What RACE are your dolls?

Due to my inability to scale back on my characters' background information, I have thought this out, in the wee hours of the morning.

However, it should be noted their story is set in a Steampunk-like universe where inter-planar travel is rather normal.

Hazel and Nicholas Quinn - Both are Irish humans, seeing as they are both destined for reddish-brown hair, once I have the coin to drop on them. Hazel's sculpt is proving a bit of a problem, however.

The Unnamed Pukisha - This little one is a midge, a race of sprite-like creatures that are tousled about through the planes until they find an 'Anchor', or a person they latch onto. In this particular midge's case, the Anchor was Nick.

Ebenezer Ives - He's a humanoid creature similar to a half-elf, despite not having pointed ears. The only notable feature of his race is a very strong grasp of magic, making them prone to unexpected planar travel when near rifts in the plane walls.

Zephyra the North Star - She's an imph, a war-like race of shapeshifters that can flit freely between a feline biped and an elf-like humanoid. They are the most developed race where planar travel is concerned.

Now let's talk a bit about Nobuo "Zetto" Yamamoto.
Zetto (He hates the name Nobuo or Nobu and does not allow anyone but family to call him that anymore -- Zetto is Japanese for Zed, the last letter of the alphabet in British English.) was born in Osaka, Japan, but moved to the US when very young. Zetto's mom Mi-cha is from Korea, and took the family name but retained her Korean surname. Due to quirks in Japanese immigration law she still carries a Korean passport and is not considered a Japanese citizen. The whole family is naturalized American now and holds dual citizenship in either Japan or Korea, and Zetto considers himself American.

Zetto grew up in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, in Torrance, Lawndale and Gardena. His dad, Noburo, started out as a marketing guy for a Japanese guitar manufacturer but eventually wound up a master luthier. When the Japanese guitar manufacturer was bought by Ibanez, a much bigger Japanese guitar manufacturer, Noburo was laid off. No big thing for dad: he opened up his own custom shop on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. (There is a part of Sunset that's called "Guitar Row" because it's got lots of musical instrument stores and guitar repair shops.) Yamamoto of Hollywood is now a very hip place for musicians to get their electric instruments modded. Zetto's own guitar was built by his father and is a copy of Slash's "Snakepit" custom Les Paul. Zetto's played the official Gibson Custom Shop version and considers the replica Noburo made overwhelmingly superior.

Zetto has a much younger sister, Namiko, whom he occasionally has to babysit. She's a Tween and like Yumiko was a "surprise" baby. He also has an older brother, Nobusuke (who is called Junior casually) who is a professional surfer and divinity student. Unlike wannabe rock star Zetto, his brother is of monastic temperment and practices Zen Buddhism. He eventually wants to pastor his own Buddhist temple. (No I don't have names for either character yet...working on it.)

Zetto has not one, but two bands: Locus Solus which is a progressive alternative band along the lines of Primus, and Zetto and the Glitterberries which is a glam rock inspired rock band...not entirely a cover band but largely a cover band. His main collaborator is in both bands, but the rest of the players are different in each. Zetto is also a film and music student at UCLA, although to his frustration the classes he needs to finish his degrees and get the two BA degrees he's supposed to get are being cut back by California's budget woes.

 

Well, I imagine my Clarice to live in a French fairy-tale type village, kinda out of time, a bit like Beauty and the Beast

 

My Claire's race is "doll," but she'd also be Caucasian. She doesn't have a specific nationality, although I suppose it would be American if I absolutely had to pick one.

Well...The two I own are both human. In the epic doll plan exist two daemons, one elf, two plastic humanoids, two wizards, one evil sorceress, a handfull of non-existants, and a bunch of humans. Of the humans three are from Britannia and the rest are from the same-ish area in the US.

 

Kura's an Elitist demon, Reika's human, as far as I'm concerned. Reika's Japanese-American and Kura's from Kur'weya, which is a made-up place somewhere near Russia.

Axel and Aiden are german, but their grandfather on their father's side was english so that's why their last name is english.
Ryuu is Japanese.

 

Toko is a vampire prince and Sandalio is an ancient werewolf (I'm thinking up of a language that he'll speak...possibly slightly elvish)

Constantine is Japanese, Arabian, French, Creole, and American. Long story... but that's what he is.

 

Erm.... in a past life, my Milo was a cat... part of his story is that he's slowly gaining more cat characteristics, but in a very unpleasant fashion... so I guess that his race is.... cat? xD

Sorry for buying into the whole cat-boy cliche. I'm trying to make it unique, though. :p

Tadashi - half Japanese which would explain his name...
Daigo - Contrary to his name, probably of french/european origin, Daigo is just a name Tadashi came up for him and stuck. Haven't come up with his original name yet.

I only have elf/fairy and anthro dolls, so I don't think the concept of ethnicity applies to them ^_^

Latin americans

 

I've never thought of them as being from any race... Although subconsciously I tend to think of one as Korean and the other Chinese, but only because their companies are Korean and Chinese respectively... Claudia does have rather almond-like, angled features though...probably the Chinese ideal of beauty...

 

Luken: human dark mage who can turn into something like a demon
Luken's either Basque (his name is) or Eastern European. Not quite sure - he won't tell me.

Morgan: Captain Morgan Bartholomew - a human pirate who lives in a magic bottle ship
Morgan's very probably either British or American, judging from the name, which is his real name.

Cassie: just a little girl - a bit of a mean-tempered one *gg*
Never thought about it but since she does look quite a bit like a very angry Anne of Green Gables, she's probably Canadian.

And Celaran's gonna be an elf.
