What was the worst accident that ever befell your doll?

I spilled alcohol on a newly faced up doll and it stripped over HALF the face off. This was me >>> The shock happened in stages. Thankfully I wasn't really pleased with it so I stripped the rest off and I love the new face up.

 

My Kana (mercupid).... Oh dear i have dropped her so many times... no damage though but i panic every time.. also her little fins fall off at a slight glance >.< so it's always FREEZE..OMG where is it?

 

Poor Ferris, it seems like alot of the times i pose her quicky on a hard surface, she falls and hits her head. No bad damage has happened yet tho! *knocks on wood*

 

A few years back I set one of my MD Mihos on a rock during a camping trip. He fell over before I could catch him and scraped half his faceup off on his trip down the face of the rock. There were no scratches on the resin, and he had an appointment for a professional faceup anyway, so I guess no harm no foul.

 

When I first got Luna, she was a bit suicidal...She would constantly jump off tables, chairs, my arms, the bed...just about anywhere I put her she ended up on the floor. The worst fall she had was when I had her sitting on a pile of stuff I had in my arms. I didn't think she was in any danger, she was against my chest and the stuff was angled so she wouldn't fall. But, of course, she leaped down a flight of stairs....There was no damage. She is now known as Leslie and has a new personality. Since this persona of Luna's has taken over, there have been no incidents.

My other doll, Lilah, has not been so lucky. When I went to pick up Lance, Lilah was with me. When I brought them home, Lance was in his box and Lilah was sitting on it. She took a tumble on the asphalt and snapped off her pinky. I glues it back on and plan on giving her a tattoo to hide the seam.

 

When Tamil's head was having his faceup done, my friend had it in a box with material for cushioning when she brought it over to show me her progress. What I didnt realise was that the latch on the wooden box (made of metal) also protruded on the inside.
Which when the material shifted around...
I had the biggest fright when I pulled his head out and there was a gouge out of his cheek D8
Luckily some very careful sandpapering and faceup work managed to hide it but it made me paranoid after that ^^

 

I was a moron and had Mikail (a DOC Zen) sitting on top of some tall kitchen cabinets. My dad opened said cabinet, not realizing Mikail was there, and sent my boy crashing down into the metal sink. He lost a finger (but only one, amazingly enough!) but a friend was able to glue it back on and now unless you know what you're looking for, you'd never know about the oops.

 

The worst scare I've had was when I was posing Audrey for a photo, and she seemed stable standing up so I went to take the picture (this was also on my hard wood table) and she face planted the table D: I was terrified I broke her nose but luckily there wasn't any permanent damage.

 

I've got something more horrifying than a fall--try an s-hook through the arm. Yeah. My poor Sylva. I was trying to take her apart to restring, because her hands felt.. catchy? As if they weren't fitting up against her forearms right. I must've been working at her right arm, jiggling things around trying desperately to get her hand off, when POP. Suddenly her s-hook's pierced its way through the resin in her arm, poking me in the finger (the problem was, I thought the brand new s-hooks I'd bought were ready to go, when really they needed to be pinched at an angle--so all my tugging and fussing warmed up her arm, and made it easy for everything to go horribly wrong.) I was able to fish the s-hook out and restring her, though. At least she started out as a second-hand dolly with some prior nicks and chips! Just one more little thing that makes her special.

 

When I first got my dollmore lusion she wasn't sueded and wouldn't sit up very well. Halfway through a meetup she desided to fall over from a sitting position and almost broke the glass table she was sitting on! Dolly was fine, but I was sooooo worried for half a second that i was going to have to pay for a fancy new table (the meet was at a hotel). She is such a big heavy dolly that she is a hazard to other objects when she falls over!

 

This is fun because it's how the doll arrived. But I was getting the a minifee elf shiwoo from luts. He arrived and I unboxing him. I went to pull the bubble wrap off his head, and his head popped off. Apparently the s-hook that attaches to the neck mechanism had become bent in transit and couldn't stay hooked in the mechanism. Took a while and a pair of pliers to get the doll back together.

 

i bought my first ever bjd... i am a newbie so i dont know much... i bought her clothes and MSC... but the clothes come in first and i am so excited that i put the clothes right away.... a uniform set and a black stocking... oh i am so happy that night then the morning come to ruin it... i saw huge stains on her legs!!! it is from the stocking... i try everything but it wont come off huhuhhu.... i should have wait for my MCS first... now i am waiting the cleaner that could remove those stains....

 

Well the 'worst' thing that happened so far was when I took the box with clothes from the cupboard and something fell on Takanori. At first it didn't look like he was gonna fall but a few minutes after it fell on him and I thought everything was okay he slided off his place,landed on his butt and lost his headcap.

 

Haha, well...

Moz' head fell out of my fridge.

Backstory on that: since he's my floating head, back around Hallowe'en I did a photoshoot of him as a severed head in my fridge. I took my hand away from him and he toppled right off the little tupperware lid I had him set on and down to the floor-- quite a drop from the top shelf of a side-by-side fridge/freezer!

I freaked out a LOT, but he was fine-- not even a chip to his faceup. Pretty impressive-- he must have landed very well!

It was with my first bjd, Glacian. He's not even a month old at the time. I posed him standing on a small table/corner then I just turned around to grab my camera. The next thing I knew, my poor baby fell down from the table. His fall wasn't direct to the wood floor. He bumped to the door first (table where he's standing is pressed against the door), it kinda broke his fall. He's got black stains on his head, shoulders and parts of chest, but they were easily removed by magic eraser. He got back from his bodyblushing and tattoo at the time (that's why I'm taking pic) and unfortunately, the fall damaged his beautiful tattoo. I just am so thankful, the artist agreed to help and modified his tattoo. He's fine now, just needs toget re-strung. Learned a lesson from there. Never, never leave your doll unattended.

 

I had my first doll with me to a convention which was....medium sized back then.
I had him on my arm when a friend of mine turned around and knocked his head off his neck with her elbow...the head got knocked away a few metres and then rolled over a path with little stones. I was so afraid his head would be totally screwed but he only had a few scratches in his face-up I wanted to re-do anyway Since then I never took a doll to a convention again, no matter how small or big.

The second accident happened years later and actually a few weeks ago. My actually second doll got his new head after years of being unhappy with him, and while taking the first pictures of him in his new shell he fell from the table straight onto my DSLR (!) while I was just drinking something and standing far close to him.
He fell on the cover of the flash and instead of damaging himself he only damaged the cover a tiny bit
I already feared his nose would be damaged but he only punched a dent into the flash-cover.

 

Dremel to the face T^T Gouged out a massive groove from mouth to... above the ear over the eye.
It was my first go on the 'proper' head, and I messed up. Luckily, I saved it and made it into a different character.

 

When I was restringing Aidan and he fell. He broke 2 fingers on his left hand. I was like in exact sequence. Feels really bad.

 

I have an even worse story now.. while I was away from home, and even though Audrey was on a high shelf in my room, my dog got a hold of her.. I was sooo upset when I found her. Luckily it could be worse, but she's got a few bite marks on her face plus a gash above her eyebrow and other little scratches and her finger broke.

 

Well my dolls have had a few falls and all nothing out of the ordenary. I do have somthing odd that has happed to ever doll I own. Most of my boys save my shiwoo and EL are 2nd hand dolls. The one that come in with eye lashes well they fall off withing a month. Iono if its the house the place where they are sitting( out of the sun and against a wall) but it never fails. I have one doll that still has his and a new girl with her still on but I am time these things . I guess my dolls just were not ment to have eye lashes.
