1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which defunct doll companies would you resurrect?

    1. It was all over the Elfdoll discussion threads a while ago. No new Rainies yet, but there have been new minis.

    2. Don't think anyone has said these, but I'd love to see napidoll and Illusion Spirit back. I was so in love with Illusion Spirit sculpts, and so disappointed when they discontinued everything :(

    3. I'd love to see Dream of Doll back. I really liked their sculpts and limited dolls when i first joined the hobby and purchased some accessories from them.

    5. Dream of Doll for sure. I've been eyeing their tinies, esp. Libra for so long... I'm missing that company. My first doll is from DOD and I still dearly love her... Would like to give her a lil' brother... :...(

    8. I miss Dream of Dolls' aesthetic, especially their clothes! I'd love to see them come back.

I remember Homme Ducan being one of the first dolls I fell in love with.

    13. I miss AngelRegion so much... they were going to do an improved body for their boys that never materialized, and their fullsets were always so fun. (Bluefairy is similar in size and some sculpts but their aesthetic is very different.) Ugh, what I wouldn't give to see what they'd do with a Glory Angel revival, but that ship has long sailed.

And I count myself lucky to have the Dream of Doll dolls that I do, but wow, do I ever miss them, maybe even more than I miss AR. I was at Otakon last year and someone was cosplaying a Tender Shall fullset, and it just reminded me of how beautiful their classic sets were.

    14. Dream of Doll... the first company I ever saw before I knew what BJDs were, I fell for Black Elf Ducan, he was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen... when I did get into BJDs years later, Homme Ducan was one of the first sculpts that made me feel completely in awe of the dolls, now I have a Homme and Elf Ducan, but I still wish there could have come a day Black Elf Ducan would come back, and now that's completely impossible (not that it was ever likely to begin with).

    15. Elfdoll is making a comeback (and I'm definitely looking forward to both old and any new Rainy sculpts), so I'd say... Domuya. They literally disappeared just as I was getting into the hobby; moreover, I remember they went out of business while in the middle of a big eco-themed project that left some collectors with their orders unfulfilled. In spite of this, I liked the aesthetics of their bodies, as I've always been fonder of not-so-buff (resin) boys ; ) In fact, my most pampered BJD is an Elfdoll/Domuya hybrid.

    19. I hadn't realised, what a shame for them :( I found domuya ahead of their time, their SD sized horse companion was beyond my budget when it was available, and although i couldn't handle the taller Flexi body, just adored the Fin sculpt and did regret selling her for a number of years afterwards.

    20. One of the horses was in the Marketplace this week. It didn't last long, of course.

Dream of Doll. I always planned to buy a Ducan, but never got around to it :'(
