1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I would say I am a dreamer first. Since many of my crew are characters from a long series of novels I have been working on and hold a very special place in my heart. I am a hobbyist because all my crafty things I do, I have applied to bjds (sewing, jewelry, drawing, painting etc). Finally I am a collector because I love hunting for clothing! Especially ancient Chinese robes or kimonos. Also collecting heads too, sometimes 2 of the same sculpt. XD

    2. I am mostly a dreamer and a little collector . I'm not good at sewing , customization and face-ups so I am not a hobbyist , but I wish I am too . :sweat

    3. I hope I will be a hobbyist one day, in the sense of creativity. But being a dreamer is my drive, no creativity without, and also no collecting.

    4. I know im a dreamer. I love creating characters and I shell some of my personal characters into my dolls. At the same time they are my children. People may not understand completely why I love them. Only someone who knows imagination and touched the BJDs before then they'd understand.

    5. Hmmm hard decision! i think im a little of all, but mostly a hobbyist/collector. I voted collector mostly because while i have wanted to sew things for my boys ive been too busy with school to actually make anything for them, and i have mostly purchased cute outfits for them to wear :) i do enjoy seeing everybodys take on each sculpt to create unique and original characters and creations. i love it!

    6. Definitely a hobbyist. No stories or characters for me. I'll let the dolls be whoever they are that day based on the materials I have on hand.
Although I don't think I'll ever get into wig, clothing, or eye making. Probably just face-ups and photos. I doubt I'd even mod.

    7. I'm a bit of a dreamer, but more of a hobbyist. Photography, customizing, and the social aspect of BJDs are hugely important to me.

    8. Have to say collector suits me the best. I am moving closer to the border of hobbyist, this really appeals to my artistic side. Theirs a sprinkle of dreamer mixed in there

    9. I enjoy the imagination aspect of the hobby :3

    10. I'm a hobbyist, nothing more. My dolls are characters but only because when I was young my mother and others always gave me kind of a hard time because I had a favorite stuffed bear, but his name was bear and he was a stuffed bear. LOL I was forced to develop him as more than that and now I do it for my dolls out of habit. But I'm just a hobbyist I love the sewing and painting and taking photos, ECT, ECT. =P

    11. I am in somewhere between hobbyist and collector.
When I was a just a beginner of this bobby, I was a dreamer.
But now.. I think I am completely a collector. Now my doll families are too many, so I can’t create the stories for them.

    12. I guess I'm 51% dreamer, 49% hobbyist. I had a really hard time picking just one ... my dolls are the avatars of characters that have been hanging out in my headspace for almost 20 years! I'm dreaming (see what I did there?) of turning my clumsy writing into photostories too, but my photography skills are somewhere in-between nonexistent and abysmal, so ... yeah. Not gonna happen soon. :sweat But I am doing my own faceups, making my dolls' clothes, shoes, wigs, eyes ... I just like learning new things I guess. I'm not afraid of modding and I have bazillions of ideas, but as money is a bit short right now I'm trying to focus on my OC dolls first, and they plain and simple don't require much mod work. I might throw in the occasional alien though. ;)

    13. I'm a dreamer, I absolutely love the story/character creation that comes with getting, or even planning, a new doll and then the imaginary storyline that follows. Though later I would like to become a bit more of a hobbyist as I equally love the creativity and things you can make/design when it comes to BJDs, it's all part of that freedom that art and imagination can give you. But I'm still in the learning stages currently :sweat , so I'm still just a dreamer for now.

    14. Hobbyist with a bit of dreamer! I love photography and my doll is like my son and my super model!

    15. Hobbyist vein is what hooked me, so I put that. Dreamer is a close second though, and if I look at a doll and don't get inspired by their personality, then I don't want to bring them home. I guess then maybe it's a bit of a feedback loop, where the Dreamer aspects inspire and fuel the Hobbyist ones.

    16. Definiately a dreamer. My dolls and characters are part of my soul. I can't wait to have more for the reason of 'interactions' and posing them together. My girlfriend and I write every single day and we use characters that are going to be embodied by our dolls. The interesting part is that we don't have dolls of characters we already have, we make up new ones and find the perfect doll to fit them. c :

    17. Definitely a Dreamer first, with a side of Hobbyist. ^_^ I'm still getting better at crafting things for my dolls, but they are first and foremost representations of characters who are very dear to my heart. It's so wonderful to have something physical to hold and hug of something that was previously intangible. :D

    18. I am a mixture of the dreamer and the hobbist

    19. I'm probably between Hobbyist and Dreamer, can't choose which one since I sew, customize, photography, etc with my precious OC in my mind and my OC won't exist if I don't do all of those thing.
So I feel this is inseparable for my case. But I'm sure I'm not collector and if I do, my wallet will be hiding right now

    20. Well, I guess I am a mix. I love to collect, no doubt about that, but with time I am picky. Also a dreamer, I love to play with my dolls - taking photos, making them their characters, backstories, buying them things.
