1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. ok thanks guys, i am trying to narrow down the list.... [to maybe a reasonable amount like 6 to 8] some dolls i'll have to hand carry, but i think i am better off shipping em straight to my dorm, i wun be having roomates, cos i think it'll scare the shit out of them with my messiness or with the kids... XD

its hard to narrow down.... :(

    2. i did a study in japan for only 4 months but i brought all my resin kids with me ^^
but back then i only had 3 dolls~ hmm my collection has exploded in the last 3 years i didn't realize til just now haha

    3. I took two of mine (Lati's) on holiday with me when I was going for a month. I then took all four of mine (Yo-SD and smaller) when I studied in America for a year. It's risky taking anything of value to a place where you'll share a room, but thankfully my room mate was pretty good with them!

    4. I'm hoping to go to Japan for a year next year, but I'm not going to bring any of my dolls with me. I prefer packing light, and I just feel they would be safest in their boxes in my closet while I'm away. In my opinion, there's too much opportunity for something to go wrong, and I'd rather not take the risk.

    5. Knowing me? the last time I went to Japan I was completely oblivious of dolls, aside from the Lolita's walking around in Harajuku. But when I go to study abroad in college, I'm defiantly taking my doll(s) with me. I think it really depends on where you are going to, and for what reason you are going there. C:

    6. I haven't studied abroad...yet, but I do plan on it! :)
When I do I guess it'll depend how long I'm staying.
I probably would only take a doll with if I'm there for a year or longer, and if thats the case I would only bring 1 Yo-SD or MSD.
I wouldn't want to deal with lugging an SD or larger with me. :P

    7. Whilst it's still in the planning stages, my dolls are definitely coming with me. If I have to, I'll just unstring them for lighter travel. I did fly on a vacation recently with one of my dolls, as she barely took up any room and was fine, so I'm not to worried about it. Although I only have 2 dolls so... it's a little easier. I do think if I had 6+ dolls I probably wouldn't bring that many dolls, but it's always up to the person. :)

    8. i took mine overseas :D the only thing that bothered me was that I had to be extra carefull all the time. I got paranoid sometimes xD but overall it's fun cuz maybe you will find a doll store or smth when you are at the place you are going.

    9. I’m on a long (much longer than ever expected) stay abroad just now and I have my most favorite SD with. Never regretted it, even when my luggage was stuffed and I had to carry it for many hours. It’s really nice to have a resin buddy with.
And since he is the only one with me now, I spoil him rotten.

    10. I probably wouldn't take any on my smaller vacations, which last about a week or two, but when I go to Europe for two months I'll probably take one of my smaller ones.

    11. I voted yes, simply because I wouldn't want to be away from them for too long... however, there is also the option of letting one of my doll friends watch them while I'm away if I don't want to pay the money to bring them on an airplaine.

    12. I was talking with my academic advisor last week, and when I told her I was taking the Japanese language path, she said, "Oh, good. We'll send you to Japan next semester." Thanks for the warning...?

Anyway, I'll only have one doll by that point, and he's MSD-sized, so I'd love to take him with me if only for a touch of "home." Plus, he'll be so much fun to go shopping with! X3 (But you'll be a full-time student! You won't have any money for shopping!)

Finally, bringing a doll is far easier than packing along my other hobby: cosplay. And I'll get fewer weird looks.

    13. I planned myself on studying abroad in next 2-3 years (long stay) and I try not to oversize my BJD family as I want to take all of them with me. I afraid that if I take only 1 doll with me I would want to buy more to be his/her friends (actually to be my resin friends ;P).

    14. I just got back from working in Japan for a year. When I left last year, I only had five dolls. None of them came with me right away, but my parents (who planned on mailing me things like winter clothes once I arrived and got settled in) agreed to mail two dolls to me. I bought three more while living in Japan and all five came home with me this month. So yeah, I did it, and when I go back to graduate school I'll bring them all with me then too, but given the cost and hassle involved in moving dolls from one place to another it's not something I would ever do if the move was going to be for less than a year.

I didn't worry much about natural disasters. My town got earthquakes, sure, but never anything that bad. I would walk into my room after an earthquake to check on everything and the dolls would be sitting exactly as they had been before the earthquake. Honestly, I worried more about what the heat of summer would do to them than I worried about anything else.

    15. I haven't been in this situation and at this point, probably never will be. But if I knew in advance I was going to live somewhere else for a year, I would probably make an effort to take a large girl with me.

But the specific choices would depend on how hospitable I feel the new location would be. If I was going to live with a family with children for example, I'd take a more cutesy and more durable girl. If I was living alone, I would take only what I could reasonably transport by myself. If didn't trust the area, I wouldn't take any at all.

And if I was in Asia, I'd figure I would most likely get one onsite anyway.

    16. I don't have many so I'd bring them all so they'd keep each other company while I was busy studying! :)

    17. I packed most of my dolls away like I was going to sell them, and put them in the darkest, most climate-controlled space in my mother's house (my apartment then/house now) would get HOT while I was gone. My favorite(s) of the time go with me.

    18. I would bring 1 or 2 dolls with me, and leave the rest behind. (Ofcourse for myself, I would bring as many as I could fit into my one doll carrier.)

My best friend moved to Korea for over a year, and she took several of her dolls with her (and not much else). I'm currently babysitting several of her dolls until she returns.

    19. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon but if it were to be for a month or longer I'd definitely bring my doll.

    20. I plan to bring all my boys with me if I'm (by God's grace) accepted to study in Japan for a year. It's not just a matter of missing them or needing something familiar from home with me, but also the fact that I'm a photography maniac xD and passing up an opportunity for an entire year of exciting new shoot locations is just an improbability for me.
