1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your doll?

Nov 16, 2004

    1. Shelves. It's where they sleep. Then I wake them up and bring them here to my desk and let them watch over my shoulder or sit at my side peacefully. Unless I'm trying to get them into a fitting for their new clothes...then they get twitchy and kicky. >.<

    2. WOW! That sounds SO NEAT!!!! Please post pictures when you finish it!!!

    3. When I was still at my parent's house they stayed in their boxes in my sister's room. When I moved out of there into an apartment with friends they stayed in the living room since all 4 of us in the apartment had BJDs. When I moved into my boyfriend's apartment, they received their own shelf on the entertainment center in the living room.

Currently I am getting ready to make a change in living arrangements once again so they are back in their boxes once more. Sadly I am not sure where they will be displayed other than some where in my boyfriend's and my bedroom. Nothing against my future roommate but sadly I don't trust anyone with my things unless they know how to handle them.

    4. I have a cat too, so i keep mine on the highest shelf of my book case, i'm not worried about my doll falling when she's sitting or laying down.

when i move back to school i'm going to have to keep her under my bed.

    5. When I'm at school for most of the time, Celi is 'sleeping' in her lovely canopy doll, covered with thick fabric to prevent the sun reaching her, coming through the *always* closed bamboo blinds in my room. When I'm at home, she never leaves my arms in order to make up for leaving her alone all the time. ^^;;

    6. My doll(and my sister's) were SUPPOSED to go in their box every day when we went to school, to protect them from the sunlight.
That plan worked for about two days. Neither of us could stand to shut them up in there for so long. XD So now, they sit on the shelf toward the back of my closet where they're still out of the sun, but have a little more space and light.
The door to my room stays CLOSED at all times while I'm out, so my puppy doesn't get in and start nosing around... I doubt she could actually get into the cramped closet, then get up on her haunches so she's tall enought to actually knock the dolls off the shelf, but I feel I can never be too careful. If she were to lift her nose up at just the right angle, there's still a slight chance they could fall, I think...

    7. I keep mine in a bookshelf, out of the reach of sunlight.

    8. Reminder that there is a HUGE thread in BJD Games for this question! :)

    9. I have my girl and my little undine up my desk, in a bookshelf ^^

    10. Some people use a nice doll house that they can close up when not in use. Or a box made into a room with a clear plexiglass front so you can see in.

    11. Kori is kind of everywhere with me >.>; At home on the computer, he sits on a coffee can (doll funds x3), at night he hangs out on my smaller bookshelf, during the day when I'm gone he sits on my mom's display case...and I cuddle him on the couch those few times I venture to my living room...

So far, my mum's and sister's cats have no interest in my little sweetheart (thank god :o) So I feel safe enough not to enclose him behind glass or anything...

When I do move out eventually, or when I get more dolls, I'd like to have an area devoted to them. I'm thinking of getting a special shelf or something to put on the wall above my bed so Kori well have his own bed...still working out the kinks in that plan though. (^.^)b

    12. i have to keep moving him ><''' coz the sunlight in my room is very strong...at the moment he is hiding under my bedcovers XD

    13. In two separate rooms at the moment. :sweat

As soon as Sagittine landed (Akando,) my dolls no longer fit on top of my bedroom cabinet. So Sagittine is relaxing in my front room watching TV (when it's on ;)) in my legless floor chair thingy.

    14. Wherever I can see them ! My Puki is in a lantern I bought for her, protected by a glass :D
My Unoas are sitting on a shelf that is high enough : sun, children and cat cannot reach them ! :)

    15. Ces has his own shelf in my room. He sits in his box, but I don't put the lid on - so it's sort of a make shift bed. :)

    16. Mine live in a chair in my living room. That chair is now full so I am going to purchase a couple of childrens' chairs for them.

    17. -if theres a thread for this already, feel free to move this one...I didn't see one but that doesn't always mean anything! XD -

I'll be getting my first BJD soon and upon hearing about preparing for your doll and your dolls homecoming...got me thinking. Where do you keep your doll/dolls?

Your bedroom? The closet? Bookcase shelf? Dresser top? Dresser drawer? Curio cabinet? The couch? A small bed by your own?

I'm still thinking of where I'll be putting my girl once I run off to work...so I was curious, where do you keep yours?

    18. I have yet to get a BJD myself, but I've been wondering the same thing myself. I don't know what I'll do with my boy once I get him. So it'll be interesting to see what other people have done with their dolls. n.n

    19. Mine sit on the top shelf of my desk when I'm not playing with them. That seems to be the best spot for my girls, where cats and other animals can't get near them.

    20. Some of mine are in a glass cabinet, some on open bookshelves & another whole gang on the floor in front of the cabinet. A friend of mine keeps all of her's on her bed, well at least the ones she's currently playing with. Personally, I can't stand dolls in boxes. I want them out where I can enjoy them every day.
