1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. I keep the boxes, so if I sell a doll, the owner has the option of having the original box. If they don't want it, I will usually recycle it. :)

I keep them for myself, just in case I move and need a safe place to pack my dolls - I don't have to go looking for boxes! It also helps to keep 325032 doll pillows from being all over my room. xD

    2. Almost all the "outside" boxes of my packages go to recycling garbage. I only keep two big ones for storage. All the "inside" boxes my BJD came and arrived in are on the top shelf in one of my wardrobes, although I keep my BJD within several bags and a trolley suitcase I bought for them. Besides, as I ordered three complete BJD to get the events sets heads and I sold three 1/3 BJD bodies to people nearby, I always have some extra box for the case I may sell the body I have on sale nowadays.

    3. In our house we save all of ours and use them for storage of doll related things, for some reason we can't bear to throw them out even though the dolls will probably never go back in them. A consequence of this is that we have piles of doll boxes all over the damn lounge and conservatory! We're currently using an Iplehouse box as a sort of coffee table

    4. One box is collecting dust, but one box is (as most people seem to use them) a "bed" for my doll. When she's not out she is carefully packed away between the cushions. I like having a place to keep her where I don't worry about damage. I really ought to get rid of the other box, as it belongs to a doll I no longer own, but I'm somewhat sentimentally attached to the box? XD Eventually I'll work up the nerve and recycle it.

    5. They're stacked in my closets (I have two and they're huge, thankfully) and the shipping boxes I packed stuff in for my move to FL. It's important to save the boxes, if you need to suddenly store your doll, move, hide it or something, and yes this does happen, SELL IT - you'll need that box!

    6. They are currently being stored at the top of my closet. The bigger shipping boxes that the dolls come in sit in my garage. I keep all of the boxes cause I never know when I'll need one.

    7. I have a hallway closet in my new apartment that is an awkward shape and extremely deep can serve no practical purpose whatsoever. However, the bottom half of it is PERFECTLY sized for storing doll boxes. I have 10 SD boxes, 2 MSD and a tiny all neatly stacked in there.

    8. Nothing too special, I just keep mine stacked in the closet. I use them to store the pillows as well as any pamphlets or papers that came with the doll.

    9. I always wanted to use them as little beds for my boys but when I moved back to my home country with them, I had to throw their boxes away ._. Took up too much space, so I couldn't take them. I kept their pillows though :XD: and use these instead.
Plus, they stay in my wardrobe whenever I'm not there and I like it that way. I wouldn't put them in box-beds now anyways, I'd rather build them a real one (real meaning a little sturdier, preferably made of wood) at some point.

    10. I save plenty of boxes, from figurine ones, to doll ones, to console and computer ones. I inherit it from my mom, and my justification is for when I have to move (which is inevitable). It's much easier and safer to used the original box something came in than to hope something else works as well. Luckily, I have a huge pole barn with a second story devoted to storage (the first story if devoted to cars), so I don't have a problem with storing mine. If it's just for doll boxes, I'd say get rid of them, but if you have other stuff you want to store but don't have room for, I'd suggest renting a storage unit.

    11. I keep all the boxes and packaging as I like to keep the dolls in their boxes when they're not being played with. Sometimes I resell dolls and like to send them off to their new owners as close to complete as possible.

    12. I only have three dolls, my IH Tatiana, my Latidoll Reina, and my puki Piki. The last two were used, but Puki's are tiny and come in the adorable story book boxes, so I kept that (plus she stays in there a lot). My Reina didn't come in her orinigal box, and the one she came it got damaged, so it was trashed. My Midori is never in her box, but I kept because it's sturdy and If I need to put her in it for storage or moving, I like box she came in. I don't know what I'd do with having a very large number of dolls, but right now I have a very tall closet so I could just stick them up there.

    13. They're the perfect height to fit under my bed so that's where I store them. I sometimes keep my dolls in them or I can use them for random foating heads for clothes. I keep them incase I decide to sell them as well as I seem to have a constant need/use for boxes. :) I don't seem to get more than 3 at a time though so not so bad to store in general.

    14. My first doll was shipped to me in an actual carrier so I had no problem with boxes. Then I got my second doll and my friend gave me hers. My tiny room can't fit the boxes so I put them up in the attic just in case I ever need them again.

    15. I have four dolls, one box got damaged by water in storage. Since three is not such a terrible number of boxes (especially since they're pretty), I use them for storing doll stuff. I suppose when my collection gets bigger, I would keep the prettier and limited edition boxes over the more plain ones if the amount of boxes got too overwhelming to have around.

    16. I store all her clothes and accessories in her box, and then I put it on the shelf in my closet. I only have 1 right now. But soon I hope to get another. :3 and i'll do the same with his box.

    17. The packing box got recycled - we don't have the room for big cardboard boxes hanging around the place, haha! But I've kept both of my dolls' boxes and use them as beds for them. :3 They sit on my dresser and Hakkai and Kazuki each sleep in their own respective boxes. I'll probably keep doing this for future dolls, unless I run out of space for the boxes, in which case they might end up under the bed or something. xD Er, the boxes-- not the dolls!

    18. That's actually a good idea, but I don't know if I could bear to cut any of my boxes.... Right now I just keep them and they just take up space but I'm afraid to throw them away what if it comes back to haunt me ( now I'm thinking of BJD box ghosts).

    19. I've kept them just in case I should need them for anything (moving, selling the dolls ect) but they take up way too much room since both hubby and I collect primarily 60+ cm dolls and we have several. Right now they are stacked in our shed, the temp changes are less extreme there than in the attic. I suppose they will probably stay there indefinitely.

    20. I have my boxes stored up in my room on a closet but I am running out of space badly now. I doubt I will sell any of my dolls but I will try to store the boxes up in the attic, we have hidden closets there but its stuffed with old baby things from me. I doubt my mother wants to save that stuff concidering I am 30 now lol.
