1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I collect dolls =) I love to talk to them, play or just sit and hug together =)

    2. I like to make clothes for the dolls. My daughter is a dreamer, and I end up fabricating her fantasy outfits. So I am a dreamer, once removed.

    3. I'm definitely a hobbyist because I love photography and do quite a bit of clothes making. When I first got into the hobby I was definitely more of a dreamer too because I had all these stories in my mind and stuff but now I'm definitely more into the physical aspects of dolls.

    4. I am 100% dreamer :) My dolls have they stories/characters, but I can't name them "my child".
They are friends and families. I think, it's a bit crazy *_*

    5. Hobbyist Dreamer. I feel giving a bjd characteristics gives them life, but I LOVE going to stores and places, finding little trinkets and then thinking "Can I make something with this that would go with my bjd?"

    6. Between a dreamer and a hobbyist. I Love creating the characters, worlds...etc but I also love being artistic and hands on with the dolls.

    7. I think I'm a little bit of all three, but I would say I am a dreamer over the other two. My favorite part about having these dolls is creating characters for them, then putting them into stories and photographing them. I'm a collector at heart as well, and consider my dolls to be one of my favorite collections :)

    8. I'm 100% hobbyist! I just love customising dolls, I'm more drawn to the doll itself as a way to express myself and my crafts. I can spend a lot of time just staring at the curves of a face, and have attempted to sculpt some myself (and still trying!).

    9. I'm in the little minority.
      COLLECTOR
I don't sew or make anything. I don't make elaborate stories for them.
      I just love having them.
I love buying clothes for them and dressing them.
They do have personalities but not much more than that.
I guess my hobby is a collector. I like toys, as much as many disagree that they are not.
My dolls are the highlight of my collection and my most treasured.

    10. Man that's hard! I'd say I'm probably equal part hobbyist and equal part dreamer. I voted hobbyist as I really enjoy all the crafty things and the story making is new to me, though I'm super enjoying it so far!

    11. Wow, I might be a hobbyist! Interesting:)

    12. I guess I'm more of a hobbyist and abit of dreamer. I do my own faceup, I love how different they look from the default and to explore the potential of the sculpt, I would love to be able to sew but sewing is not my forte. I guess I was too lazy to come up with a intrigue story for each of my dolls, they do have a character outline and personality but not too much of a fixed background. I just love to explore more!

    13. Probably a hobbyist mostly and somewhat a collector. A tad dreamer. I like the craft side of the hobby more than anything but I enjoy just owning them too. I don't really display them anymore but I enjoy taking them out once inawhile. Some of my dolls will have a personality or a certain style but it's not something I work at too much to create stories and such.

    14. I am a dreamer~~
I would love to be able to do some of the hobbyist stuff~

    15. I'm a combination of the 3, I would say I'm 50% hobbyist, 40% collector and 10% dreamer.

I do everything with my dolls: I love to customize them, I love doing face ups and I have even tried sewing clothes (really hard and tiring if you make all by hand and for the first time!) I love photography and they bring out my inner creativity. Then, I'm a collector and this sums me up perfectly: "Dolls and all the cute little shoes and things that go along with them are like fantastic little works of art and bring you joy simply by having them close and being able to see and touch them." sometimes just seeing all my dolls with their miniature stuff makes me so happy!. Lastly, I'm a bit of a dreamer, I don't really create stories or backgrounds for them. I buy a doll because I like it and when the doll gets here I love playing around with their personalities and looks until I find the correct ones! other than that, they don't have another world built up except for my own^^

If I have to choose one, hobbyist it is!

    16. collector and dreamer. Mostly dreamer. I don't really think of them as my children, though. :sweat

    17. Hobyist. I started like a dreamer I have to admit it but I really enjoy the artistic side of this hobby.

    18. Hobbyist now, dreamer in the past. I'm starting to get pretty adventurous in making things for dolls, instead of just dreaming about what they are. It's pretty great actually, I like to keep busy and improve skills.

    19. I'm more of a hobbyist. I'm into sewing/knitting/crochetting for my doll. She can wear fabulous or weird stuff without people giving her look and it takes less time to make clothes for her as she is so tiny. And she can wear everything as she has perfect proportions unlike me.

If I had more money and more space, I would have been a collector.

    20. Mostly I'm a collector. Or I was--in the beginning, I was all about the chase, the next doll. Now, I just like having them around. I might dip a toe in the other categories (I've done some of my own face-ups, and created minor personalities for them), but I also like to support the "hobbyist" aspect of others, and buy handmade clothes and commission face-ups, stuff like that.
