1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What was the first doll you wanted to buy?

Jul 3, 2014

    1. Kaye Wiggs as a gift for my friend, Vincent Valentine (I thought it was girl)

    2. The very first bjd I fell in love with after getting interested in them was a resinsoul Yao. I had been browsing ebay and saw a used one for sale. Her tiny hooves and amazing horns just caught me. I did some research and ordered her straight from rs. I am so happy to have my simple, lovely grey girl Storm :)

    3. The very first one was a DoD Pesha. I thought she was so cute and super pretty! But I saw the price and said NOPE! That was like 7 years ago. Now I have one(Angell-Studio Sherry) twice the price Pesha was and paying off another one that is just as much!

    4. The first BJD I really wanted to buy was a Volks Syo. Everything about him seemed so perfect for an OC of mine, but he was so expensive and I wasn't sure I'd like him as much in person or even like the hobby that much. So I bought a MSD elf girl that I also really loved and was much less expensive as my first doll. Well, I loved that BJD and decided to save up & buy Syo. I still have him and we've had many adventures together (I always seem to pick him to go on vacation with us, even though he weighs a ton).

    5. My first bjd that I wanted was a Volks Suiseiseki and I have never been able to find one and then I fell in love with Volks Lorina and thank goodness I was able to purchase one. I got into a Volks lucky lottery. She is my favorite. I also was able to purchase a Volks Elena and they look amazing together. Elena was so old that she needed a new faceup and Nomyen made her look fabulous. The only grail doll that I want is a Fairyland MNF Juri 2008 and Fp60 Juri 2012. I have a few other special dolls like a Irrealdoll (girl).

    6. First one I ever wanted was a LUTS Bory Centaur. I'd only been researching centaurs for a painting and he'd come up in the Google search. He was SO expensive, but I thought if I saved for a while maybe I'd get him. I didn't know that some dolls could be limited, and by the time I was ready he was long sold out lol. I was in tears.

Later I got two of the Yul Centaurs, which I like way more then I liked Bory.

    7. Bobobie Sprite. I liked the sweet elf face.

    8. The first one I wanted to buy (and still want to buy) was a tiny elfdoll, Sylph.

    9. The first doll I wanted to buy was an Iplehouse EID Chase! I actually still want to buy him and he will be my second doll! xD
An EID Arvid beat him to being the first! ^ u^

    10. The first doll I really wanted was a Luts Delf El. Back then I didn't really know anything about other bjd companies except for Luts. I still like his sculpt but I'm so glad I didn't have the money to just compulsively buy him because I don't think I would have kept him. I learned later that I don't really want to collect SD dolls (I really don't care for the minifee el, personally) and also my aesthetic has changed.

It's really interesting to me how so many people have bought the doll they first were drawn to. I'm glad that worked out for all of you but not getting my first bjd love has worked out for me.

    11. The first doll I wanted to buy was a Soom Pure Spirit Amber. I still would love to have the original in cream white and the new one in the purple. She is my all time favorite. If I could find her as a full set I would so buy her.

    12. I fell in love with my first doll, who's a 66cm OnlyDoll ChuoYue. Still nuts about her.

    13. I wanted to buy and still want DOD Sha. I think he's so cute *^*
I hope I get him one day ^^

    14. I definitely wanted a Soom Ender, Lord of the Dead. I still would love one, but he's limited and beyond my price range, probably.

    15. I really wanted a Fairyland Pukipuki Ante but came across a Ruby on the secondary market. I will get Ante one day...

    16. The first doll that I wanted to buy was a Bobobie Rachel. She was being offered on ebay and I placed a bid but didn't win. I only wanted her at the time because she was the right price and I thought she was cute. I don't have any intentions of getting that sculpt anymore. I ended up getting an in stock Bobobie Espree instead.

    17. The first doll that I really liked was Dearmine Picasso. I saw pictures of him on the company website and thought that if I ever decide to buy a doll it will be him. This year while researching other anthro dolls I saw Pipos Cheshire and even placed a bid on ebay for one. I'm glad I didn't win because after doing more research I found a doll that I like even more even though she is not anthro. I guess the moral of the story is that some indecisive people need to do a lot of research before ordering anything to be absolutely sure there aren't any other dolls that better meet their criteria of beauty and fit better in their budget :)

    18. The first doll I really wanted to get was the Asakura Nemu Memorial Wedding with animetic eyes from Volks. I still keep one for sale bookmarked but I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable buying it for 70,000 yen. Not because I wouldn't love to have her but because I feel that I don't want to spend that much money on a pre-existing character. I'd rather spend that one on a doll I could customize into my own character. Not that there's anything stopping me from swapping the eyes and wig but then that would kind of defeat the purposing of buying her for being her, in my opinion, and I'd rather keep one doll for each character. I'm afraid I'd make myself feel schizophrenic otherwise.

I'll probably buy her someday if she's still available, but I definitely see her as a purchase for when I have other dolls of my own first.

    19. The first doll that I was tempted to get was DIM Arno, but I couldn't make up my mind about buying him or not. Then my first doll came along. She was a limited, which meant I couldn't just think about it forever. I had to make up my mind to buy her. Arno is now sold out, but if I find him on the second-hand market there is a chance I will get him.

    20. First doll I wanted to buy was a DoD Stom. I was just curious about the hobby and was not really looking for anything. I tested out going to BJD websites to see what they were all about and fell in love with him the moment I saw him. I have just placed an order for a different doll, my very first BJD, so I have no plans to buy him as of now. I also don't have any funds...which is what prevented me from buying in the first place.
