It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Where do you keep your doll?

Nov 16, 2004

    1. Mine are currently all around the house. Some of the tiny ones hang out in dollhouses, others are on a shelf next to my bed. A couple of the big ones are sitting on a little table in my guest room and my biggest guy is in his travel case. This week, my newest big girl is sitting on my desk in my bedroom, glaring at me because I need to finish a dress I'm making her, but usually I keep the big dolls in their cases in a dark room. I have plans to buy some storage pieces with drawers to keep them in, but haven't managed to get around to it yet.

    2. Mine are currently sitting on my dining room table next to my computer. Eventually I'd like to get a cabinet to put them in.

    3. My boys have had a shelf in the bookcase, but now with four of them, they are running out of space. I just got a set of stacking cubes, each boy will have their own 'room', decorated to their taste to spread out in. Plus it will be fun to decorate.

As for looking or loving... while at home, they are on their shelf unless I'm working with them, just for their safety, not that the cat has ever been THAT interested. But when school is in session they are the official Anime Club mascots so they come with me to work at least once a week. My students try to beat each other to my room so they can hold my boys. I also carry them up to my computer graphics lab and students there will take them over to their computer. My boys are well-loved, I can't wait to introduce my students to the new ones. ^___^

    4. The top of the television cabinet in the living room is where my dolls live. They have some furniture up there, and some doll stands. Maybe when we have more room, and my daughter is a little older, they'll get more room.

    5. Inside a closet with shelves, I have placed cushions up on each shelf inside the closet & the dolls lie on them , in fact it is the safest place in house, not a way to fell down from there (I am so worried of falls *_*), I couldn't keep the boxes as they came or dolls in them, as those were huge, I open the boxes flat so not to occupy too much space & placed them behind the bookcase. I'm not so strict with light but closet is dark anyway & I have almost no sunlight at all in this room...

    6. My dolls are in my den on a shelf so that I can see them. My daughter and I both collect so the dolls have stay-overs sometimes and sit on her shelf in her living room too. I wouldn't want to have them if I was going to keep them in boxes. I know they are more at risk to get hurt, but I really enjoy looking at them and holding them.

    7. Wherever I happen to place them. A circular table in the livingroom, the shelves on my computer desk, my bed, my chest of drawers, my nightstand, and my kitchen table (which I never eat on, I just set things on ... I don't know why) are the usual places they sit. One head is also chillin' on top of a bookcase in the protective embrace of a teddy bear.

    8. Daelyn hangs out on top of my dresser in the bedroom. That's the safest place for him since the blinds are kept closed and it's always dark and cool in there. And our pets are never allowed in the bedroom so he's safe from being mistaken for a chew toy.

I guess he kind of falls somewhere between "loved" and "Looked at". I don't carry him around with me all the time, but occasionally I spend time with him in the bedroom (changing clothes, repositioning eyes, restringing/hot-glue suedeing, etc.) or bring him out to sit with me in the living room to watch TV while I work on jewelry (for him) and his piercings. But the most amount of time I spend with him is when I take him outside for photoshoots. :)

    9. I have a chair and a bench for my boys in my room. They're the centerpiece and focal point though, I make sure of that ;)
If and when I get Chrom, I want to put him on something a little more special, more for display. That's if.

    10. I keep them in my workroom, which is kind of a 'sacred' area, I never let my clumsy boy family members bumble about in there ^_~
My dolls supervise my faceup biz and generally make the place wonderful, and I know they're safe and out of direct light.

    11. Im making mine a bed (all white so it doesnt stain her) she can rest in while im gone. Her snuggled in a comferter is a much prettier picture than in a dark box-but then again that bed will be stored in a cabnet in my room to block the sun!

    12. My one boy is sitting on a little dresser next to my bed for the time being. I think I'll have to clear a spot for him in the shelf in the hallway, though - his current spot is right in front of my window and I don't want him to look like a lemon in a few months... :o

    13. Currently my doll occupies the highest shelf of the living room bookcase, but she may wander elsewhere soon. I don't have kids or loose pets, so she can do that.

    14. Here is a thread
      Where do your dolls live?

It's fun to see how everyone keeps their dolls.
      Some have really elaborate settings.
I keep mine in a dresser.

      Re: sub-post,

I keep mine put away most of the time but sometimes I set them out just to look at or to sit in my lap.
The only one I really ever carry around much is my SDC boy Rocky. I think just because he is smaller and he is more poseable.
I feel like he is not as breakable for some reason.

    15. I display them on my desk in my room.

I can see them most of the time.

I'm planning to get a sofa for them!:)

    16. This is a great thread! I love seeing all the pics of housing :)

    17. XD; Draco just usually sits on his pillow on top of my wig box, or beside my pillow on my bed... .w. I cover him with a cloth when I go out to hide him from the sun... .w. and when I'm studying, he's sitting on the desk distracting/supervising me. <3

.w. I usually carry him around the house with me though, so he isn't in a fixed place for very long unless I"m sleeping/outside.

    18. In his box that he came with ^^'' couldnt find a better storage than that, I plan to make him a small 'room' from some boxes one day... when I got the time... whenever that is...

For now, I think he's pretty content and well protected from the elements inside his cozy box :D heheh

    19. I wonder if we could see some pictures of the dolls in their environments. I'll bet people get pretty creative with the displays.

    20. Some live in my bedroom to keep me company but it has limited space so the rest are in a spare room which has no direct light and where I keep all their accessories. I know a lot of people have them behind glass but I like to handle them too much for that and don't like the idea of anything between me and them!
