1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Nov 1, 2004

    1. Though we moved out of our gigantic house into a condo, thank goodness we have BIG storage in our building. That's where I keep my boxes, old files, stacks of photo albums, and fabric--quilting is my other passion.

    2. Luckily, only two of my five have come with boxes, so I don't have this problem yet. But if I do end up with more boxes, I'll probably break them down. Right now, I actually use them as storage for their stuff and shove the boxes under my bed (dorm rooms are very small places).

    3. I keep all the boxes and shippers in a messy pile up against the wall in my basement . . . heh, almost got smushed by them toppling yesterday, in fact!!

      *_*

      -- A <-- pack rat!

    4. I've kept all of mine. I do have a spare closet that is "the doll hang out". Because I have so many other dolls (antiques without boxes mostly) the BJDS have taken over 2 shelves. Basically the box is put inside the lid and the dolls use the open boxes as "beds" when I'm not playing with them and sleep on the cushions. I've added pillows and blankets and teddy bears so they don't feel abandoned...

    5. Interesting question. I've wondered this also.

My house and closets are rather small, so I keep most of the boxes in the rafters of the garage. There are occasionally a few boxes stacked around the house, but those are usually for the dolls I'm not sure I'm keeping. Once that's decided I move the boxes to the more permanent (less easily accessible) rafters. I've started to keep the outer shippers too since it is difficult to find an appropriate size shipper when I do decide to sell a doll.

    6. I've kept them all, never say never, if you need to sell a doll, it's useful to have. I have only two, that store neatly under my bed.

    7. I keep all my boxes for two reasons: A) I'm an obsessive packrat. and B) despite my love of my dolls, there comes a point where I do sell some, and having the original box not only means that the doll is 'complete' but if I keep the shipper as well, it means I have a perfect doll-sized box to ship it out in.. and we all know how difficult it is to find a doll shipper T_T

The doll BOXES are stored in my closet, while the SHIPPERS are stored in the attic. We don't have any problems with leaks in the attic, or excess humidity, but to be safe, I keep anything of important in my room.

EDIT: PS this is a small college house- so it's me and my four roomies, so yes, space is a little limited XD

    8. For those of you who keep the outer shipping boxes as well as the original doll boxes, in case you haven't already thought about it, you can flatten them and retape them if you need to use them. It sure saves storage space.

    9. i don't keep the shippers, but i have kept all the boxes. they're all wonderfully well made boxes, so i don't want to get rid of them. plus, i have a thing for keeping stuff in nice boxes. i have a pink Kate Spade box with stationery in it, and a lovely Coach box with other desk stuff in it like pens and crayons. so i plan on using the dollie boxes for other stuff, and thus they aren't just taking up space, but being useful and keeping stuff in storage. good for photos and whatnot, i guess.

plus i like to have them in case of moving or summat like that. Grif's box was very helpful when i moved home. and the adorable square box Eunbi's head came in will be a good trinket box or something like that.

      i love boxes, honestly. :)

    10. I tend to keep mine, but that's just because I'm a huge pack rat. I'd never sell them or put them back in their boxes, I just hang on to things for too long. I even kept one of the outer boxes, because it had a cool "fragile" sticker on it in Korean.

    11. I only keep them if they come in company boxes, so far thats only 2. The other one was bought as pieces(head and body from different sources), and so is the one on his way

    12. I've kept Kari's "bed box" I put her in there when I got to work or at night when she sleeps. Though recently she wants to sit on my bed and wait for me to get home, and I have no idea how but she's wormed her way into my bed most nights too. :sweat

    13. Is it strange to be comforted by the thought that someday....someone might "discover" one of these magnificent dollies in an attic or basement or under a bed, all packed away in the original box with lovely accouterments tucked safely inside?

    14. nope :) I very much like that thought as well.

    15. Riku's box was sparkly sparkly shiney so I set it on top of my TV next to my bed... Tally's box was also sparkly sparkly shiny so it is next to my night stand... I just look at them because they are shiny... D=

    16. I love this thought :)

Initially i used Kaito's box as his bed. But now he's sleeping beside me on my bed now, so i use the box to store his clothes (which are piling up :doh ).

But i'm moving back to my home country in 2 months' time. Not very sure if i should keep his Volks SD box + the outer shipping box... *_*

    17. Haydens box is his bed, not that he ever stays in it. I'm planning to make a bunk sort of thing when Eiji gets here. The big brown box... is under my bed with all of the bubble wrap and entails he came with. I'm sentimental beyond belief XD

    18. I use my kids boxes as their beds, what I do is to put the cusions on the top as a mattress. I have made fitted sheets and a valance for them and extra 'proper pillows" and when I get my embroidery machine next month, I will be making proper duvet covers too....

Of course, if I need to pack them away, they go in my dollroom, otherwise, they look too nice.

The outerboxes are stored in the dollroom under a trestle table, full of fabric :>

      Seek peace

      Carol

    19. I sleep in it.

    20. I stole one of my freind Luts boxes and made it into a bed for my MSD. His own - TEENY tiny box - holds some of his toys and clothes. Lerois come, or at least used to come, in rather small boxes!
