1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your doll?

Nov 16, 2004

    1. I put them on my bed's pillows (very confortable, I think!) or on library, but not near the books. And sometimes I bring someof them whit me outside (expecially during the weekend).

    2. Many of my dolls are sitting on an old wood sofa, which humans prefer not to sit on.

However all kinds of dolls have been wandering in from the door, and sofa is full, so the rest are occupying where ever there is a little corner free.

    3. Mine sit ,or stand, on an antique soda in our bedroom. But sometimes one will sit next to my computer.

    4. When I first got Citlali, I kept her in her box like all the time. One, because I was still a bit freaked out by dolls. Well, at night anyways. Lol. And also 'cause I shared a room with someone. I didn't want to leave her around, 'cause this person played to many jokes with her. And jokes I didn't find very funny either. So, she would stay in her box most the time, unless I took her out when I was there. So I could watch her, so nothing to horrible would happen.
But now, since I have my own room. She's on my shelf a lot of the time. Just sittin' there, hangin' out. From time to time I'll put her back in her box to "rest".. But it's only a matter of time before I take her out again. So yeah. Either in her box, or out on mah shelf! 8D

    5. I keep the kiddies on the bed mainly,or on the desk.=)

    6. :o That is an impressive collection of dolls.

I just bought a 5 shelf bookcase that I am going to be customizing into a Puki house. The bottom shelf is going to be changed into cabinet and the top shelf might end up being the home of larger dolls once I get my collection started.

    7. He sits in my bed/workroom wherever he can. At night he sleeps on his futon on the cupboard near my bed, so he's always close to me :)

    8. I've got mine in their original boxes or in display cases to keep out the dust. Plus I'm afraid if I leave them out my cat might knock them over. >< But I've got one little boy who hangs out and about everywhere. That one's a bit spoiled I guess. xD

    9. When I'm not playing with my dolls, they are on top of a cabinet in my room, either sitting on a couch or on a doll stand. That way I can always see them, but they are safe ^-^

As for your second question, I'd have to say that it's a bit of both. Sometimes I just leave them looking pretty on the cabinets, because I don't want to get ink on them, or knock them over when I'm working, and a lot of times I'm holding my dog, so I can't hold them. But sometimes, when my dog is in his bed, I'll hold them while I watch movies and stuff. And if I go to another room and want to see them, I'll bring them with me.

    10. on the bottom of the first page of this thread there are pictures, all pretty awesome! :)

    11. I am really cautious about my dolls and sunlight, probably more so than I need to be. Plus I have children and pets. So the big dolls live in their boxes packed away in my closet. Though at this point there are 3 70cm and 2 60cm dolls and we are running out of room for them. The tinies live on my alter, on top of a media cabinet. It's dark in my bedroom anyway and they are small enough for it. But even then they are over running it, and it makes it hard for me to use my alter. We just finnished converting half of our garage into an office, it's totally dark out there, no sun. So when we put up the large bookcase I think the dolls may get to live on top of it. It's going to be anchored to the wall (I always anchor large climable furniture) and they will be plenty high enough to be safe from dogs and children. I have to find somewhere for them to live or I can't have any more large dolls.

    12. They're always camped out somewhere in my living room, usually perched on an end table being adorable. I'm sure that because I'm not super careful, they might yellow one day, but that's okay, I like getting to enjoy them every day. :>

    13. Unless something is gong on(which is pretty often), the dolls tend to stay somewhat put away. My boys are currently sharing Loren's box, which balances on top of my loom when it's not being used, or they hang out on one of the bookshelves that faces away from the windows. Very, very sunny apartment, coupled with a four year old BW El leads to some anxiety with the yellowing...

    14. Now I keep my doll in her own eternity box, but soon I want to buy little sofa for her or something like that.. Most of all, I want to keep her on my bed, but I bit scared about her integrity 8(>.<)8

    15. I would like to have a glass case... but is impossible T^T. For that reason my I keep my dolls in their bags ^__^

    16. My guys usually sit on the top shelf of my bookcase (and surprisingly they all fit, albeit being a little crowded XD). I try to keep them covered with shirts and such so they won't collect dust, but sometimes I don't so that I can look at them. My room is pretty dark and they're out of direct sunlight, so that's not that big of a worry.

I don't really handle them a lot unless the mood strikes me, I feel like taking photos, or I'm having a bad day. But I like being able to see them <3

    17. I don't own a doll yet, but I can already think of a few good places I plan to put future dolls. I could sit them on the edge of the fireplace (but I'd have to move away the displayed pottery/teapots) or on top of the piano, and everybody could see them any time. But they're in the living room, and that room gets some light in the daytime. I think I'd prefer to keep them in the cool, dark basement, where I typically sleep or sometimes chill out. There's a bookshelf, filled with old encyclopedia books nobody looks at, but the books are set far enough into the shelf that there's still plenty of room left for a few dolls to sit =3 . Or, sitting on the top shelf-ey part of a desk downstairs where I do a lot of artsy stuff. Aw, heck, I'd probably shuffle them around all sorts of different perches, whatever's convenient XD .

It would be nice to have some sort of actual specific sitting place or something, like a doll sofa or a closet/table, but I don't think I'll worry about that XD .

    18. I moved my fiance's computer out of the room and set up a mini room for her.

    19. When I am at home I put them on the top of my computer desktop, but when I go to school or work I put them in little baskets (their beds) and place them in my closet b/c I have a nosy grandmother who likes to go through my things.
