1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I've never actually handled a face-plate version, but I much prefer as few seam-lines being noticeable on the head as possible. Sure, having a removable face-plate for convenient eye changes and faceups would be nice, but that creepy sci-fi robotic facial removal concept that they kind of remind me of puts me off.:ablink:

So...I'd much prefer to stick with head-caps thank you very much:abambi:

    2. I love faceplates but my first and favorite doll is Unoa Lusis and it's fun to change the plates, I love her expressions so much. Its harder for me to get the eyes positioned just right inside a full head too. :nowords: It's not a thing that will put me off from buying a doll though, plenty of mine have head caps.

    3. Given the choice, I prefer faceplates for eye placing convenience. If a doll has multiple faceplates, even better!

    4. I don't mind either, I have dolls with both head caps and face plates and there are pros and cons to both. If I had to choose I'd probably go with head caps. One of my mini boy with face plate had the plate keep falling off although my other tiny with face plate has no problem. I'm too lazy to change the magnet for my boy lol. Head cap would at least prevent their faces from falling and being damaged in the process. That'd be my greatest fear especially if he/she has a company/commissioned faceup.

    5. I just like headcaps lol. I have two dolls with faceplates- one with three (Mr. Kitty), and one with just the OE plate (PKF Shiwoo). I rarely change my Mr. Kitty's, and I specifically bought the PKF Shiwoo with only one fp (suggested to the seller they could sell the SP one separately to make more money because I wasn't interested and they were cool with that).
And I don't have to worry about faces falling off if they're whole heads hahaa.

    6. I have never owned a doll with a faceplate, but I have sofar not had any problems changing heads on my Ringdoll Dracula and he has two heads with headcaps.

    7. I don't feel strongly about it, but I've had some faceplate dolls whose faces fall off a little too easily, so I voted for headcaps for that reason.

    8. I prefer head caps, and the main reason is because I have accidentally bumped the face plate off of my Dollshe Saint (on more than one occasion) and it always scares me that I'll end up getting a nick in the faceup.

    9. I like having heads with headcaps, as I tend to hold the chin of my dolls when I put their wigs on. I've had a doll with a faceplate before, and her faceplate kept popping off, which made me uncomfortable. It was one of the major reasons I sold her. :(

    10. I prefer headcaps. I briefly had some dolls with faceplates, and far too often the faceplates would go flying if the head was jarred by either me or by the elastic.

I actually have five BJDs with alternate heads that have different expressions. I don't use all of them very often, but I love having them. Mine are all 1/3 scale, so they're easy to handle. No fiddly small bits!

    11. I have a 1/3 doll with a faceplate. It has the magnets and hook system, but her face keeps falling off  I hate it when it happens...

    12. I've never really owned a doll with a face plate but my main concerns is paranoia about the face falling off?! I would totally freak

    13. I only have one doll for the moment, with 2 face plates but I think I will be annoyed if I had headcap, because of the impossibility of changing the expression and to move the eyes.

    14. Headcaps for me. I own two dolls with faceplates and both tend to fall off easily. :sweat I'm always worried they will fall onto a hard surface and chip.

    15. Head caps! I hate it when the face-plate falls off. The headcaps will stay put even if the magnets are not too strong: the wig will take care of that.

    16. i actually don't have a preference. i have several dolls of both kinds and whether it had a faceplate or head cap was never a consideration for me. i must say for my super tinies (puki-puki and smaller) that i think it is easier to insert eyes in a doll with a faceplate, but since i seldom change them once they are set up, and almost never use my sleeping plates it really doesn't matter.

    17. It has happened to me around ten times already, and I keep freaking out XDDD

    18. I'm too scared of the faceplate falling off - even though it's less convenient for switching, the headcap system is my pregerence for security.

    19. I love faceplates! Especially if they have sleeping and normal for the same sculpt!

    20. I'll say headcaps for less seams, but I don't yet own a faceplate doll. So that opinion may yet change!
