1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. I keep them in my loft which has just been converted so now I have no where to store them.
However they were necessary to store them in whilst my house was being remodelled.
I will therefore need to find somewhere else to store them.

    2. I always keep the boxes. In some I keep doll stuff (clothes, wigs, some such), in some I keep the heads that are waiting for a body, but some are empty. The empty ones I store - my parents have a very big house, so I can keep them in their storage room, incase I'll one day sell a doll the box belonged to. I could never imagine throwing the boxes away.

There was one I did throw away - it belonged to a doll that had seen several owners, and the doll was a very specially modded basic doll, which was, thanks to the moddings, a one of a kind, so I knew I'd definitely never ever was going to sell him. The box, on the other hand, was not better for the wear: it was torn, tattered, and filthy. So, because I know I'm never going to sell the doll, I threw away the tattered box.

    3. Shipping boxes have always gone straight into the cardboard recycling unless I needed the cardboard.

When it was only my DZ girl, her box was the clothes store.

      With my current housing situation and having 5 dolls now, I have kept them and they are used for storage of things I don't use or won't be needed regularly;
I know there is autnenticity cetificates, manuals, spare elastic, my DZ girl's high heeled feet, my Beyla,s human legs, carry pillows and several pairs of shoes in the boxes.

The boxes also 'store each other' like a russian doll to save space, the fairyland box is in the Soom box which is in the Dollzone box (which also holds the carrier floppy came in) which is in the Souldoll box.
The boxes are really so nice, its hard to throw them out. I figure if I could condence them like this I could kind of justify keeping them around.

    4. With my very first 'straight-from-the-company' doll, I had a tough time throwing out the box. But, I finally came to terms with the fact that I simply don't have room for it. I barely have room for the things we NEED and USE. My boyfriend threw the box away eventually, though I think he unknowignly threw away the cushion that was INSIDE the box too :'(

    5. I only have 2 dolls right now, one tiny, one SD. I've kept both boxes. Being a college student I move often. I have owned my doll for less than a year now and have already moved twice. For moving I have packed my dolls back in their original boxes since I don't have any sort of carrying case and my family (don't know much about the dolls) helps me move. I store them in my closet between moves. i will consider getting rid of my boxes once I have a more permanent home.

    6. Generally I use my doll boxes as storage for my dolls lol. Since each doll has their own box, it means no fighting over who owns what :P

The shipping boxes are usually recycled though...

    7. I use them for storage. Paints, fabric, whatever. They're sturdy, and I'd like to keep them around just in case I sell a doll.

    8. I used them to store all my doll's stuff that they aren't currently using or wearing, and I put my dolls in them when I moved to keep them safe.
I kept the boxes under my bed, before I moved.

    9. My boyfriend and I are big figure collectors (so, smaller boxes, but many more of them, probably) and I actually had to convince him to toss the ones he'd been saving when he moved from his mom's house into our apartment.

I have the kind of grandma with halls covered in books and a kitchen table covered in old mail and magazines, so I'm particularly paranoid about packratting useless stuff (an odd contrast with my otherwise materialistic/hoarding personality).

    10. I found out that the original boxes (not the mailing, outer ones) are awesome as a storage place for dolly clothes, accesories, tools and etc...Sometimes I use them as a carrier, when I travel with my dolls, sometimes when I'm leaving for a long time and I can't take my crew with me I just nicely pack them into their boxes and shove them into the wardrobe or something xD

Beside, I like them and I just don't have the heart to throw them out :) :sweat

    11. I keep my boxes if i ever sale a doll i would like for her to be safe when she travels. I'm using one of my boxes as a bed right now. So it works great for now.

    12. I have used them for beds before. But now I have too many, so they're all in a stack under my desk at the moment. I use them to put my dolls in for moving or holidays, or for storage when I go away. They would also be useful if I ever have to sell them in the future.

    13. I have one on a shelf in my closet, and one on top of a bookshelf in my living room. I imagine I'll start just stacking them all atop various bookshelves. If I ever sell them, god forbid, I want to ship my dolls in their original boxes. Besides, their certificates and spare bodyparts are in there. *morbid grin*

    14. Shipping boxes go straight to recycling. Doll boxes are for storing dolls inside. There was one box made of flimsy cardboard that I had to throw away and replace by a hard cardboard one (with metal handles, even) for one of my dolls, and another doll that came unassembled and "compressed" with no fancy box, but the other boxes are in use.

    15. I put it under my bed. :D

    16. I only have one doll so keeping the box isn't a problem at the moment. I'm moving in a couple weeks anyway and I don't want her to get hurt in the move. :/ I would be devestated.

    17. I keep all the boxes to everything I buy especially my DDs. The box itself to me seems to be an important part of the DD in general.

    18. I have all my boxes including the shipping boxes. They used to live in my loft but since I now live in an appartment they all live in my mums loft! I just can't part with them.

    19. I keep them for as long as I have enough storage in the garage. And because there are no boxes of that size in the Netherlands, they're useful when I have to ship out a doll.

    20. keep my dolls' boxes even though have limited space in the flat. recently stuff them in the large cardboard boxes and store them in the downstairs room oh!
