What RACE are your dolls?

I wonder...do Nobodys count?

 

I think I replied to this ages ago... but an update is in order.

I mostly have elves. There are a few humans, a couple of demons, a devi. I also have a goddess and some fairies. Oh! And a female satyr!

 

I have all humans, and a demon/faun guy. I WANT to have a "middle eastern" type of elf... Vaaaahn. ;_; But the only sculpt I have found doesn't come in a dark enough color. Buu. ;_;

 

I completely forgot my Goblin King! I guess he falls under "fairy" as far as race goes. I guess if you want to further lump their races... I have Ethereal (demons/gods/devi), Fae (fairy/goblins/faun/elf) and Human.

Aithne: Human-Irish/Tuatha De Danann/Fomorian (She's an RP character who's concept gets re-used each game I'm in so she changes)

 

All my dolls are just plain human.

 

Well... I'm planning to have all my dolls be from this one story I'm writing. Most of it takes place on Earth but a lot of the characters are from a different world. Otavi (the only doll I've ordered so far, so I'll just talk about him) is... Huh. This is difficult to explain with pages and pages of backstory and the legends of this other world. I always over complicate things. Well, he's a humanoid, and the other character is that world's equivalent of a half giant.

Moving on... Of the human characters I'll be using, one is Japanese and one is Chinese. Amusingly enough the doll I want for the Chinese character is, in fact, made by a Chinese company. Hooray for that, I guess?

Leloi, is your goblin king named Jareth? Because if he is then I have but one thing to say to you: You remind me of the babe.

Maybe one demon, haven't made a final decision yet.
And if I can make up my freakin' mind on which to get first, I will soon have another human or a vampire.

sorry for the reply from super old post but race is something the world needs to label people... kind of like saying male and female. Its not really limiting or segregating people unless its in a bad way where you are specifically attacking a certain race because of a certain person of that race... :3 besides, everyone does that a bit anyway (not the racism i mean labeling). Bwahahaha, I actually am FOR race. Because im sick of people asking if im chinese... IM KOREAN GODAMMIT!

 

I don't think my boy has a race...My brain didn't even register that he doesn't have one until now. I feel kind of fail-ish.

 

My Amadeaus is a shapechanger, he changes nationalities depending on where he's living at the time. But, I think British suits him the best right now.

The only one of my dolls with an asociated race is Cassie my TG Appini, who is early American/European Mutt. (Italian, Greek and German) Of the rest of my dolls they come from an alternate universe, in a location somewhat akin to New England in the US, and they are sort of "Melting pot" characters with no set race, that being said in that universe there are also a set of mythical creatures like the tonttu (cat deamons) Fairies, and Elves.

As for Takeshi and his storyline are presumably Japanese, although their culture is based off a melding between Japanese and American cultures as it originates from a roleplay environment, their race is never truly specified.

 

Yep. That was discussed earlier in the thread. But many took "race" to mean species... thus why we get answers like "human, elf, etc."

I think it was broken down to: What species you are is "Race." Where you come from is "Nationality." Where your ancestors hail from is "Ethnicity." So... for instance I'm of the Human Race, I'm American but I'm mostly germanic/celtic.

And yes, my Goblin King is named Jareth.

 

That just made my day far more awesome than it had been.

Anyway, I'm interested by the number of people who have original races/nationalities for their dolls. I didn't think I was the only one who did that, but it's always fun to see other people's takes on that.

 

My Adeline is british-french and all others are demons. :'D

 

I'm with Shimmeringcat. I never attributed a specific race to any of my dolls. Not so much that I don't care or automatically assume they are just like me, but I like the idea that they are fluid and not slotted into categories.

(i have only 1 BJD but lots of other dolls and my ideas about dolls take all of them into consideration.)
