1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

When you are unhappy, do your dolls cheer you up? (Emotionally dependent on them?)

Nov 5, 2004

    1. Yes, ABSOLUTELY! I enjoy very much spending time with my dolls. I don't get an opportunity every day so relish the time when I do get it. If I'm stressed or upset I know that my dolls will cheer me up and I make a point to spend some time with them.

    2. I suppose so. They inspire me artistically and make me try things I wouldn't have before. They keep me sane, I suppose, haha.

    3. My previous work was really boring. When I got home, I felt really happy designing outfits for my dolls.

    4. Sometimes if I'm lonely and/or bored, I find that "playing" with my doll really helps. Usually I will try to think of a certain shot or a photostory that I would like to do, and I go from there. How will I style her hair? What will she wear? That sort of thing. :) It takes my mind away from whatever else.

I wanted to say that many of my old ball-jointed dolls actually had a negative affect instead, but my LatiBlue Yern makes me very happy. I am lucky to have her. :D

    5. Personally I've found it a challenge to interact with people at social events and even confiding in people when I encounter personal problems, and I do think my doll has helped me go through some tough, draining times, especially when I require someone to listen without comment.

Then again, I do the same to my cat too. :)

    6. Yes, they do cheer me up. They often help me to get rid of depressions.

    7. I guess I like to use them to help me get through stuff to talk to my one doll who is my protector character and hold onto him and talk stuff out with him But like right now they make me sadder because of the situation. So yes and No. Usually...

    8. I wouldn't consider myself emotionally dependent on my dolls but they sure do have an effect on my mood. For example, I've been saving to buy a Yo-Tenshi and I finally have enough money in my account. However, I've never had a female doll so I have to start from scratch and buy her new wigs and frilly dresses. Lately, after a long day at the school/lab, just coming home, getting online and browsing cute dresses has helping me relax a lot. It even surprises me how fast my mood changes from 'tired and sleepy' to 'cheerful and creative' in just minutes. Oh and I also realized I have an unhealthy interest in frills... And laces... And pink stuff... >__<

    9. Mine cheer me up! They are on a shelf in my bedroom where I can see them when I wake up!

    10. My dolls do cheer me up, after a long day of dealing with real people, it is nice to decompress with the resins. :)
