1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. All my boxes are put under my bed=D
I don't like putting my dolls in the boxes...

    2. Somewhere under my bed there's a great place for BJD boxes. It's good to have only MSDs :) Their boxes are rather small.
Oh, and of course in one of the boxes I keep my doll stuff, clothes, some fabric etc

    3. As my boxes are small (Puki) and are so adorable I have them onthe shelf of my desk.
      Fairyland boxes are love * w *

    4. Currently, my BJD box doubles as a bed for Meili. And it's on two sewing machine boxes (full of fabric meant for her clothes) in a corner of a room, between two cupboards. It's practical and no-one will sit on her or the box. XD

    5. the boxes live in the doll shelves but near the bottom where i wouldn't want to put my dolls, if i get anymore dolls i'll have a space problem though XD

    6. My dolls boxes are actually in a different country from myself and the dolls right now... I refuse to get rid of the things for numerous reasons, but just don't have the space for them in my term-time accommodation. So they stay stacked up at the foot of my bed back in my room in Holland, and I bring my dolls across to England in their carrier bag... all 7 of them. In one bag. Yeah.

When I have the boxes with me, I use them for storing the dolls stuff quite a lot. Back when I had just my first doll, his box used to double as a bed for him.

    7. I have one of my boxes (inside of the huge box it came in!) under the bed, and one standing up...next to my closet. :? I have a lot of space under my bed, so I should probably put the one next to the closet under there too... :sweat

    8. Boxes in bags in attic for now.

    9. I never keep my dolls in their boxes~but I put accessories in boxes

    10. I have searched for a similar thread, please let me know if I just ovelooked it...
I am wanting to know your opinion on how important it is to keep the maker's box our dolls come in, ie; Dollstown,Dollzone, ect. ? I guess keeping boxes would be for possible reselling?
Please give me your opinion...I am moving and do not have storage room for boxes, as I keep my dolls on shelves. Thanks! *_*

    11. I personally think they're pretty important.

I like keeping them for storage myself, and in the instance I ever decide to sell a doll I have the box.

A lot of people like it when you include the box/paperwork along with the sale of a doll.

      :)

    12. I kept my doll's box, and it wasn't because I would possibly sell her. It's just a handy storage container.

    13. If you don't have room just keep a couple, they are good for storage etc. I am sure you can think of ways to repurpose them, it's good to have just in case.

    14. I've kept every box any of my dolls came in... Not because I intend to sell them, my babies are here to stay. But as mentioned they do make good storage and at least one of them is being used to make a doll sofa/storage container for my boys. It just makes sense for me. Plus I keep all my dolls spare bits and pieces in it.

    15. I have kept all the boxes. I don't plan on selling them ever, but the boxes are very handy when moving and such.
But if you don't have any space for them, you can try to carefully cut them open at the sides so you can flatten the boxes.

    16. I keep all my boxes. Even before I even considered doll resale, I liked to have them around because it almost felt like my doll's 'second home'. Plus, doll boxes make great storage for doll clothes. And are awesome, also, for packing your dolls while moving them.

    17. I keep all my boxes :-D
I realy like the boxes they came with ;-)
Also if I had to move again someday, they will be good to have the dolls in ;-) And I like lokking at them.

    18. Yeah, I hate to keep all of these huge boxes in the apartment, but I feel I have to! It really is just better for each of them to have a 'home' box to be able to retreat to, in the event of moving or (god forbid) selling. My apartment is blessed with many good deep closets, though; in a 1-bedroom apartment I manage to have 31 dolls and all of their boxes. ^^

Some people I know flatten the boxes for storage. I can't bring myself to break some of these lovely boxes, though. Especially the pretty pearly ones from Volks. ;; Besides, the boxes are handy to store the doll's option-parts, any unused fullset gear, & special packaging materials (those foam blocks, facebubbles, etc).

If you collect tinies & MSDs, I would imagine you have so much more free closet-space left than I do... ;; If you like dolls 65cm & over, their boxes get absolutely enormous! The Iplehouse EID box could be used to smuggle small children across international borders. Really a storage commitment.

But mine make themselves useful: two or three EID boxes, stacked together & draped with fabric, makes a dandy photo-stage, with enough flat space for a sofa & table & three SD13s.

    19. I keep mine to store my lot in, as they need safe places to go when I'm not doing anything with them. My boxes are badly beat up though, because I used them as shipping boxes for dvds and books and things when I moved home from Japan last year :sweat. The dolls came with me in my luggage . . . But those boxes really earn their keep, so I won't get rid of them.

    20. I think I have three doll boxes. I have more dolls than boxes for sure. I just don't see the point, I hate clutter and having these giant hunks of cardboard taking up space bothers me. I have all of my doll things carefully put away and organized in my doll trunk, and when I do sell a doll I provide absolutely safe and adequate shipping (I know a guy who makes boxes to size for his postal service shop).

I get why some people hang on to them, but for me and my preferences it doesn't make sense.
