1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What was the first doll you wanted to buy?

Jul 3, 2014

    1. when i got into this hobby seven years ago, i was so sure i wanted to make my first doll a crobidoll yeonho. i'm just so in love with that pouty little mouth ;;; even though i ended up getting a different first doll, i'm still over the moon for him today, and i definitely want to buy him sometime next year.

    2. The first doll I wanted to buy was a MNF Shushu, she was not my first doll, it was a Luts Cherry Elf.
Took me a long time to buyed a Shushu, but I´m happy I finally buyed her

    3. The first doll I ever wanted was one of the D.O.D guardians, Yu. He was pretty new back them but when I got the money, I ended buying a Delf El dreaming instead. And I glad I finally bough a Delf because I fall in love with SD size after that.

    4. A venitu from 5th motif
But now I don't want anymore

    5. I think the first doll I ever really considered buying was dearmine's black castle marie. She had such a sweet little face that I fell in love with, but even after getting my first substantial paycheck as a teenager I just never got her. BJD's still seemed too expensive and fancy for me at the time.

    6. The first doll I wanted was the first I bought, my Bobobie Tony. I still have him and I don't think I'd ever give him up.

    7. The first one I wanted to buy was a beautiful Luts Senior Delf Karis, but SD dolls are too expensive... ><

    8. The first doll i saw was a Feeple Chloe and i love her, but can't afford her. Perhaps one day i will be able to get her, but luckily i also love some of the Resin Soul dolls who have a more reasonable price tag, so i will be starting out with those. I also would love a male and female centaur doll. I really need that lottery win hehe

    9. The first BJD I truly wanted to buy was a Luts Senior Delf Harmony. I decided against her because I didn't know where I would store/display an SD, and I was more than a little ambivalent about whether or not I even wanted a doll that big.

While I have warmed up to the idea of an SD, it's for a specific project, and Harmony's look is all wrong for it. So I don't know if I'll ever own her, though I still think she's beautiful.

    10. DoD Shall, I think? It's hard to remember. I knew of bjds for a long time, but didn't seriously consider buying until much later.

I've since fallen way out of love with her though, and can't imagine myself wanting to buy one now.

    11. My first and only doll at the moment is Be with you paprika she is So Precious I Love Her to death ~!

    12. The first doll I wanted to buy was a Ringdoll :) I didn't know whic sculpt I was after, just their Grown boys were gorgeous. The first bjd I actually bought though was a Dollzone Byron who I love just as much, with Ringdoll Lucifer style C being ordered 6 months later x'3

    13. Either Sha or E-an from Dream of Doll were my first loves.

    14. DreamingDoll Misora - she's on order right now and she'll be my first doll!

    15. The first doll I wanted to buy was Angel Elf Soo, but after seeing her in person many years later I'm happy I ended up with a Juri in her place.

    16. The first doll I wanted to buy was a Dream Of Doll Yu, there was just something about that little smile of his. I couldn't get him as I had no money back then, I'm actually glad I didn't as they later renewed their bodies and also released lots of others equally interesting sculpts. So much I don't know anymore which one I really want.
I also like Kirill who has the same little smile but half closed eyes that gives him an even more mischievous look.

    17. Fairyland Feeple65 Siean... she was one of the first BJDs I saw online when I started browsing and I totally fell in love.

    18. The first doll I wanted to buy was a Volks SD boy, but I don't remember which sculpt because after seeing the price, I thought it was impossible and put him out of my mind. My first ended up being an Angel of Dream MSD Chen, whom I loved every bit as much as that first Volks I saw, but then after things got better financially, I looked at Volks again and fell in love with F-16. I did get him, and I still have him. I also still have the AoD Chen. :)

    19. The first bjd that truly enchanted me, caught my eye, got me interested enough to spend the weekend in my PJs, searching, learning, getting entranced and amusing my husband, was on Pinterest. This past January I was checking through my usual pins on Pinterest, and somehow a doll pic popped up in an unexpectedly. It was a very realistic art baby doll. I had seen the art dolls at the Houston Quilt Show for a number of years, it is huge, the largest anywhere attracting exhibitors worldwide. I looked further into the dolls on Pinterest and bjds came up. The one that truly caught my my eye, really got me into it, was Marina Bychova's dolls. I continued to look through and pinning others including the Popov Sisters' dolls and those by Tatyana Trifanova. Then dolls by some of the artists in Asian companies came up. I looked them up, found the prices, that they were doable, and that was that.

The first doll that I actively made an effort to buy, was a MSD Asleep Eidolon, Coral, and I still like her. I saw her on a website for Legend Doll. I really had no idea what a Face-Up was, or how to even order. I was hesitant to buy from a company so distant, and I did not know how to order or if it was safe, as in, would the doll even come, would it even look like the picture. I had no idea about single or double joints, pose-ability, suading or modifying, box opening and so on. I had a great time that weekend checking it all out. A week later, I found a doll in-stock at DDE, that I really liked, and ordered her. When she arrived, my husband recorded the box opening, and we both had a good time. She is all that I could wish for. She is an MSD Dollmore Kid Roo. I also bought a second set of eyes and 2 wigs.

I have since continued to read, research and ask questions. Am really happy about the info found on UTube. I am going to my first con this summer. I have also contained to look at different companies, dolls, and keep a list of my favorites. There is a few now no longer available and I hope to locate one second-hand in the future.
