1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. The 1974 Swallows and Amazons film is a far better representation of the actaul story in the book than the new one will be (they've dickered about with the story to an unnecessary degree so I'm not going to bother seeing it), but it might be good for doll clothing inspiration**... It looked OK form the couple of stills I've seen. There have also been a couple of good TV series of the later books in the series (Coot Club and The Big Six) that are very nicely costumed (as well as being fairly true to the stories in the books)

EDITED TO ADD: **The posters for the film showed the Amazons with long curly hair and flowery blouses - given that they were mistaken for boys when they first appeard in the book, I'd say that it's a good thing I didn't bother going to see this travesty of a film

    2. My guy is classy. He is kind of a Renaissance time aristocrat (the type that gets me going lol)

    3. My dolls are kinda fairy kei- ish <3

    4. My two upcoming dolls will have different styles..
Leekeworld Mikaila will have a black and white lolita style as for my Unoa Yawn will have colorful fairy kei style :)

    5. My 1/4 is a casual mori kei kinda girl and my 1/8 is gradually amassing a collection of very tiny decora accessories to go with her brightly colored dresses. ^0^ My 1/6 on order will wear mostly childish clothes in blue/white.

    6. I have a variety of styles ^__^ One dolly is pin-up retro, one is more "sexy" natural, one is more elegant and refined, one is a mix between mori girl and casual cute, one is a mix between lolita and casual cute, and the newest addition is a little autumn and hippie girl. ^__^ Hehe - but they like to mix and match too.

    7. I'm currently in the process of shopping for my doll but I already know I want her to wear modern clothes that are worn today.

    8. I dress most of my girls like boys and the one time I had a boy I dressed him like a girl.

    9. For the most part I keep my girls in Lolita
      Or a girly casual style

    10. Hey guys, what style do you give your dolls? Do you dress all your dolls up the same way or do they all have their own fashion styles? I try to give my girls a cute lolita fashion look and my boys a punkish look. :chibi

    11. For my Argonautica aliens, I typically go for classic Old Hollywood glamour or sci-fi couture. My dablyop are dressed in more of a cute junior high 1960s/Momoko sort of way. And my Constantine is anything 1920s.

    12. I have had plans for how to dress my dolls, but I get so caught up obsessively insisting on certain perfectionist details that it hasn't happened for my whole crew yet.
      My plans are, in short:

A Korean or Japanese historical dress for each doll (according to their country of origin)
      A casual outfit for each
A fantasy outfit for each (based on costumes from a video game I used to play..)
      Pyjamas for each

And occasionally I do something like a halloween costume if there is a local meet I want them to be festive for.

There is one doll who is a complete outlier from all this planning of mine. She was a secondhand buy from someone on the Pacific coast, who gave the doll a very distinct PNW fashion vibe and shipped her to me with a lot of clothing, sort of as a starter pack. I love her in that style, and hardly ever attempt to dress her in fantasy or historic dress like the others.

    13. i want to give my dolls each an individual style and look, like one boy dressing in flannel and jeans and another wearing the kind of stuff popstars wear, but for the most part im dressing them all in modern casual clothes :- )

    14. Now I prefer Japanese style and Chinese style:D

    15. I just got my first BJD and I'm still trying to figure out the style that I would like for him to have.

    16. What doll do you have?

    17. A Resinsoul Bao. I wish I had pictures of him yet. He kinda just came in thursday.

    18. Vince... doesn't have A style, so much, he just likes dressing up in anything. He normally wears shorts and tee shirts (I'll have to make him some long pants now that we live in a place with proper seasons! He does have a long-sleeve tee, and I got the fabric to make him 'jeans'...) just because that's what it's easiest to dress him and leave him in... though I really like his fancier/girlier pieces. I think I'd enjoy giving him some more interesting Japanese street fashion-inspired looks, I tend to like him in anything that's fun or colorful. I think accessorizing could take his outfits farther than I have been-- he's got bags and jewelry and hair clips and hats that I almost never bother with, beyond the one bracelet he always wears.

Pete has some casual preppy wardrobe pieces, and one cool pair of pants that wouldn't look out of place at a white party... and then he has a fabulous goth hat and one soft rainbow beanie. The most important thing with his wardrobe is the color palette, though, so as long as it's predominately pink and white, I'll put it on him.

Billy just wears his dinosaur pajamas. I love it so much I haven't bothered with dressing him more to suit his character.

    19. Depends on their backgrounds, I guess. But a lot of my boys share my own style, kinda nu goth-ish + leftover '06 hypebeast lol.
Others have more elaborate fantasy or historical styles that fit their story settings. Especially my older dolls.

    20. I'm giving my entire collection an overhaul (well, I'm currently planning it out, nothing has yet been done). They will all have the same style: A combination of stage make-up and wearable art Haute Couture. The entire idea is that these characters are much more like archetypes, than actual human beings.

Not sure if it's going to work out, but half the fun's in trying, right? :)
