1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. Keep them! For now at least...
I usually put my dolls back in their boxes everyday because my bedroom has a huge window with crappy blinds that don't keep the light out very well.
Although I don't think I'd ever throw their boxes away, not only are they good if I ever plan to sell my dolls (which I don't ;D), but I'm just sentimental like that, I could never throw away a pretty box. XD

    2. Thrown and shoved in a closet XD Its a mess, freaking huge boxes @_@

    3. To save space and sanity I threw out most of mine with the exception of one, to keep floating heads, and doll things in [clothes/wigs/etc] Unless it was a limited doll with a special box..I usually have no attachment to the box. ^^

    4. hi
i always keep all the boxes and all the bubble wrap and pillows that come with the doll. i consider that all the wrapping add to the value of the dolls and is a safer way to ship. of course you would need another cardboard box for the outside.
i keep all the boxes in our attic with mothballs nearby to discourage any insect interlopers. (lol)

    5. Mine are slowly taking over the two (large) closets in my bedroom. I've just about run out of room, though...and I don't want to have to break them down!! :...( I think I'll have to start putting them under my bed, too.

    6. my doll boxes go into the boxes they came in from the company then into the attic until I need them. Why would I need them? when I move house they all go in their boxes, I recently moved internationally and cannot tell you how happy I am to have kept those boxes all this time.

    7. I don't keep dolls in boxes, and I don't have place to store them so off they go. I keep doll's clothes, shoes and wigs in 3 of them though, but that's all. And I still hope to replace at least two of them with chests.

If (everything may happen) I'll need to sell any of my dolls, I'll try to do it in my city first and will hope for the better. Happily we have rather large doll community here.

    8. Still intact, stuffed in one corner of my room, Kal still use the box he came with as his bed... so it comes in handy ^^''

    9. I think they are good to use as beds and store inside clothing and wigs. That's what I'll do :XD:

    10. I threw away the B&G box, because it wasn't very nice.

But I have my Doll in Mind box sitting on top of a tall cupboard; the cupboard is too high to really put anything up there that has to be accessed on a daily or semi-regularly basis. So it's a good out-of-the-way spot. I couldn't throw away the DIM box, it was just awesome.

    11. i have one under my bed, one on top of my wardrobe and one sitting randomly in the middle of the floor. i have no idea where i'm going to put my next one. maybe i can put a smaller one inside it. xD; i had to get rid of a bunch of crap from under my bed to be able to fit one in there.

    12. I do that:sorry It just seems like the safest place for them to be - all cuddled up in their pillows and away from sunlight, as well as it saves me some room. I imagine them sleeping whenever I tuck them away... ;)

    13. I have a room near my garage that I use to storage all that I don't use, dolls' boxes too.

    14. I can't wait to get my first BJD and his box........

though, at the rate the husband and I are buying "stuff", the box will be too small!! LOL

    15. I personally keep my boxes, I keep their paperwork ( if they have any) in them, and any extra bits I'm not using. Also because I consider the dolls to be collectible, and I want to have all the parts they came with, since the boxes arent crappy plastic, and are usually very pretty and have a company logo on them, I keep them. Mostly though, I keep them because I feel attached to them.
They live under my bed, and on the lower hafl of a bookshelf.

I also have a friend who uses them for beds.

I've seen several people actually sell their doll boxes on Ebay.
Maybe for people who bought a doll used, that had no box, but they wanted one.
So you might consider that. ^_^

    16. I keep my boxes under my bed. At least, most of my boxes are under my bed. I've run out of room there and I have a couple of boxes down stairs in the family room, one of them behind the couch. Yeah, it's getting a bit crowded around here.

    17. I have both my girls' boxes. Davey's fits on the bookcase in my room and has several of thier clothes in it. Alice's is in my closet because it won't fit on the shelf. But I am keeping them. They'll come in handy when I move and until then they hold clothes, props and pillows.

    18. Lol the MSD boxes are in the cloest, the puki box is being cute on a shelf and the Bobobie SD box is stashed in a corner with other stuff.
I move a lot, seems once a year honestly, so the boxes are good for safe moving.
Also, though I never intended to sell any of my dolls I did end up selling one and was glad to have kept her box.
I wish I could keep boxes under my bed... But the dogs have decided that anything under my bed is their personal chew toy so no doll boxes under there! Plus, the boxes are good for keeping dolly clothing so we don't want the pups gnawing away on those XD

    19. I'm yet to buy a complete doll, that's it, the head and the body together. I tend to buy from different stores (head from one, body from another, clothes from this, eyes from that, wigs from that other one, and so on) and thus, I'm left with lots of cardboard boxes. Beside that, my siblings and friends also ask me to get things for them from online stores (right now I have five preorders for them), so more boxes! I don't throw them away, though. Most of the boxes are sturdy cardboard, and big, so I think it's a waste to trash them - so I try to "recycle". Reuse would be more accurate. I've made a room box for my smaller fashion dolls and I'm thinking of making a bigger one for my BJD, but my current problem is that I don't have enough room for such a big diorama of sorts.

And about keeping dolls in their boxes... well, I don't want to do that with my BJD because, after all I had to do in order to get it, I don't entertain the idea of keeping it stored on a shelf or under my bed. Nah, I need to show him off :) But I must confess that I've stored my and put away gashapon collection in order to make some room for my BJD. I hope the smaller resin family doesn't get mad at me for that - hoping they can wait until I buy another shelf or any other piece of furniture to put them back in display.

    20. i also use them to store wigs and dollclothes in, or sometimes, to keep doll
