1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you think you'd be if you weren't in the doll hobby?

Nov 3, 2019

    1. Probably doing the same things I’m doing now just more of it. I like to garden, draw, read, write and collect toys in general. My doll hobby is very slow paced anyway.

    2. I would probably be a substance addict to be quite frank. Dolls have shaped me through childhood and brought me back to my roots as an adult. I would probably be trying to impress people and damaging myself instead of pouring my soul into my dolls.
      Thank god for dolls!!!

    3. I would be exactly where I am now, only I would probably have spent more time and possibly more money on some of my other hobbies.

    4. I would have so much more money to invest in minerals and probably would have bought the tablet I need already XD I feel like my priorities are all wrong but I love dolls so its fine. Thank goodness for layaways honestly.

    5. Probably having more perfumes in my cabinets.:XD:Perfumes and bjd dolls are hobbies that spent most of my money:sweat

    6. Most likely spending the money that I used for my dolls on my computer, fandom merch and DnD stuff instead. *_*

    8. Spending it on more useless crap I don’t need like video game cosmetics or handbags. This hobby fulfills me, it gives me a creative outlet to deal with the stress of day to day. It makes me giddy when I get a package, even something small. It’s given me another hobby to share with my husband and gush over sculpts together! And heck it’s made me a lot easier to shop for on Christmas. Get me a $5 doll prop, I’m a happy camper.

    9. More money and more space for displaying my museum replicas, pottery and books :)

I have other hobbies so time wouldn't be impacted... I read too much as it is which impacts spending time elsewhere :blush

    10. If I never got into BJDs then I wouldn't have revived my story I started in high school and I wouldn't have gotten back into drawing. But honestly, I think eventually I would come to find BJDs like a twisted fate.

    11. Where do you think you'd be if you weren't in the doll hobby?

A lot better off financially! lol

    12. I've had a lot of different hobbies over the years. I suffer from lifelong depression, so hobbies keep me grounded and sane.
Before BJDs it was Barbies and Monster High dolls, before that it was dollhouse miniatures, and before that it was hard plastic dolls of the 1950s.. I could go on and on.

    13. Oh I totally relate! It’s such a great hobby to unify so many other hobbies together! I especially like the clothing and photography aspects of doll collecting :chibi I also really like your clefairy avatar so cute!

    14. I’d be collecting other random mass produced toys and dolls like I did before I found these dolls. I still collect a few but not like I did!

    15. I have many hobbies, but this one does take most of my money away. I think if I wasn’t into dolls I might have saved up quite a lot. But who knows, maybe the hobby isn’t my issue, I’m the biggest issue here.

    16. I'd have a lot more room in my upstairs closet without the gang's stuff and that ridiculous fabric stash...

    17. It is hard to say. When i couldn't find joy in any other Hobby, i still turned to my dolls for a bit of comfort (I severely dislike being touched. Hugs and other is out of the question, especially if i feel bad to begin with) The weigth of them is nice and i can focus on them more easily than other stuff.
They got me through alot. I might've had an enormous dog instead, not sure XD

    18. Before BJDs it was Doll House miniatures. Before that it was Barbies, and before that it was vintage dolls of the 1950s. I have always collected something doll related.

    19. Probably still spending all that doll money on cosplay instead...... But dolls are such a casual hobby for me, I only have 2 right now as I trimmed down right before Covid hit and buying seemed like such a hassle during lockdowns. I still draw and do other things, though even cosplay was on the backburner with everything being closed for so long.

    20. When I first got into the hobby at the end of 2005, I was already into cosplay and was also just getting into lolita fashion. I think that at the time, if I wasn't into BJDs, I would've just invested a lot more into my lolita wardrobe. But as of now, without dolls, my hobby would definitely be traveling overseas as much as possible.
