1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

When you fall OUT of love with a doll

Mar 2, 2011

    1. From when I first got into the hobby, I was 100% sure I only wanted SD sized dolls. I couldn't even think I'd own tiny or MSD sized, as they seeme way too small for me. But my first doll was a Soom Nenad, and I was really pleasantly surprised with her size. My second girl was SD sized, but the more I tried to get used to her, the more I realized she was just too big for me. I just fell completely out of love with the whole SD size lol
I now have a tiny and an MSD girl, and I couldn't be happier with them.

    2. And don't forgot faceups! if you love a doll with just about any faceup you LOVE the doll. If you like ONE doll you saw and then you look at more owner pictures of the same head mold and you don't like them very much. It was the faceup that did the trick that made you love it.

Best to really love the mold itself. Good luck you have every right to change you mind allot! ;)

    3. Much like Ehryn, I jumped into this hobby head first. I saw bjds for the first time at a big con in September, and by October I had ordered my first one. But I'm the sort of person that tends to pretty quickly whether something is right for me or not, so it worked well for me. Still, my first doll isn't a doll that would be on my wish-list these days, in fact, I already had a wish-list and he wasn't on it back then when I ordered him!

It just goes to show, things change a lot, and that's okay! I've fallen out of love with sculpts many times- including Iple's Vito funny enough. I loved him when he came out, and then not so much once he was a standard sculpt- I realized later that it was the resin colour that made me change, I thought he was infinitely cuter in real-skin or light tan even. And that's how it stands now: he's back on my wish-list (after having been on then off again) in a different colour!
