls...

    16. I have had all sizes of dolls For some reason i have become attracted to the big dolls. 68 to 73 are my new loves. I find the big dolls lend themselves to many more poses for photography. Also a large doll takes up about as much room as a MSD, horizontally, it's the vertical that takes the room!

    17. I have had all sices too, but I prefer MSD, 40-45cm more or less. You can have adults or childs. Volks MSD are more like than childrens, Souldoll MSD are more like adults...etc.
They're easier to transport and pose, and have a lot of clothes, shoes and accessories.
When I put my MSD with my SD, I see the SD giants and I don't like how they look in size . It's for this reason that couples MSD girl and SD boy don't like.

    18. I am in love with the tiniest ones because my very 1st collection was made of Calico Critters/Sylvanian families sets so I needed to find some little dollies that could suit their scale the best, the smaller the better :) (9.8 cms Lati white, LLT puzzelf, DHS Piko they all fit perfectly fine )

    19. All my dolls are 70cm or more with the exception of one MSD who happens to be a child. I love big dolls. I think they're easier to handle and easier to photograph. They are, however, a pain to lug to doll meets. My Mega Gem hybrid is like a brick. So I certainly see the appeal of smaller dolls!

    20. Personally, I think SD's are too big and too expensive for me to handle right now. Tiny dolls also have the same amount of joints, which in my opinion, makes them look a little odd? I have seen some very cute tiny dolls recently, though, that has changed my mind a bit on them. So I'd have to say for now, I really like MSD's! They seem to be just right for me. :)
