1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I guess im a dreamer, but turning into a hobbyist. I love making jewelery and just started blushing my dolls. I have customization plans for a doll i want to buy.

    2. Dreamer and hobbyist :3 That's why I could never sell dolls that are characters of mine. Well I can, but it would be hard for me.

    3. I had to think about that pretty hard, actually.

At first I was like, combination Dreamer/Hobbyist, definitely - which is still true. But I voted Hobbyist, because I realized that if my dolls were not characters but just pretty objects, with no definite personality (beyond perhaps a fashion tendency), I would probably still have dolls...

However, even as characters, if I had no ability to make things and photograph them well I would likely have no interest in the hobby. Maybe an outsider interest, but I doubt I'd be part of it. It wouldn't be practical for me.

    4. I'm a mix between Hobbyist and Dreamer I think ^^ I voted for "Hobbyist" though, as that's the stronger element in me I think ^^

    5. Mostly hobbyist. I bought a sewing machine just so I could make my doll some nice clothes ( also cause clothes cost a lot and my wrists seize up while hand sewing.).

    6. I believe I'm equally hobbyist and dreamer, but I voted hobbyist. Mostly because I keep changing my doll's personalities... Also I enjoy doing face ups and tattoos on the dolls more than actually writing the story. ^^;

    7. Hobbyist, definitely, but I dream up pages of graph paper full of projects I never get around to, and developing backstory keeps me engaged while toiling away at the craft.

    8. I am the unpopular collector:) I have various collections and my dolls are one of them. That said, it is the only collection that I actively sell out of to purchase more, since they can be quite expensive.

    9. I am defInitely a collector and have been for years but LTF's are my favorite and I only have one but there will be more to come, they are addictive!

    10. i think i'm more of a hobbyist! i have bunch of plans for cool stuff to make for my guy that range from clothes to props to accessories and more. Though when i plan stuff i tend to keep it with a certain style since he seems like a cool and quite kind of character, so i guess i'm a bit of a dreamer too

    11. I'm definitely a hobbyist kind of person when it comes to BJDs. I just love to make clothes and take photos and other stuff.. But I can be a bit of a dreamer too. :o It's so fun to make your dolls have personality. n.n

    12. Mostly hobbyist with just a little dash of dreamer. I have never been interested in collecting anything.

    13. I'm a dreamer. I would love to be a hobbyist but I do fit the dreamer that you have described. But I don't see them as my children, though I see nothing wrong with people who do see their dolls as their children. They are my little avatars that I enjoy creating personalities for.

    14. Hobbyist here, for sure ^_^

    15. A Hobbyist! First got to into dolly world through photography. It's even more fun on doll outings with a lovely community, doesn't stop us from taking pictures whether it is rain or shine~ :daisy

    16. I am a dreamer all the dolls are based off characters of stories I keep in my head

    17. I'm kind of hobbyist and a bit dreamer, I guess! ;) I like to create, design and make clothing/accessories for my dolls, taking photos is joyful too. And actually using them as models for writing a short novel and drawing. The dreamer part of me maybe that I create character, personality and even background for them. I call my doll "he" or "she", instead of "it" or "that doll" and take good care of them.

    18. Dreamer here and aspiring hobbyist.

Ive vey decided my next doll I'll have a friend do his face up if I'm not confident enough to do it. I'm looking for a mature msd sized male. He will become Jean Havoc from FMA. My absolute favorite. I love the new Luts Model body, but the face ups look "too bishonen" for him. I will definitely style the wig myself as I already do that with cosplay and am pretty good at it.

I am definitely going to get a practice head to learn on. You've got to start somewhere.

i don't think painting a large cheese and a small cheese for a Pipos Cheesemouse... It'll be a good start and easy to fix mistakes and learn glossing and sealing, etc etc.

i LOVE making their little habitats and I make jewelry and hair accessories for them. I already do all that for Lolita. Now it's just blindingly tiny.

My dreamer side loves coming up with stories and personalities for them. My MSD girl is most decidedly a shyer Late Bloomer like I was. Her best friend is Amélie Leona. It's pretty silly, but I'm probably not having kids...a factor of time/career/ biological clock. So she got the name I'd have given a girl. (Awesome first name and favorite movie and French origin, to go with Leona, after my grandmother. (Who incidentally enjoyed dolls because of their beauty, and growing up poor. My mother didn't even think they were "odd" and was ok with the cost, thou felt really sorry for the Boyfriend. I'm not much for jewelry so dolls and vintage finds are the usual gifts.

Amélie is like a Familiar to Violette, and there is a smallish group of little brothers and sisters that are wee anthro tinies. They of course all have clothes. They tell a story.

    19. I'm a mix of Hobbyist and a Dreamer too~ I think of dolls as my companions and creative partners.

But I voted for hobbyist since I really love to sew and make my doll's clothes:D

    20. Dreamer, definately. With aspects of hobbyist as these characters wouldn't be able to come to life with it
