1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. Though I have no intention of selling my two dolls, I have saved their original boxes. I bought white, flour sack dishtowels to line their boxes (they act as bumpers/cushions) for storage or transport. Psylzen's storage/travel box came in handy when I brought her to my in-law's house to show her off.

I bought a small cedar chest at the flea market and store the boxes, clothes, wigs, etc in it. But the dolls themselves are kept in my curio cabinet when I'm not playing with them.

    2. I keep all (well, one so far but all will be kept) my boxes as I do with everything - I have boxes for long lost toys from 15 years ago that I don't want to throw away.

Not to mention that aside from my hoarding nature, they're good sturdy boxes which I can keep stuff in ^_^

    3. My dolls sleep in there boxes while I'm not playing with them. They share boxes and I keep the extra ones on top of my wardrobe.

    4. I have everybody's boxes. They are stored in the rafters of my garage. If I didn't have the room for them, I wouldn't worry about keeping them though.

When I buy a doll it doesn't really matter to me if I get the original box or not, as long as the doll is packed well and protected for shipping.

    5. So far I've kept all my boxes but with the number of dolls I have & the lack of storage space, I'd love to pitch them but once I did a survey & it seems that original boxes are important to many people. Personally I don't care. I've bought a number of secondhand dolls that didn't have boxes & as long as they're wrapped in miles of bubble wrap & packed securely, I'm happy. It's just one less thing to store.

One of things that I like about Iplehouse is that the dolls come in useful carriers instead of boxes. And Bobobie sends them in little padded bags.

    6. I kept Mine, Its his bed ;)

    7. I will probably keep my boxes, I have a shelf in my closet cleaned out and I already have two pullip boxes there.

    8. I kept them here in our apartment till all the face-ups and sueding and whatever were done, then I bring them to our storage unit. I just don't have the room to keep them here as much as I may want to.

    9. I've just got the one box, and I keep it for my boy to hide in when I let my rats out to play; they like to chew expensive things.

    10. The kids I bought from doll companies both have their boxes (one stored in my mom's closet, the other is in the living room) but neither of my preloved kids came with the original box. Probably better for me for storage purposes! I have zero room in my house for stuff like that.

    11. So basically then, people are not that bothered about the box when they buy on the secondary market, just that the doll is packaged safely and securely, would you say?
I think I should have made myself clearer in my first post!!

    12. i keep all the boxes, incase i wanted to sell them, or for the "complete" doll feeling xD. When i sell, i send them in their original boxes cuz i feel its nice to have the boxes they came in for the new owners.

I dont have any problem with storing my boxes xD ive just stuck em wherever i am at the moment.
"Oh theres an empty spot in the house with nothing in it!" xD
I even keep the shipping boxes my dolls or doll stuff have come in xD; and any and all bubble wrap and packing peanuts.

    13. I've never bought a doll on the second-hand market but if I did I would be happier if the original box was included. I know it's a silly thing but I like to keep the boxes.

It certainly makes moving a lot easier. I moved about 5 months ago and I was really glad when I did that I had kept the boxes. I felt like they were more secure in the boxes they came in than in the bag I use when I take them all places.

    14. Currently the boxes are all crammed under my bed among other things.

(and currently Im running out of room for them there XD)

    15. One of my boys is second-hand so I don't have his box. However, I keep my dollzone box in my table, because is there where my children are all the time I'm not home or have things to do. I'll glady use the next one to keep clothes, now I'm using a shoes box and it's too small.

    16. If I'm buying a doll second-hand, I do prefer to have the original box. Especially if its a limited doll.

I, personally, keep all my doll boxes & have started keeping a few of the shipping boxes (which will come in handy, both for selling my own dolls, and also for shipping items from group orders - makes everybody happier when they don't have to pay for shipping supplies ^_^).

    17. I have the original boxes for my Volks girls and with my DOD kids, they never came with a box. So far, these boxes are just holding my doll clothes and accessories. I keep shipping boxes too, because most of them come with packaging nuts and bubble wrap. As you might expect, those boxes hold all the things I need to ship out stuff. =P

    18. I only have one box because I only have one doll, so it's not a big problem for me yet. I use it to keep my boy during the day, seeing as though I'm only home at night anyway (also, I'm paranoid about him catching sunlight ). So I guess it's his bed at the moment.

    19. Mine came in one box(delivery box), and a bag. (people with DoC's might know what I'm saying.)

The delivery box is going to be made into a Twilight Town Prop for Kotori's Olette Cosplay. The back of it will have a storage spot in it. xD If I ever get around to it, I'll post it somewhere on here.

    20. Haha, I'm actually using the cardboard box as a table. XD It makes a really good table actually. It's sturdy and light so I can move it anywhere I like. As for the actual doll box, I made it into a bed for my boy. :)
