1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. What's your ultimate dream costume for your bjd?

Jan 25, 2018

    1. It changes a lot. I'm currently playing Baldur's Gate 3... so I'm kinda inspired by that at the moment. But, honestly, I'd really love to have a wardrobe inspired by all my favorite media for my dolls. There's just so many great possible costumes.

If I had to pick just one, though... probably something based on Alice in Wonderland. The aesthetic would just work so well for all my dolls.

    2. I don't dream very big: a pair of functional jeans that the dolls can also sit in :sweat I have not been completely successful with those so far but they are a staple in any casual wardrobe so I am convinced my dolls need a good pair or two.

    3. I would LOVE to get the Doll's costume from Bloodborne. I have been obsessed with that game for ages, and it'd be beautiful to have an actual BJD of the Doll.

I would also love to get an identical doll to that and get Lady Maria's costume - with the chair you find her lying on. Can you imagine them side by side?? I'd die of pure bliss!

    4. I don't have a n ultimate favorite but as I mostly display my dolls and not play with them I realized I prefer on very fancy costume for each instead of plenty everyday functional clothes

    5. Basically a suit and tie, but tailored for a girl. This is possible so I'm very happy :love
I fell in love with BJDs when I saw Doll Chateau Gladys and I immediately thought she'd be perfect as the Plain Doll. Including the weird proportions!

    6. I want max from Where The Wild Things Are.

    7. I would love a detailed lopapeysa sweater/dress, especially in specific colors.

    8. I have so many.

      1. A Sam Spade look would be so cool.
      2. Old Western look... brown leathers, vest, duster and hat.
      3. Layered old Victorian dress clothing.

    9. I want my dolls to wear casual clothes like me... if I had to choose a dream costume, I would do something PreCure-inspired. Or maybe a little witch costume.... ugh so many choices

    10. I really want to do a junihitoe kimono. I am just daunted by the task, even though I know I'll have to fake some of the layers for scale reasons.

    11. I want a couple of really nice yukatas in a specific color and style. Its really hard to find ones I like and the ones I found that I kind of like also end up being really expensive. I'm starting to think I should just buckle down and get to learning how to make them instead... :sweat

    12. Haute couture style clothing, like the mini dresses in Dior - Haute Couture in miniature

    13. Honestly 90s goth style clothing for 70cm guys is my dream! I have so many of my own clothes I wish I could find similar styles to in BJD size :(

    14. Yas @moredressfordolls! That is my dream, too. Christian Dior Haute Couture created these miniature dresses for their " Le Petit Théâtre Dior" Exhibit. It was a delight to see so many of their iconic looks scaled down; my favorite was seeing the Miss Dior dress from the Spring Summer 1949 Collection.

Then, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, they staged a digital show for their Haute Couture Fall 2020 season. To be fortunate enough to be a couture client to be sent these miniatures so the clients could inspect the detailed workmanship. I always wondered if the clients get to keep the minitures that were sent to them or if they are offered to purchase the miniture version as well.

    15. I always gravitate toward fantasy and 18th and 19th century stuff for my boys. I’d love to have them all in tailored suits with fitted waistcoats, coats, and beautiful shoes, maybe with some caps or top hats thrown in for good measure. That’s the dream.

    16. Thank you very much for sharing these vidoes. I cannot wait to watch all them.

    17. Really elaborate Masquerade/Carnevale style outfits (complete with tiny masks!) would be really nice, but I'd especially like a collection of little plague doctor masks for my dollies!

I found a pattern on Etsy that I just need to learn to size up, then hopefully I'll be able to make some of my own.~

    18. Those videos are so much fun to watch, and it is so informative to see these expert atelier workers create these beautiful, authentic haute-couture pieces on a miniature scale.

Years ago, I went to the avant-garde Viktor & Rolf exhibit in London for their 15th Anniversary retrospective called "The House of Viktor & Rolf" and was gobsmacked by seeing their clothes on a troupe of SD dolls inside an SD doll house. That was so decadent and surreal, and I recall coveting the dolls with the outfits.

They had another retrospective in 2018 to commemorate their 25th Anniversary in Australia, which I wish I had seen in person.

    19. A full suit of removable doll-scale armour with proper articulation and made of actual metal. If we're going with absolute dream, then I'd love it to be as beautifully etched, blued and decorated as Henry II of France's historical armour or George Clifford's.

Armour of George Clifford, Earl of Cumberland

I've had one go at metal doll-scale armour and I was happy-ish about how it came out. I'm going to have a go at more advanced doll scale armour with actual articulation this time. What I'd need for a full suit like that is someone who actually knows stuff about historical armour and how to feasibly miniaturise it as well as having the proper tools to do it not just me bumbling about trying stuff.

    20. @Crissaegrim - Back in December 2023, Sartoria J released a limited-edition Oscar SD Full Set along with a Vittoria Queen Full Set with a medieval suit. I am not sure if it was made of actual metal, but it looked so realistic.
