Where do you keep your doll?

Nov 16, 2004

    1. My baby kadaj stays on my bed most of the time or he's on my computer desk ,thank god the cats we have stay out side and i trained my dog not to mess with any dolls when she was little.so he's safe:)

    2. they stay on my bed

    3. Well, I'm only "home" for four days of the week, so when I'm away, I keep them in their bag. During the day when I'm at home, I display them in a part of the room that doesn't receive sunlight. When it's the evening, I usually move them closer to me. Ciel sometimes sits in my lap when I'm on the computer, and I'll put Colette on my desk, or my bed.

    4. They sit on their couch on top of my mini fridge. The couch is starting to get really crowded though so I bought a chair for one of my minis and a friend gave me a chair for my tiny but they still sit on the ocuch. I'd feel weird to seperate them.

    5. They used to stay by my bedside table where i can see & reach for them whenever i like. Now they are spending most of their time in the glass shelf with my other dolls as i don't have many chance to play with them anymore. But they do have the entire floor to them.

    6. My Madden is usually sitting on my dresser or she is where ever I am. =^-^=

    7. My Elspeth is on top of my entertainment center sitting on a Volks sofa with her pets.

    8. Well, right now, because Elliot has a squishy cloth body, he mostly spends his time sitting on the big squishy black chair in my room looking a little bit disgruntled. Oko sits beside my keyboard when I'm at the computer. <3 He would be in my lap, but I don't want to frizz up his curly curly wig!

    9. When I went home for the holidays, my father surprised me by setting up a large (industrial-strength!) shelf in my room for my boys and their bits of furniture :) Since I'm not able to take them overseas with me anytime soon, that's where they'll stay for the time being.

    10. For now on the entertainment center to stare at my roomie and creep her out hehhehehe.

    11. In my heart. :)

Really, just wherever I need them to be. In the bedroom, on the couch, on the table... just nearby.

    12. During weekdays while I'm at school, Kichi sits on my desk. He just sits there and waits for me to get home. I just toss my backpack aside, place him on my lap, and start playing with him. But later on, he just stays on my lap and helps me out with my history homework.

Over the weekends, he never leaves me side. He always has to be within 1 foot of me or else I get worried that something bad happened to him. *protective/loving owner* :aheartbea But I just love him that much. XD; I mean who can resist MNF Shiwoo?

    13. Mine have to "earn" their keep so most of the time they are half dressed standing on my drafting table waiting to try something else on.

    14. On my shelf usually, or sometimes she might migrate to my desk or bed. :)

    15. mine ussaly sits on my sofa, with some of my anime dolls and plushies. some times she sits on my computer.

    16. Well my dolls are usually are on a shelf above my bed, tought i dont have any bjd's cause they are not so popular here, I'm planing to get one very soon:)

My other dolls like a Chii from chobits are on my desk^^
Cowie is my fav plushie, I got it from my sis for xmas, and I sleep with it a lot:sweat
In the middle there are some thing I allready got for Loki (DZ shoyu) like plastic flowers, glas vases, a really cute tiger plushie and a really mini doll (allmost 2cm^^"). She will get them as a homecoming gift. Also when she arrives the barbies gonna move out of the corner, the plush dolls gonna have a nice bookshelf, the barbies gonna go to their place and in that corner will be Loki's place:lol:

      Sorry for the big pic:roll:

    17. I have most of mine sitting on top of the shelf above my desk or on my desk beside me when I sit here, simply because I like to have them close to me. A few of them have a spot on the shelf above the TV as well, where my cats can't get to them at all, and the rest I have in my bedroom. The rest as in my floating heads, heh.

    18. my dolls hang out with the rest of the household's dolls, in the workroom downstairs. Tam is lounging in bed with Luz, and Cyr is hanging out on the bench with Keibhan (way at the far end, Chyou, i swear!! he knows better than to go after guys who are spoken for!)

Sehti is... in limbo, as i haven't yet been able to set aside a cent for him. soon, though...

    19. I apologize if this has been asked before, and if so feel free to have it moved :3

Anyway, I'm very soon going to have the money needed to get some dolls.. and I've been wondering about where I'm going to put them when I'm not playing with them. I really don't like the idea of storing them in a box in a closet or under the bed.. It just seems a little sad.

At the same time, I've heard horrible stories about dolls falling, so I'm hesitant to leave them on my dresser or bookshelf. Plus, I have two cats which means that even if they were secure, the cats would see to it they'd be knocked over, chewed on, and they have been known to pee on things as a friendly reminder that the kitty litter hasn't been cleaned yet today. It makes me extra hesitant to leave them in the open.

So I've been considering picking up a glass display cabinet if I can find one big enough, or perhaps an entertainment center/TV stand. (One of the ones where the TV is protected be a glass door.)

But I wanted some perspective before going out and buying more furniture. Where do you all keep your dolls when they're not being used? Ever gone out of your way to make special living arrangements for your dolls?

    20. My three dolls hang out ontop of my alarm clock, which is on my desk. Even though my cat is always in and out of my room, no one has suffered a fall. If you leave them out in the open, just keep them out of the way of your kitties' natural paths - you probably have already figured out where they will normally go in the house, and chances are they won't go out of the way just to disturb your dollies. (Then again, I don't know your cats)

If the doll is sitting and leaning back against something, chances are it won't fall. You can get shelves with 'guards' on each side, usually bookshelves. =) I find glass covers so impersonal, and don't like them.
