1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your doll?

Nov 16, 2004

    1. I have a plastic storage set of drawers I keep doll stuff in, including most of the floating heads and faceplates while I get faceup materials and such. The dolls themselves hang out on my kitchen table (I live alone so the table NEVER gets used otherwise) and the shelves of my computer desk. Basically wherever I have space.

    2. My resin kids occupy a bookshelf.

    3. I have one cat that goes into my room, but he isn't very adventurous so I keep my dolls on the top shelf of a 6ft bookcase (he won't jump up there). All other doll-related stuff I keep in a plastic tub that has a lid, so the cat can't get it.

Perhaps you'd want to invest in an actual display case, something with shelves and latching glass doors. That way they're visible, you have easy access to them, and the cat can't get them. :D

    4. They sit on a shelf over my computer. They get no direct sunlight but the room is bright in the early morning so sometimes I worry because I have three white skin dolls.

From time to time I move them to my bedroom and put them on top of my Armoire thingy. But I prefer to have them by my computer because I enjoy them more there.

    5. I used to keep my dolls on a shelf in my sewing/dining room. Then my oldest cat passed away and I got 2 baby kittens. The kittens are rambunctious and explore everything (and one of them tries to "pirate" things by taking them in his mouth and running off with them) so there is no way I can leave anything out when I am not in the room.

So ever since I moved they have been going back and forth out of their boxes. I want to have them out all the time so I am looking into some kind of shelving.

    6. Meirion and Tormen-the-floaty-head are currently living in the space under my TV :)
It used to be a set of drawers, but the drawrs broke, so we took 'em out but kept the tv on there.
So I just attatched a butchered pillow case curtain to the front.
Voila! The only place in my room I can keep them out of the sunlight....stupid french window xD

    7. I purchased an old computer armoire off of Craig's List-cheap because it was missing some shevling and needed some paint repair, but PERFECT for my resin boys :) They have their own little areas to hit/lounge about and stay out of the sun.

    8. My dolls are cabinet babies. :XD:

I'll need to rearrange the shelves in there once I add SD-sized dollies to the crew. :sweat

    9. In my old room, he sat on a shelf in the closet cause the room got really bright (he looked fairly happy there. Currently he is reclining on a weird gooshy hot pink pillow on the lower bunk of my bunk bed (the one I don't use). He looks pretty happy there too so I've just left him there.

    10. Some of mine are in a glass cabinet, others on bookshelves & a few on the floor in chairs. I have to have my dolls out where I can enjoy them. I also have 3 cats & only Fiona bothers them, just to lick the fur wigs. Tamlin will sometimes try to sit in their laps but they're basically good around the dolls.

    11. I have my doll in her box tucked away in my closet with the door closed. That way no sunlight exposure and no pesky people poking about. Haha.

    12. My girls are in their boxes on a fold-up table in my room or else on a bookshelf I hung up in the corner of the room specially for them when not being played with.

I feel kind of bad having them in the boxes where I can't just look over at them all the time, but I also get really excited when I open the box everyday right as the light catches their eyes. It's like that first moment meeting them all over again day after day. :)

    13. When I'm at my room, my girl is at bookshelf. There is little "room" for her. I mean, there is sofa to her and stuff. But when I'm at computer, she sits here too, at computer table.
Her stuffs are at her box. And her box is under my bed. :D I should put it in better place but I haven't figure out, where.

    14. I have the same problem right now, not necessarily how to keep them away from pets, but where should they go. I keep one on my bed at all times (I have a big bed), two on a shelf, and I just got another who is currently lounging on my bed as well until I find a better place. I am thinking I might set up a table in my room if I can make the sapce and keep it exclusively for them.

    15. Mine live all over the house and our cat loves them and curls up on their laps if I leave tem anywhere that she customarily sleeps.

      It's sweet.

She also deliberately goes and sits with the dolls if she is in trouble and has been told-off by us (it's like she's saying, "the dolls are my friends - they never tell me off!")

    16. I live with two housemates - no pets - so my dolls have to stay in my room too. But I have a lot of wall shelving so my dolls have a (low) shelf for themselves, under my books. They sit on the soft pillows they came packed in! Occasionally they make it to my desk and the windowsill (no direct sunlight comes in), lounge on the carpet... but not my bed, there's just enough room on there for me and no more. ;)

    17. in their boxes under the table.. ;)
but thats just cause I don't have any other good space..

    18. mine live in their boxes when they're not modelling or having their photos taken. I keep them in my sewing room - away from dust and sunlight.

    19. My dolls are on a high shelf with their stands. If my nieces and nephews come home, they can't reach them and the location of the shelf isn't touched by the sun light in a hard way, so it's an ideal place for them being displayed.

    20. Mine sit in the hallway where there's next to no light, though I pass through there all the time, so I can see them frequently ^^ I bring them into the living room in the evenings.

      If I didn't have a dimly-lit area for them in the day-time, I'd probably cover them up with a drape/cloth ^^
