What is your favorite doll size and why

Jan 14, 2010

    1. I agree with you there. I especially get that feeling from the Zuzu delfs, they just seem so whimsical and bursting with a story to tell.

    2. SDs have always been my favorite size. I don't own one just yet, but I am always drawn to them right away.

    3. i think SD will be my favorite... Just being around them at Meets, I like being able to hug a doll in my arms. Mds are nice as well :)

    4. I have almost every size, except the huge ones ( one meter ), and I prefer my SDs. Despite their weight, making them difficult to carry, they look more present, taking their room. Hum, I feel that my english is not good, but... the other sizes are cute, easy to manipulate, but... SDs are more real, more impressive.

Maybe I feel this way just because My first one was a SD...? I dont know...

    5. I like the MSD sized dolls because they're easy to carry out when going to Doll meets and things like that.
I never really thought I would be interested in getting an SD sized doll but then a ringdoll boy /really/ appealed to me T_T haha

    6. I feel drawn to the smaller dolls, anything under 60 cms really, the larger ones look nice, but I just prefer the expression and personality that come across on the smaller dolls. I am eyeing multiple dolls from a couple KDFs all the way down to a realpuki I saw on the Fairyland Website. I guess it's still a pretty wide variety of sizes still, but I can't see myself with the larger dolls. The largest would be in the 40cms range. :3

    7. SD 69+cm dolls. Before having resin bjd's i have monster high dolls and compared to SD70's they are TIIIINNY! and so very difficult (for me) to sew for. So sewing and making things for larger dolls is a dream :)
I also didn't want them to be a different size than Barbie/Monster high/Bratz dolls etc because i wanted something different from what i am used to, plus i was just drawn to their size. They maybe alot bigger and much more expensive than the smaller dolls but i think its very worth it! :)
Only downside to their size is trying to carry all my dolls, 5, to a doll meet. My arms almost fall off.

    8. Mmm... probably MSDs. I have a realpuki, 2 yosds and an MSD. I also love SD, I don't have one yet so I don't know.

    9. I felt the all sizes and is my favorite SD 53-68 cm. I really like and even bigger guys, but always end up staying in sizes up to 68 cm. The MSD is working better, but I feel empty arms are just little ... :-)

    10. SD-70 cm.

My tinies are cute, but their posing is really difficult for me and I feel very limited by their size. I also have an incredibly difficult time finding clothes and wigs that are size-appropriate. And they just feel ... too small. I adore my 70cm boy. I cuddle him and hold hands with him. I feel like I have a much easier time bonding with him snce I carry him more like a child than like a doll. I feel like I can do more with him and his posing is so freaking awesome. I like the versatility of the large dolls and I really just like how big they are.

    11. MSD size now that I have three MSD's..They're actually easier to sew for and they're cuddly.

    12. I suppose SD's are my favorite but I honestly have a hard time sticking with that statement as I find all sizes have something special to offer! That being said I mostly gravitate towards the larger sizes.;)

    13. My BJD obsession actually started out when I saw a friend's Lati Yellow (16cm). Since then, I have a crew of LYs, a blythe and a Lati Green (30cm) Ronnie.

I must say that somehow, even though I really love looking at photos of larger dolls on Flickr and elsewhere, it seems that the tinies have captured my heart.

I thought I could love an LG and I really loved the Ronnie sculpt. Still, I found it difficult to bond with my Ronnie.

She's not going anywhere, but she's not come out of her box for about a year too. So in order to spare more dolls the same sad fate of not seeing the light of day, I have not tried to get anything but LYs, in all fairness.

    14. Used to own SD only but I switched to MSD because they are smaller and I do not have much place to store boxes and stuff, it's actually easier to sew for this size plus there are so many cute models, I mean it x) (who said minifee?)
But my grail is still an SD, I'll come back to SDs one day.

    15. I like slim msd. I have had a couple sd's but they are just too big for me. Though there are so many beautiful SD's.

    16. I like BJD that are 60cm +. I would love to get the dollmore Trinity. They are 105 cm. I am probably going to put one layaway soon. The one I like is $2780.

    17. I prefer dolls from 40-80 cm :) because I can sew many clothes for them by myself. Small dolls may be a bit difficult for me to make detailed and fine clothes.

    18. I have a sweet spot for MSD sized dolls, but my heart lies with the 60-70+ ones.
(The only real problem with them, is the space they take up) ^^"

    19. MSD.
SDs too big. For me, MSDs best size for travel, they are very comfortable.
but I have two guys 70 +. the world has decided that the MSD is not my format)

    20. My favourite size so far is MSD.
I find them to be the perfect size for carrying around and they're a lot easier to change then an SD.
I like SD dolls but they're just a bit too big for me.
