1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. I have all of my boxes, all eleventy-billion of them. I store the smaller ones inside the bigger ones, and the whole lot in the attic. I always prefer to have the box when adopting, even though I have no intention of ever reselling the dolls. It's just a completist thing.

    2. I keep mine. The boxes are just nice and they come with the bedding plus I don't have a carrying case for my doll. I even tuck away some of my doll's things in it.

    3. oddly enough my dad wanted the felix brownie boxes and told me to put them aside
the only time he seemed mad about me getting a doll was really only a diversion from him being mad about my messy room *shrug*

    4. well for me, i took the mailing box and put my smaller craft boxes and loose faceup / maintenance supplies in it.
as for the company issued box thingy that the actual doll was in, after i had unpacked the doll i pulled out the pillow, took the box, put a looped peice of tape on each end, then attached bubble wrap to the top of the box. then layed the pillow ontop of the wrap and dressed up the box as a bed for my girl.
since the pillow was silky, the bubble wrap was applied for traction. it definitely keeps the pillow from slipping and sliding when taking my dolly out of bed for play.

other than that i tossed the rest of the packing materials, i think i'd only keep the company boxes as beds for the dollies if i ordered another doll.

    5. I don't have that many dolls yet, but currently I am keeping the boxes~ partly for remembrance and also partly to temporary store all the clothings I bought for my dolls until I find a permanent space for all my BJD stuff. XD And by boxes, I mean the company issued doll boxes and not those brown outer mailing boxes. XD

    6. I used to keep all my boxes but stopped since those boxes are plied up to ceiling lol
so, what I did was tried to fill boxes with dolls and other items, and throw away the empty ones...

sometimes, I use my new doll box as a bookshelf. great for small books.

    7. I have 11 dolls, but not everyone has boxes. I keep mine because I've had to move alot in the last few years, and I've come to enjoy keeping a few of them. My favourite are the Volks dolls I got direct nearly direct. And, I'm not afraid to hunt for a particular sculpt's box. Heh.

    8. I even keep my boxes from swaps! They're where I keep my dollstuff.

    9. Yeah, one or two of my cats are probably going to get comfy in the box when I get my doll. I tried saving the box when I got my other dolls since it was so cute; but my room gets cluttered pretty badly, and eventually they got smashed and thrown out. As I am hoping to get some shelves and other stuff soon to help control said bad clutter, maybe I'll get an extra box or two.

    10. I don't have that many dolls right now but I do keep my boxes. I can't imagine a box attracting insects or getting MOLDY in my home.....maybe if they were stored in a damp basement or something??
I tend to keep accessories that I'm not using in them, eventually I'd like to try to make a couch/bed out of one maybe. Right now I'm actually short on boxes because I bought a couple artist dolls, they don't sometimes come in a doll box per se. Then I sold a couple though, and I like to send them to their new owners in a nice doll box, not just a cardboard box, so I used the ones from my dolls who DID come in boxes. I have another msd I would like to put up for sale but no box to ship her in nicely. Maybe those with extras should sell them inexpensively, or even offer them for postage if they don't feel good charging for them? I'd buy a couple.....LOL!

    11. I only have two big boxes, as two of my dolls came unstrung from personal sellers, but they were getting bulky in my closet, and I really don't need them anyway. One was an old dollmore box that didn't even belong to the doll that came in it, and one is a Kizdoll Saiy box which is nothing spectacular. They were being used as tool storage, but then I bought a nice Tupperware for that, so the other day, I turned my old beat up dollmore box into a bed!

I took the two halves, taped them together, hot glued on a bed skirt with pleats, and then made sheets, pillows and blankets :) My Kizdoll box is in trouble now. I'm thinking about turning it into a book shelf for doll props or maybe a head board for this bed I made :)

    12. Now that's what I'm talking about..........VERY nice!! Oh, now I want some boxes to play with, dang it.

    13. I have almost all my boxes. For most of them, I have unfolded them, and then folded them flat and they are all put away under the bed. A few boxes don't really go flat easily or the box was just to nice, so I have about four just stacked in the closet. The pillows I've mostly gotten rid of, made doll bags out of them, and sold them off. I keep a few for padding in my doll carrier but that's all.

    14. Thank you! It was a lot of fun and only really took me about an hour and a half. I used all used items. Old sheets I don't need, a gross old blanket, some old packing foam for the mattress! It was a blast :)

    15. I honestly don't know where my Little Alice's box went. I never really saw it after I got home from the Dolls Party in NYC. :sweat I'll go look for it later.

    16. I'll probably dump them in my storage room in the basement of the appartment building, where I keep unneccesary stuff... I don't think I'd use the boxes at all but would keep them around just in case.

    17. Mine was thrown away by my family :( They thought I doesn't want it anymore which is what I did to the toy boxes usually-_-;...I think keeping one or two of the boxes is fine but keeping over 10 might be taking up most of the empty spaces in my room!I'm sure it's useful for storing stuffs like doll accessories, clothes etc since those stuffs need storage space as well~_~"

    18. For my previous offtopic dolls and my ontopic resin babies, I always recycle their shipping containers, and depending on the quality of their actual box, recycle or maintain. Of course, my pukipukis are much easier to store - I like keeping them in my bookcase because they're just darling like that.

    19. I keep both the outer shipping box and the inner doll box. I even have an extra box because I sold a doll and ended up unstringing and shipping it in a smaller box to save on shipping costs. Right now I have room for them, but I'm sure at some point when I move out of home I will have to decide which ones to keep!

    20. My dolls spend alot of their time in their boxes in order to keep them safe from mother nature, pets, and any visitors with grabby hands who may somehow find their way to my room. My bed is just the perfect height that doll boxes slide under there so I keep them there. Turns useless dust bunny space into a functional storage area that's pretty hidden from people, sunlight and any accidental stepping ons/bumps. When I sell the doll they usually go in their original box and if not, I usually recycle the boxes or give them to my mom to store breakables if she wants.
