1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. Whenever I collect things, I always keep the boxes they came in, cos it adds to the value/appeal. I also keep them, to protect my dolls in the best way possible if I need to move, etc. It's stored away in my closet cos I want to keep them in mint condition. XD;

      Lol, me too. ;)

    2. I keep all boxes sent my way for re-use, but my doll boxes are stacked up behind my bedroom door. They're too big to have anywhere else in my tiny room so I use other things to store doll clothes.

    3. My luts box I got is my Tsuba's bed, its handy coz I dont need to buy bed for him.

    4. I don't have a doll yet, but my box will be kept as a defense and protection against my boyfriend's cat. She'll destroy my boy if she gets the chance, so the box is his shield against the demon.

    5. I keep the box in case I resell the doll. I have resold my big ones and the biggest I have now is Unoa, I mostly have Petite Ai/Yo SD size, so the boxes are not too big fortunately. I don't think I'll keep all my dolls forever, my collection keeps evolving, I buy some and sell some, so I prefer to keep the boxes to have something to sell the dolls in.

    6. I converted my box into a bed for Samara. I made little sheets and comforters to fit the shipping pillows too, I wish I had a picture to show you.

    7. Aww ^_^
I'm keeping the box Drea comes in. I might get it specially reinforced (read, DUCT TAPED) and use it as anti-dog insurance.

    8. I doon't have a box except for the not quite a foot long cardboard shipping box my boy came in ^.^() he's a UFK.
I am however keeping all the face-up stuff I got in it.

    9. The big brown box got ripped up in the process of opening it a bit to excitedly, and the blue box is currently being used as a bed, until I find one the right size that I like. I already had pillows and blankets of that size. Dashiell already has a comfy lounge chair and a wardrobe with drawers and hangers. All my old american girl furniture and accessories really came in handy.

    10. I have kept the boxes, mostly to store their accessories and clothes and things in.

    11. Hmmn... they're in my closet. I think I should get rid them because I doubt I'll ever sell my dolls. But then if I have to move, they would be nice to have for packing...

    12. I shove them under my bed with all their stuff (clothes, wigs, etc) in it. <3

    13. Every time I see this thread title I read it as 'what do you do with the boxers?'

Personally, I put the boxes in the loft, except for Farah's one, which I use as a storage space for all my doll sutff.

    14. :P i keep my box useing it as a bed >.> i don thinkid want to throw it away even if i had a bunch there cool i think : D

    15. Ok, I know they come in handy for storing & shipping dolls but how do you really feel about them as far as affecting price or the decision to buy a doll? Does the absence of box affect your decision in any way?

I'm asking since I really need to make room here & would love to toss them if most people don't think they're that important. I mean you're buying a doll, not a box really.

    16. I honestly would never purchase a doll without her box..I mean not only does it protect the doll but its very convenient during moves etc.
It also makes the doll seem more "new" .. I dont know how to explain it but, the box seems to be a part of the doll, atleast to me anyway.

    17. Agreein' wit dis. ^
For some reason, the presence of a box really does make a difference in my mind.

    18. No. Ive bought School heads from Volks before, and they only come in small plastic boxes. I realize that the head and facemold is the most important part of the doll, as I look to these dolls as vessels for my characters so the default faceup, wigs, eyes, boxes, etc. are not as important unless they suit my character.

I have a carrier, so I dont need the box. Besides, I live in a small apartment, so the box just takes up space, as I usually keep my dolls sitting or propped on walls.

But I recently purchased a Volks Williams. I still own the box in perfect condition, even if it does take up space. I do keep it in good condition and I wont throw it away, but thats more due to the "collector" and packrat inside of me. Ive already sold his default wig and clothes, since I know I would never use them. But Im not so exactly sure if I would sell the box as well. Do people ever sell their boxes or give them away?

    19. My boxes are very important, considering I would not have a safe place to store my dolls without them. When I'm done taking photos and playing with them, I strip them down, pop them back in the boxes, and slide them away under my bed. Safe from my cat, the sun, and my clumsy self!

    20. For me it does. I absoultely care about my doll's boxes. I will probably refuse to buy a doll if their box has imperfections. If I really want the doll badly enough, I would never pay as much for them as I would if the box was damaged or if they didn't have the box. I just feel that the box is very important to me as well as the doll itself. It makes me think that having a imperfect box/no box feels like it's incomplete and somethings missing. I have a Volks Williams and his box was perfect then before I know it, my baby cousin smashed it and I cried alot... Just the knowing that it was once perfect/in good condition makes me feel terrible about it when I see a beat up box... It just really upsets me how alot of people don't care about this. I cherish my dolls and their boxes because they're precious to me. Sadly, I don't know anyone who thinks of it the same way I do.
