1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What's your favorite kind of stand?

Sep 21, 2004

    1. Does anyone know where to get decent stands from UK way? I keep finding all USA websites but the shipping is a bit too high for me, as I will be buying stands in bulk.

    2. This is an interesting topic for me. I have no stands for my larger dolls so all of them (6) are sitting right now but I would prefer for them to have a stand to display them and give them more room to fit in.

Where do you like to buy your stands from?

    3. My dolls have always stood on saddle stands made by Reba. She makes great quality stands and now makes adjustable, heavyweight ones that hold the weight of my big SG girls quite nicely.

    4. I was planning on buying saddle stand for my SD- and YoSD-sized dolls but I had problem with finding a single company that would have both and would ship to Europe...
Volks naturally has both sizes but volks.usa doesn't shit outside of usa. I came across CoolCat, they have huge choice of both saddle and waist stands for all sizes!
Now I only need to decide which type to go for in the end... So more feedback, please!

    5. Which type of doll stands is the best...
I will say that very much depends on the dress style of your dolls.
For dolls that often wear dress, a saddle stand is good as it provide good support and can be hidden under the dress.
For dolls that often wear hot pants or trousers, or if you are using the stand for a male doll, then a waist-grabbler or a thigh-support type doll stands will be better as a saddle can looks awkward on pants and trousers.
I myself have both saddle and thigh support arms for my doll stands,
as the parts of my doll stand is interchangeable, so that I can change the doll stand type so as to fit the dress style of my dolls.

    6. Hi out there!
I'm looking to buy a stand for my SD sized doll, but I wanted to know about people's experiences with them.

For instance, how do the metal stands compare to wooden based stands?
Has anyone had any problems with specific companies' stands?
Any recommended places for low-cost, dependable stand shopping? (Volks' price of $55 for wooden stand seems a bit steep.)

Any advice or information would be appreciated! ^_^

    7. I personally like the metal Volks stands better than the wood ones because they're smaller when disassembled and are therefore easier to travel with. The base on the "c" type one actually fits in the outside pocket on Volks's carrier bags.

I really like the CoolCat ones. We got some recently and they look great. I didn't expect them to be as nice as they are.
