What will fit Bobobie Girls? wigs, eyes, shoes, clothing

Aug 13, 2007

    1. I was wondering if anyone more experienced than me could give me a few pointers on finding clothes that fit. Most eBay sellers just give a broad range or simply say "SD type" in their descriptions. I have heard of people buying clothes from the manufacturer of their doll that don't fit! Anyone have any tips or tricks?

More specifically, I have a Bobobie 60 cm girl, and am looking for a guy's button-down shirt that will be a bit oversized on her. Should I be looking for a shirt for a larger doll, like a Hound? I'm assuming that a 60 cm boy's shirt won't close over her (very mature!) chest.

I'm also wondering if anyone could give me some advice on where to buy jeans that would fit. (With the incredible range of girl body measurements out there, how on earth does anyone get clothes to fit their doll?) I'm not wealthy enough to just buy clothes that I like and hope will fit. I would like to find a nice pair of jeans, and they're not cheap. *_*

    2. I bought a bobobie Rachael not too long ago and asked the same thing. For Rachael, I was told they come with 20mm as default, but 18mm works, too. I went with 18mm because mine is actually going to be a boy and smaller eyes will make him seem a tad less girly even though his head is a female sculpt.

    3. As we're talking about clothes here, I am waiting on a bobobie boy. ANybody got one and have advice on where to get clothes?

      Thanks in advance!

    4. I'm planning on buying an Ophelia in the very near future, and I was hoping if any current owners could give me some pointers on the best sizes of wigs and eyes to get. She seems to have very big eyes and a small head - would the best sizes be 20mm eyes and a 7-8 wig?

      Any input is greatly appreciated!

    5. Bump? Anyone?

    6. It was just a guess but I put 18mm in mine. They look okay. The eyes she came with were cheap looking. She is wearing an 8-9 wig, it's a little big but doable. Bought a lot of 3 new wigs for 30.00 on Ebay. It was to good to pass up. I cut a balloon in half and used it as a wig cap. It helped quite a bit with the slipping. I don't know how a 7-8 would fit... Maybe better? Hope this helps. =^.^=

    7. Bobobie heads are notoriously awkward sizes. My Weylin wears a 8-9 wig, which is a little big on him, but the 7-8 I tried on seemed too small (I barely got it on at all) even though he should be wearing that size according to his listed measurements. My friend has had the same problem with her 43cm Bobobies.

Best bet is to do what Barbarella did and get/make a wig cap or do something else to help with the slipping. I used double sided tape, which worked just as well.

    8. A 7-8 wig works well on my Ophelia, and I use either an 18mm eye, or a 17mm silicon eye. I find that smaller eyes make her look more mature and less... startled. There are some people that swear by a 8-9 wig, and they do work ok, but only with a wig cap, IMO.

    9. Thanks for the help, everyone! I think I'll go for the larger wig, I'd rather have to use white-tack than not get it on at all!

    10. Well I have to let you know since I made this mistake myself. If you buy an F wig, wich is a brand of fur wig, get a size larger than the reg type wigs. I now have a tuft of fur on my poor boys head. lol.
The minis take 16 mm eyes, so 18 or 20 for the SD size.

    11. My nickname for those dolls is "booboobie" since the girls are well-endowed, but the dress looks adjustable so it may work.

    12. Thank you so much for the information. xD Yes, Abigail has huge boobs. Like if I had to guess in doll size... she'd be like a DD40

    13. Oh the bewbs! I was wondering about clothes for Elena and the other 60 cm BBB too, mainly because her breasts are twice the size as a lot of the SD girls from other companies. I keep seeing patterns for SD10 and SD13 size, but that means they have 10 yr old or 13 yr old bodies, right? I have this same issue with my BBB Sprite with mature body, too. Most MSD have smaller chests. I made a Lolita dress from one of Gracefaery's patterns for MSD and it fit well on my Sprite, which surprised me because the dolls in the pics were not busty. Has anyone used her SD size patterns? Maybe they are a good fit too! I should just ask her.

    14. there are patterns from Gracefaerie for the large bust elfdoll I think...those might fit the Bobobie.

    15. For the Bobobie girls I would look for clothing that is made to fit some of the other busty dolls out there as well as things that have some stretch (though if they're too too small it won't look flattering even if it does technically fit over her bust). My Ophelia is a bit short on clothing, since she isn't able to wear a lot of the things that fit my other girls (most of my big girls share stuff back and forth).

    16. What doll company clothing can the 60 cm girls wear? I'm getting a bobobie girl body and was curious so I can start buying her clothes right away xD

    17. Well... KK Workshop clothes (you can get them on ebay) are somewhat tight in the chest, so the snaps have some strain, in the back but that's what my 60cm Rachel has on. They've held up and I really like the look of them!

    18. i am getting a new doll and i was wondering if anybody knew what clothes a 68cm bobobie girl can wear im having trouble *_*
