What was the worst accident that ever befell your doll?

I've got a couple.

Both my bbb Sprite and DZ mini have chipped ears. Super tiny chips from falling. My sprite fell off the table at work and the DZ fell at a doll meet in to some gravel. Nothing else was hurt just top of a single ear.

The worst accident I've had was with Honey Bea my sd10 volks girl. I was re-stringing her and managed to put a tiny gouge in her cheek with a pair of scissors. It's not terrible but she will need a light sanding to get rid of it.

 

I've had a few minor accidents with mine, but the only really bad one is just a few days old. We just moved to a new place about two months ago and I set up the dolls in what I thought was a safe corner of the spare bedroom, but apparently the sun got in more than I thought...my very tan, very babied EID Luo now has greened out hands/feet/chest/half a face. If I'd been paying him more attention I could've moved him to a better spot, as he's the ONLY one of my dolls that got in the magical ray of sun that hit the shelf they all live on. I'm trying to think of it as an opportunity to learn more about camouflage body blushing.

But really...I cried like a little girl when I saw how bad it was. Doll injuries are so much worse when they're borne of my own dumb.

 

He's telling you never to take a picture of him with flash. Flash is the devil's plaything.

I'm glad your boy wasn't hurt though!

My only accident to date with my doll was her slipping off the little table I keep her on next to my computer desk and falling to the ground by my computer. Luckily no damage, but it gave me a heart attack!

 

I haven't had many incidents with my dolls, but not long after I got my first doll, a DIM Flowne, she decided she didn't need wings to learn how to fly. -_- I had sat her down on a high shelf and turned to do something else and a moment later she fell off the shelf and landed face first on the floor. I was worried she may have broken one of her fairy ears or fingers, but she survived it completely unscathed.

 

Dollfie Dreams tend to be the invincible BJD but I actually broke one of the stress support discs inside the body when I posed my girl too hard.

 

Probably when my roommate's boyfriend bumped my TV, aka doll shelf, and knocked all five of them to the surface of my wooden desk. @__@ Luckily they were all unharmed save for a few flying wigs, but it scared the hell out of me.

 

I was wearing red lip stick and somehow the red lipstick got on Chaucer's WHITE SKIN! It stained him like crazy and I was freaking out because I was at a convention and didn't have anything to clean him with! Thankfully I just went to the bathroom and washed it off and he was stain-free!
And when I first got Izaak I was putting his shirt on and somehow the S-Hook got loose and his head was as bobbly as a bobble-head! I was freaking out because I didn't realize at the time that it was the S-Hook that got loose, but I figured it out and all was well. But poor Izaak's head was so wobbly in the meantime!

 

This was along time ago, when I first got Marc. He was standing on this wooden case I used for all my sewing, and I was working while he stood. My grandpa knocks into the table, but he is still standing. He didn't even budge.

Then a few minutes later, the cat jumps up on my lap. Marc doesn't budge.

Then I sneeze and FLOP. Right on his face. I had a heart attack. All the stories of dolls smooshing their noses, breaking them or having a dent passed through my mind as I am flailing and panicking.

Marc was fine though. But god that freaked me out terribly. XD

 

I stepped on my mini's fingers and broke all but one. I still feel the grief of when it happened.

 

So far nothing but fixable staining for me *knock on wood*

 

I had the same thing happen to my first SD! I was redressing him when his hand popped off and sent the S-hook up his arm! I had to get my dad to tug it out with chopsticks and a little metal hook. Thankfully only the inside of his arm was damaged, and not enough to effect the resin structure of his arm!

 

I haven't had any crazy accidents.
But one time I has trying to stand my girl up, it was super windy and she fell over before I could catch her.
Fell face first onto the cement side walk. It just left a dent in her nose and a mark.
Nothing crazy, but I still got a new head. > A>;;

 

I bought volks number 1 head and It was in a box. And some what I was busy so left home real quick and when i came back, I noticed my dad throw away all the boxes! I just ran down to the recycle storage area and had to dig all the boxes OMG It was horrible.
Finally I found my doll but it was the worst accident ever!

 

My very first doll was an Orientdoll Ji, which I carefully dyed and painted, and felt so pleased with that I caught the BJD bug in a serious way. A year or so after buying him, I adopted a dog who turned out to be an epically destructive chewer. Poor Indivar ended up in a hundred unrecognizable blue pieces. I was able to replace and recustomize him, and I was lucky that it wasn't one of my more expensive dolls, but I was pretty sad at the time.

 

Umm... an eyelash fell out ^^;

I haven't had any serious doll accidents luckily - not yet at least!

 

I think the worst fall Icarus has ever had was when he fell from the table. He wasn't standing, either. Just sitting down, playing his DS and then BAM, front flip onto the floor.

 

my first dolls was a minifee. if you own one you know that their feet is held by a resin swirl rather than a S-hook. well someday, for no real reason, the resin hook broke. the string pulled it back in the calf and it got beautifully stuck there.
I couldn't get it out and freaked out so bad I ran crying to my dad. luckilly he was able to get it out and even put it back solidely!

 

3 Years ago

The worst, and last probably, I brought my Amy to school to do a presentation about 'Thing that is precious for you' so i brought my BJD . And one of my classmate found that my Amy is scary, she screamed and came up to her and slap her off my hands..

Results:
• Head -> scratches on the back of her head
• Face -> A LOT OF SCRATCHES [i erase the scratches tho', now still have not find her face up artist]
• Upper Body -> hand crack
• Lower Body -> bit tiny cracks
• Legs - Feet -> Feet S Hook's part broken..

So, i asked her to pay [i cried] , in front of the teacher, she said yes. But when i asked her after school, she answered 'why do i have to pay for that stupid scary thing?, Moron'

Well, i get angry.. OF COURSE. She always show off to everyone that her older sister is an actress, for me who cares? A sister of an actress who can't even pay for things which was wasn't hers and broke it
Shameful..

So, I went home ... Scolded by Parents...
A year later, dad came up to me and get me a new body that cost 200$ more-less.[still the same head]
And now, .... that girl who did this still in my school and one class with me ..

*Note:
I found out not long ago, her school bag [Juicy Couture] which cost $100 more-less, been stepped by her friend, she cried out loud and even ask to pay for the 'DIRT' stained on her bag..
LOL, what i thought of was.. Don't even think to get the money to stain off the dirt, a huge damage to $300 more less doll you can't even pay, how can you think that your back is more precious than my doll

...... and because I'm stupid sometimes, two minutes later the same thing happened again. After that, I set him down on the couch while I finished whatever I had been doing. (I still can't remember what it was I was doing...)

 

Well I am still pretty up set about this one. I was storing my Lahela Skeleton Wand from Iplehouse on top of my DVD's. My niece was asking me about a movie that she wanted to see, so when I went to pull the dvd out the wand fell to the floor. The Skeleton broke off at the wand, and one of the horns broke off of the Skeleton head. Still have not fixed it yet. Don't know how.
