1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What was the first face mold you fell in love with?

Jul 15, 2018

    1. Edit to add: I think asking about the FACE is an important distinction. The previous post reminds me that there are dolls that I love with reckless abandon, and WILL own someday, just because of what they are (among those are DZ Anson, along with Moment and Sawarieda, and the Dollmore Trinity line) but in terms of JUST the face, those dolls arent actually a contender, despite the fact that I adore them as a whole!

      -----

There are plenty of faces that I like- my first doll included- but the one I "love" is my second doll, a Miracledoll Jing.

I got him as just a head, I was so excited for him that I had him shipped to my college dorm, just so I could see him and do the faceup asap. I have many heads now, and I like them all, but if i had to keep only one, it would be him!

He's such an iconic part of my time in the hobby, to me. He's the only doll so far that gets a name, design, story, and plans (though hopefully that will change!)

    2. No doubt Dream of Doll Sha. Tastes have changed and he's too crazy to get a hold of now though.

    4. That one is easy for me. I really fell in love with Alicia from Minifee. It is just so cute and innocent. Especially with the right face up. Since then I also started liking other faces but she has a special place in my heart .

    5. Iplehouse Tatiana, some time around 2013! She quickly grew in my heart. I don't think she is being sold anymore, though.

    6. Although everything about her appeals to me, PlumeDoll Luna’s sharp, almost alien face appealed to me immensely from the moment I saw her. A lot of anthro dolls have faces that feel almost babyish - I like how harsh hers is.

    7. I have memory issues so I don't remember any I liked as a teen but ResinSoul Ke was the one that compelled me to finally start collecting BJD although I while I was saving for her RS Xun was released and ended up being my first lol
Plus I'm worried 1/3 scale might be too big for me as I have little space even for 1/4 scale, so Ke has been pushed back further in my doll plans but I will get her someday!

    8. My forever grail doll, CP Lishe (female) and for male my first love, Dollzone Yuu in tan.

    9. Back when I started getting into the hobby, I didn't pay much attention to the sculpts specifically, but Dream Valley's sculpts all have me pretty enamored nowadays. Vine and Cayes' are especially lovely. They both have such unique looks you don't see too often!

    10. Iplehouse Leonard has always been, and possibly always will be, my favorite sculpt. I love his big nose and catlike eyes! Oddly, I've owned two, and sold both, because I just never found a way to fit him into my crew. But, I'm currently working on an idea...and next time he will come home for good. I'm sad that I will never find him with the Carved Heritage tattoo again, though; I should've been more patient about developing his character!

    11. The first bjd I ever fell in love with, the one that got me into the hobby, bas pukipuki pukisha. I never owned it and I probably never will, but gosh do I still love it

    12. Luts Bliss by far! Something about the half closed eyes and little smile made me totally fall in love. He was the first doll that made me feel like I absolutely needed him. Now that he's available in MSD size, I'm fully committed to buying him when I've saved enough. Though sometimes I still feel like i should get the SD size.

    13. I honestly don't remember.

I first caught on to the idea of BJDs years ago, while surfing the web on our old family computer [back when we had only the one and it was in the corner of the lounge - that's how far back I'm talking - before the true advent of laptops and personal computers for all]. Well, I think these were BJDs. They were quite similar, though I never made a note of the company or any sculpt names. Their outward concept appeared the same, with outfits and styling. And mostly humanoid proportions. But, their prices and my young age at the time meant I couldn't get one back then. I swore that I would one day. But, I've never been able to remember how I stumbled upon them in the first place or what the site was called. I've no idea if they're still in production, whatever they were!

Then, a few years later, I got thinking about them again and stumbled upon "true" BJDs. The companies and sculpts we know today. And, I remember really initially wanting a Dollzone Mo. But, then, I quickly changed my mind for a Ringdoll Sol. However, the first 'love' of the hobby had to be... Soom Dia. Then, I thought it was the most beautiful face. It still is, but my tastes have changed. As they do.

I just wish I could remember/find what those first few dolls I saw were... But, I feel the companies might have gone bust by now, with the rise of the more popular BJDs and signature companies.

    14. Migidoll Ryu was the first sculpt that I really liked. I never managed to get one but I have the Cynical Ryu head and hope to get a body for him soon.

    15. Iplehouse Asa. I decided to get Mari instead because I fell in love with her when she first came out with her full set edition

    16. Dollshe Saint. First bjd I've seen. Because of him I fell in love with bjd.

    17. I always loved how LUTS Frey looked and I was sure that he'll be my first doll but then I ended up with Loongsoul Eleven as my first.

    18. I fell in love with the juri08 sculpt back when I first joined the hobby. The eyes are such a unique shape compared to other sculpts, I just really like the aesthetic. Maybe someday I will get the juri08.

    19. Doll Chateau Vincent was the first Doll I was ever really attached to!

    20. Soul Doll Joelle.D. That smirk is just too handsome. Somehow, I still have yet to order him...
