What RACE are your dolls?

lol I get a similar problem with my Sabik from a friend's brother. He says Kristos looks like Michael Jackson.

 

Violetta is human. :3 And I am pretty sure that she is english. She is very old XD so she is from the ond days of london..

 

The doll I'm getting is a bunny, but I believe I'm going to make sure she's a special bunny like from a special rain forest or something. My Lahoo doll is to be a circus boy

 

Me too, my little Alexi is only 10 and German and the instant I brought him up my friend started using quotes from inglorious bastards and making fun of him. so irritating

 

Well at the moment I have one doll, one on the way and two in definite planning.

June is an Elvish changeling. She was brought up in rural Australia, and despite having honking great elf ears doesn't know that she's not human as of yet.

And Sonja al'Hassan is the daughter of a Russian philosopher and an Egyptian alchemist. She's also a wizard, but that's not a race thing.

And the two I have in planning are both half succubi/half vampire. All of my characters are going to be like this, some fantasy raced, some real world raced.

 

My doll hobby started as an extension of my role play characters ^^ They're all based from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (for now)

Hazel - Half Hylian/Sheikah
Isadien - Sheikah
Raziel - Sheikah (my friend's char but I dollified him)
Ithaca - Sheikah
Lily - Hylian

None of them are finished projects because I can't discipline myself to only do one at a time ^^;

They all have pointed ears. The sort that makes a good Zelda character, IMO, is distinct from the long, tapered Lodoss elves and a bit more pronounced than the movie version of LOTR. I enjoy admiring the hard work people put into their dolls no matter what their ethnicity is and it fascinates me how the same doll mold can become so many different creations per the owner's imagination.

 

My doll is Asian, manufactured and designed in Japan by Volks. I just keep it to wherever it was made, that's their birthplace; hence Asian. Anyone think of it like this?

 

My Asty is English, because he is "Harry Potter type" magician)))

 

*grins* My Renny is an angel. Like, really, works for Barachiel. Enjoys scaring drunk drivers into sobriety. She takes her job description of 'guardian angel' very loosely...

 

Sonia and most of the rest that I'm saving for are "Steamterrans", denizens of SteamEarth, though a few are part fae to some degree. The only ones who aren't are Elphaba (Ozian/Tall Munchkin) and Luna (World of Darkness Human, Sin-Eater).

 

XD Sounds like my guardian angels. Been through hell, but still living.

 

I think the people who delve really deeply into the character and background prefer to customise everything about the doll - including the birthplace. Yours is an interesting concept, but I've personally never thought of it that way; once I've set my sights on the doll, it's mine to be 'sculpted', though the character formulates in my head first.
My dolls' races are a mix - Davenport considers himself English but he was born and raised in America, Kip is English, Abbas is Arabian, Henry is English, Rafe is Scottish, Hawkeye is too complicated a mix to explain, and Velkin is Russian.

 

Min is Korean, because her sculpt is supposed to look like it~ ^^

Seth is half Russian/ half American and was Egyptian in his previous life.
Really don't remember when I came up with all of this, but I think it's fun.
I love different nationalities and cultures and I like to include that in my doll's stories and personality.
Right now I'm really wondering what decided me to make him Russian/ American in the first place, since I have no connection with either nationalities xD.
I can't imagine him to be anything else however.

 

um my boy is japanese and well my girl is of the fantasy race, so i havent given her much though...

My boy's American. Even though I'm Canadian.. I find that America suits him better though.
My other character, whose soon to be a doll (maybe soon), is British / French. He's like, insanely old (ie: over 600). But either way. It all works out.

 

My Iplehouse Amy is Puerto Rican.

 

Lessee.... Ian's just plain American, not sure what his 'ancestry' would be, but probably just a random mix of european countries like most of us... Lol, he probably has some scandinavia in there somewhere... But he is like millionth generation American, so any of those cultures don't apply to him.

Eleana.... I really don't know. She looks asian but doesn't (Elfdoll Soah) So she's probably half japanese (or some other asian country if I want to get more creative) and half french\american or something. I dunno. Anyway, she lives in America and speaks perfect English, so technically she'd still be American....

Moss, on the other hand, isn't fully human! Her father was a deranged man who has sex with trees, and her mother was a tree. Yup. Not sure what country this took place in, but probably somewhere with a lot of forest on the coast, far away from *most* humans.

 

Vincent, who has yet to finish being remodeled into an MD Yuri from a Latidoll Aida, is a snow elf from god only knows where who is now a US citizen. Ezra Faust, an MD Ryu, is a Heinz 57 (mutt) United States veteran. Cedric Brodie, a Leeke Mihael hybrid, is an Irish-German boy with dual citizenship to Germany and the US, but residing in the United States.

 

I was very conscious of race when I designed my little crew. (I call them my little band of neighborhood misfits.) The whole idea was to express the ethnic diversity and multi-cultural aspect of an inner city neighborhood in the USA. So I deliberately chose dolls of different skin colors, but not necessarily normal ones...like paper white or pale lavendar or darker gray-lilac. And I made sure that their sizes were a bit different too...like anywhere from tiny to slim mini to regular mini. And I made sure each doll came from a different company so they'd all look very different as well, since none of them are related. It worked beautifully and I love my little crew. One is a ghost, one is an elven mystic, one is a robot, one is a Chobits persocom, one is a cartoon pokemon trainer, and one is a steampunk clockwork mod. It was my own fantasy way of expressing the wonderful ethnic diversity of the US.
