1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your doll?

Nov 16, 2004

    1. When I'm not playing with them I stick them next to my laptop or radio shelf for my viewing pleasure. :)

    2. My boys are placed on my shelf. I want to make some chairs for them when I have time and got the material. (right now only my YDER, Yuya has a chair, but it's not really hos style).

I only pack my boys in their boxes when my little cousin comes to visit. He is sooooo iritating and want's attention all the time. I may be his favorite cousin, but he'll not find out about my boys until he is old enogh to leave other peoples stuff alone (thinks he's 10 or so).

    3. I keep mine in a hidden area so my cats don't destroy her

    4. I keep mine on a designated shelf in the bedroom - my cat never goes in there, it's nice and dark and out of sunlight, but I can still see them every day and it's easy to grab one of them when I want to change clothes or take some photos.

Though I do keep my Bambicrony Pepe on the desk with me to have some company. ^^

    5. The dolls I take to conventions as examples of what one could order with me, are mostly staying in the big transport box. But to be honest, I prefer to have them around. They're sitting, lying down or standing with the help of one of the big sturdy waist stands I have.

Shyne (Buddydoll) and Persia (DIM) are always out and about. Persia is my first BJD I purchased back in 2006 and Shyne came in second. They are out of the box.

When traveling I use the special BJD carrier bag and that works splendid!

    6. I'm now waiting for my first BJD to arrive, and right away I'm thinking where I should keep it. My fashion dolls, gashapons and other little figurines are located on top of my (low) wardrobe, mostly because my shelves are full with my books. And my floating head is in front of me in this moment, beside the computer screen. Since I bought a blank body, I was thinking of keeping it in its box, on top of my highest shelf: the purchase would leave penniless and unable to buy doll clothes, and I thought it wouldn't sit too well for my mother and little nieces to come into my room and see a nude male doll (anatomically correct, that's it). But, guess what? I miscalculated and was actually left enough money to buy some clothes along with the doll.

And so, I'm thinking where I should keep it. I'm thinking of my bed, since all flat and more steady surfaces are already taking over by my dolls, and I also have a pet dog. I made a room box for my fashion dolls so I'd like a similar "diorama" for my BJD, but I don't think I have enough room for it - unless Milo, my dog, show some willingness to share room with it. If not, I don't like the idea of a box either - it'd be a dark and very small place for my poor doll.

    7. At the moment my poor love gets kept in her box, unless I'm fitting her for something, then she'll sit ont he back of the couch, creeping everyone in my house out, because I pose her after they've all gone to bed (I'm the night owl of the family) or sitting on her carrier on the cutting table. (just so that doesn't sound quite so creepy, I'll point out it's a fabric cutting table, not a person cutting table :sweat)

I'm almost there when it comes to enough to move out, so I'm planning on making a space specifically for my dolls in my house.

    8. My dolls (while I was in uni) stayed on my 'bookcase' with my bettas - was really one of those snap together plastic shelving units...but I used it for books too. Since I've moved I have some still on the bookcase, but Tsume hangs out on the old table-sewing machine that's stored in my bedroom, while some of my others hang out on my dresser, and Charlie (my DD Anne) has an 'apartment' of her own made out of an old breadbox...

When I get my new place they'll all have to be put somewhere where H (my cat) and Rod (my Japanese Chin [i.e. dog breed that thinks it's a cat]) can't get to them, lol

    9. I'm living in a very small flat with my boyfriend... So I don't have a lot of space to put my dolls. So They're sitting on a great little "just-for-two-sofa" on my only shelf :P

    10. It's funny, I made this little space for my Nabi where she could sit and hug her stuffed animals... but she still insists on sitting behind my laptop... I guess it's because she gets lonely sitting by herself in that space.

    11. On top of my cabinet, next to my dresser in my room. I'd love to have them sit on my bed, but I can't do that because of my pets.

    12. I have a little indigo folding chair in the far corner of my room, and whenever I awake, I see her beautiful eyes staring back at me.

    13. on the dresser in their chairs, on other laps, and on a chest, in their chairs, in the floor in chairs, and 2 in the bed.

    14. Unfortuantely, she lives in her box. There isn't a lot of room in my room to keep her out all the time (it's kinda crowded). But the plan is to move out, and I'm thinking of getting a chest of drawers to put my dolls in when they're not on display... (an idea I snaffled from someone else!).

    15. Sorry if this thread has been there done that. :sweat

Where do you keep your dolls?

Do you have a designated spot for them to keep them safe while you're out and about or doing something else? Is it a display area or simply storage? Or do you have an entire unique customized space for your doll which houses him or her and all their things? Or are they forever doomed to a box! Do you display them in protective casing or are you relaxed about it?

Sub-Post: Are your dolls more loved or looked at? Meaning, do you prefer not to handle them a lot, or is one always at your side?

I'm planning on keeping mine in the nook of my giant pink ikea bookshelf in my living room. :aheartbea

    16. When I get mine I will keep it in the box it comes in and place it somewhere high but safe because of my dogs. When I really get into I'll give it its own little spot on a shelf or something like that. =D

    17. I have my Soom Beryl and Vesuvia in my glass case, they are my showpieces. most of the others are in my bedroom- on my vanity, on a shelf over my computer desk, on a stand next to my bed.
Then I have a couple out in my livingroom, either guarding my Pet's urns, waiting for work to be done on them {spa treatment} or just looking pretty.

I don't "love" on them...I'm a little old for that..:sweat but I do remember when I had my hound, I used to cuddle him somewhat when I was changing his clothes..but he's gone now, and I have shoulder issues so I can't hold bigger dolls for a long period of time, and Hawk my Spiritdoll Echium who replaced my hound says he only likes to hug the young pretty things, not some old lady like me!! LOL:lol:

    18. Peitari and Osiris sit in their chairs on a desk. Sakura sits on her bed on a shelf with Monday next to her. I would love some kind of cabnit for them. I'm always afraid my cat will jump up where they are and knock them off.

    19. My crew has a shelf they hang out on in my living room, out of direct sunlight of course, I dont get any direct light in my appartment. My little woosoo hangs out with my on my laptop stand, and has his own "bed" on my night stand that he gets tucked into when I go to bed. None of my dolls sit in their dark boxes.. the only time they go back in there boxes is if I go on vacation, or if I am moving.
