what kind wig do you prefer( fur,fiber,real human hair?)

So far, my fav wigs have been made out of fake fur and mohair. I have to get a synthetic wig for one of my boys eventually (the fur just is NOT working for him) but I don't really like them. Not because of the look but because of their maintenance. I'm sure once I've been in this hobby longer and used to it, I'll like them too. For now, though, fur and mohair all the way. I just love them. XD

 

I have no experience with human hair, just had mohair and synthetic until today. I prefer sythetic heat-resitent hair for my dolls, most of them wear this, I only have a few with mohair wigs. For me synthetic has a more realistic look compared to fur, especially in close-up pictures. But I really love the look of dolls with well styled fur wigs, so from time to time I give it a try for mine again, but I'm never happy with the result. Maybe it also depends which doll I put it on. Some of my dolls only look good in synthetic hair and other of them need mohair.

 

I don't have any human hair wigs and I don't think I'd be interested in getting any. Chae-ri has both synthetic fiber and fur wigs, and her "default" wig is actually fake fur. I like the look and feel of synthetic wigs, but somehow fake fur seems to suit her better in at least some situations. Also, to me, fake fur's very fine texture seems suited to her scale.

 

I only own fiber and fur wigs.

I prefer fiber even though it's kinf of hard to maintain them. I'll have to buy new wig for Aaria soon because it's all messy and tagled (washing didn't help anymore). And I prefer curly or wavy wigs and they're usually even harder to keep in shape and such.

Alexander is my only doll with fur wig. But because if his strange pointy hairstyle he can't really have fiber wig.

So in my case it depends on the character and its hairstyle. I think Oodi would look cute with fur wig too.

 

I really really like mohair, what happens is that they require more care, but they are more real than the synthetics, although I have of the two.
The human hair do not like, I see very slurred and difficult to comb, but I've only seen a couple of them.

I love fur wigs. I have some fiber, but fur wigs are so much more fun to style~

 

I like fur hair and the other day I wad thinking of cutting my hair to make doll hair. I think it would be creepy but using your own hair, is better than someone else because you would feel the connection between you and your dolls

 

i like fur wigs becase they can be styled easily, but i prefer the look of human/synthetic

 

I pretty much love anything that isn't fake fur. I hate fake fur wigs. Although, there are a few that I like. lol

 

Fiber all the way! I love the look and feel of it! Fur is great to style but it just doesnt have that silky look

 

i like mohair for my boy because he wears a lot of hats and the fur lets his hair poof out just right from under the hat.

 

Well, my MSD is wearing a faux fur wig and it suits her really well, although I'm sure synthetic would look gorgeous as well.

On my tiny, I have a faux fur wig also, but it's far too fluffy for her. I really think I'd prefer her to wear synthetic or mohair.

 

I think I posted earlier, but I did notice that my preferences really changed. When I first started the hobby I thought fur wigs were the best, but upon further thinking... Fur wigs, surprisingly, require a lot of maintenance. When styled well, they look great - but they look like the cheapest, crappiest fake fur hat you could find at a thrift store if you don't put in the time and effort into styling them - and the styling gets destroyed pretty easily, so rinse, repeat. I do have a doll planned that can only really wear fur wigs due to his hair style, but other than that, I'm mostly all for synthetic fibre - the thinner kinds. Oh, and angora fur wigs look absolutely GORGEOUS. I hope to own a doll with one some day. As far as mohair, I own one mohair wig that has a fabric wig cap that I really love (a limited White Rabbit one from Volks), but most mohair wigs tend to look too poofy and wild for my tastes.

 

Fiber and fake fur. Human hair for a doll seems to be a little unethical to me, I think that should only be used for wigs for people who had to go through chemo or other diseases and treatments that results into hairloss.

 

I prefer fiber for my girl. And I'll more please if they are heat resistance. ^-^ But if it comes to my boy. I thought fur wig suit him better.

 

I like both Fur and Synthetic wigs. Fur is just so much easier to spike up and it has a rather nice feel about it while with synth, it's able to take a certain style easier like bob cuts. The downside though is long synth hair gets messy easily!
I don't think I've ever seen a human hair wig before but I am definitely interested in it!

 

I only like the mohair wigs if it's synthetic. I can't stand the thought of fur, let alone on my doll's head. I think it's much the same with human for me. It's just kind of weird. And I'd rather that hair being used on a wig went to a human who needed it.

I definitely prefer fiber wigs, and synthetic mohair.

 

I prefer fiber hair because, it's close to human hair texture but it's cheaper n___n Another thing is I had watch too much horror stories and human hair wig is kinda creepy... n___="'
