1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which defunct doll companies would you resurrect?

Mar 8, 2017

    1. I'd love to see the old CP Delfs and Doll In Mind (who is not 100% defunct as far as I know) come back.

    2. Dream of Doll, Doll Factory, and Angelheim. I miss looking at GloryDoll sculpts, too.

I particularly wish more folks owned Doll Factory Elf Knight Sogo... I loved her so much. <3 I used to yearn over her promotional photos years ago and now I can't even find those, let alone owner pictures.

If we're talking wig/eye makers, I'll also toss in EA Gumdrops, Everpurple, Droprops, KStarr, and nDoll.

    3. I didn't realize Doll Factory was defunct now! I just got my Devil Bobo a couple of months ago through DolkUS, and I did notice they removed all Doll Factory listings as soon as my mouse had shipped, but I didn't know that was the end. My girl must have been one of the last ones produced. Sad, since she's absolutely adorable.

Mirodoll is still selling some of their sculpts as XM Doll. Several years ago I noticed that Mirodoll was selling Magical Angel sculpts for less than MA was selling them and with different names. (example: Mirodoll lists MA Kelly as XM Lemon) I contacted Amy at MA and asked about it, and she told me they were not authorized to sell them cheaper, and if they didn't stop, they wouldn't be allowed to sell them anymore. I see they didn't stop and now some of the photos have a Mirodoll watermark on them, so I wonder if MA ended up selling the sculpts to Mirodoll, or are only selling through Mirodoll.

    4. Well that's kind of shady. I was wondering if they had them legit or not. You never know y'know? Kind of makes me hesitant though of ever buying from Mirodoll.

    5. Dream of Doll all the way :(
Tender Shall was my grail doll since 2008 and I'm so sad I didn't snag her when I had the chance.

    6. Yeah, that's why I had asked in the first place. I still have the emails, but last I heard when people tried to contact Amy using that address, there was no reply. I'd really like to know what happened. If there is some sort of agreement, I'd like to know because it would make me feel a lot better.

    7. HZ Doll. I really loved their sculpts, and I wish it were easier to get the awesome outfits...

    8. I can't for sure even remember the name, but I think it was something like SinyWorld? They made a huge range of lonely resin wings and other accessories, that I wanted to order but never did. I've still got some Photoshop work I did checking how the different wings would look with different size dolls, to try to pick what I wanted before taking an unexpected break from the hobby, and they were gone when I came back.

And I'd love the old CP Delf heads to come back (though with the original F60 bodies instead of the current moe ones).

    9. Ahh, is HZ actually defunct? I was never really certain about their status, because it seems like a few sites (Legend-Doll, Jeeryama) are still selling their dolls and clothes, but it also seems like they haven't released anything new in a while?

    10. Yeah cause for the price Mirodoll charges, I'd love to buy from them someday but not if they're selling these dolls without permission. It wouldn't feel right especially since MA was such a small company.

    11. I'm....actually not sure? I heard that the artists had moved on to other things, but that was a while ago.

    12. Yet another vote for Elfdoll and the old Delfs. I have a dream that someday I'll come to own an unmodded Dreaming Lishe and a pair of Elfdoll Viviens.

I also really liked Peapod Doll's accessories - those hooves for tinies were amazing, and their ballerina feet were incredible too.

    13. Dream of Doll and Buddy-doll... The first doll I ever wanted was an April Cute from Buddy-doll and by the time I could afford her the company went under. Even now that my tastes have changed I still really want her. Dream of Doll was also one of the first companies I discovered back in 2008 and I never thought they wouldn't be around so I'm kicking myself for never ordering a Pitts, Ducan, E-an

    14. While they aren't defunct, per se, I'd bring back the discontinued D.I.M. sculpts. Bryony is cute, and so is Violetta, but their older sculpts have so much character to them. I love all of them, especially Larina.

    15. I have adored DIM Belita for awhile but she is also a discontinued sculpt and I haven't been able to find her second hand anywhere.:(:(:(

    16. Dream of Doll, without question, and Angelheim. Angelheim's Zion will forever remain a favorite for me, that company had promise and some awesome ideas and I was so sad to see them close down.

    17. NotDoll, Angel Region and Angel Battle.

    18. I also miss Peapod Doll like crazy. Their mermaid tails were fantastic, wonderfully engineered and expertly sculpted. They were also in the middle of creating a "Seahorse Prince", but he never came about and eventually the company's website vanished. Such a shame. :(

I am lucky enough to own some of their tails, but I would haved loved to get one of their complete tiny mermaid dolls (betta tail!), and maybe one of their unicorn hoof/horn sets.

    20. I really like the old DELF from CP/LUTS. I am very sorry that they discontinued.
