1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Where is the weirdest place you've taken your doll?

Jun 21, 2006

    1. I've taken by BJDs to:

      -the MET.

      -FAO Schwartz

-a ruined castle site on Okinawa

      -Scotland

      -A laudromat in London

      Countless restaurants... etc...

      And one neko cafe...

    2. I took my little Omi to the theatre to see Harry Potter and the order of the pheonix! I bought him his own ticket and sat him right next to me ! I had one guy ask me why he was sitting there and i showed him his ticket stub and nothing else was said.:) Yeah i had looks but i also had people come up to me and ask questions about him. i think Omi loved the attention!

    3. wal-mart. the looks are great, and the people who ask about them are even greater.

    4. Humm...lets see...The doctors office, out to resturants, court, umm...that's all I can think of at the moment.

EDIT: Sweeny Todd in the movie theaters...and The Dark Knight! :3

    5. I'm another one who takes my doll nearly everywhere with me, though much to my son's relief I didn't take him to the family reunion... not enough people there with teeth so I doubted anyone over 4 would appreciate a dollie.

So far the oddest place was Barnes & Noble. I must say that was the FASTEST and smoothest checkout I've ever encountered there. I think the woman just wanted that doll OFF her counter!

He's well known now at Jo Ann's but the people at Hobby Lobby were pleasantly freaked out. :) And work is about 50/50 split, but since my reputation there for wierd is phenomenal it's rather boring taking him there.

He's going to the doctor's with me tomorrow, I need company sitting in that room all alone!

    6. The Pittsburgh Zoo is the strangest, though it really isn't that weird at all.

    7. Mine get toted around to conventions, restaurants and bookstores, mostly.

But the absolute weirdest place? That would probably be Old Salem, which is a historic section of town with re-enactors who live how settlers lived a hundred or so years ago. They have beautiful gardens, so I thought what better place to take a few doll pics? :)

    8. The weirdest place that I took Keiran was the Hoover Dam.

    9. Right now, I'd have to say my work. I haven't had Mizuki long, but my boss completely freaked when he looked at her sitting at my desk.

One of my co-workers knew what she was, and wanted to carry her around, when she went on break, but overall she was accepted by most of my female co-workers. (Most of the men just looked like I was crazy, or they looked like they wanted to run away.) For 3 weeks, I had to listen to them complaining about how creepy they thought her eyes were.

The only other odd place I took her was when I went grocery shopping.
(The little kids made me giggle, at how they wanted their "mommy" to buy them one.) One lady was very interested, and asked me questions about BJD's, and then freaked when I told her prices they can run. Sadly she said no to her 8 year old daughter and I felt horrible about it.

I really want to take her to a family reunion this spring. ^_^

    10. My first girl rode around in my backpack around Disney World (in front, with her head sticking out)... she rode Space Mountain too. Now she is a speed fiend and I keep having to talk her out of jumping off ledges :sweat

    11. I took my Horatio (Soom Namu) to the Pub/Bar! LOL I had an exhibition of Doll photographs there so I took him with me for the opening :D

ugh, nasty picture (looks like im BREAST feeding him!! Eiw) but yeah:

Oh...and I also took them to my friends...er..well...lets say...Psychedellic party...

    12. > What is the weirdest place you've brought your doll to?
In my backpack onto an airplan.

      >Why were they there with you in the first place?
He came with me from Japan to Europe. ^_^
Well, but I wasnt so happy to stuff him into the tiny space of my backpack...

    13. Weirdest place I've taken Issachar was the woman's bathroom at the mall... Dad refused to be seen in public holding him, haha. Poor Issachar. It was one of the most awkward things I've done to him yet >.<

    14. Problem is where I HAVENT taken them with me! :whee: I`m a eager photographer (though now my camera is lost in a huge pile of things.. moving sucks) so I bring least one of my dolls with me when I intend to go "studying the world through the lens"..

.. Though I brought my Bory to IKEA. He was hanging out of the bags you can borrow to go shopping, and it was hard to sneak through the children`s department without him being spotted.. ^^; It is a weird place for me to go, specially dark and scary me going to IKEA, with a doll in my arms.
Graveyards are too common place to mention.. Graveyard love. <3

    15. I've taken Kazuya to the bathroom once because I was getting a bad vibe from the rest stop on the way to California. But since I had to go really really bad,I dragged Kazuya with me. ^^;;

    16. I guess after having a small human son in public restrooms with me, I don't quite think of taking my doll with me as wierd.:)Particularily after the time he refused to go in the Ladies room and made me go with him in the Men's!

But if I am shopping or traveling alone, I certainly wouldn't leave him in the cart! But I do have to admit it's quite humourous to see him sitting on the child seat waiting patiently for me to finish!:)

    17. I've taken Artemys to alot of weird places... I've taken him to the doctor's with me before, and I take him to the grocery store too. I never got a chance to take him to school because I was out of school before I got him. Although I do take him with me when I meet my boyfriend at school sometimes. I took him to the Santa clause Parade, and my mom's company christmas breakfast with Santa dressed up as a little elf. I've taken him with me through the local cemmetary, but that's because it's a shortcut to get to my boyfriend's school. (and Had to actually introduce him to some of my favourite grave sites. Yes I'm weird.) Hmm.. where else?
I'm going to a wedding for my boyfriend's friend in the summer and I'm trying to convince him to let me take Artemys. >< Somehow I don't think he'll let me :(
Oh yeah! He's been to the Hospital with me. I was tripped down a flight of stairs at the mall and spraigned my ankle so bad I had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. Since Artemys was in my arms all I could worry about (in the midst of horrid pain) was if he was okay. Luckily when I fell I instinctively tucked him in my arms and he was not hurt.

    18. Okay, let's see...

Alec went to New York City with me on our theatre class trip, and got to go to all three shows we saw on Broadway. We also got to attend a taping of the Early Show, and so he was on TV. He also went to the movies with me a few times, school, my job, the store, IKEA, the week-long college visit road trip, Katsucon, Otakon, AnimeUSA twice...he pretty much didn't leave my sight for a few months.

Kitty's also gone to work with me in the anime store, and stood on the counter with a little sign that said "I am not for sale!" xD She also came with me as my mom voted, and got to press the big red button, as well as going to some of the more normal places noted above.

Jason, however, has come with me to several other places since he's so small, including a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and the hair salon.

All of them have come wandering around DC with me, as well as my mom's office and a couple of Smithsonian museums. However, I'd have to say the weirdest place would have to be the interior of the US Capitol Building, twice...with minimal trouble from security! (Though I did get some o_O looks from the guards, which went away when I explained that they were for an art project and made of polyurethane resin. I didn't get to take them into the House Viewing Gallery, though, but the security guard there thought they were just adorable. xD They also tagged along with me to my representative's and junior senator's office. They did not, however, come with me to the inauguration. Even I have limits. (That, and they wouldn't have been at all safe!)

    19. I took my two big boys with me to Dubai and Nicky went along on our day in the desert, quadbiking, sand boareding and camel riding! (Got some pictures of him on a camel and standing in the desert ^^)

I've also taken Brodie and Tatters to Italy, they climbed versuvius and played in the ruins of Pompei - they also went to the blue lagoon thing and that pirates hide out ^^'

apart from that i'd say the weirdest place they've ever been is an agricultural show... they like sheep!
