Which is your favorite BJD body and why?

Apr 3, 2007

    1. I love my sd dollmore girl's body too. She stands so easily (hooray for locking knees!), and poses beautifully. I also love her hands and the little tummy she has. :)

    2. The Dollzone MSD body. It is mature, tall, and poses like a dream. It also creates an extremely expressive body line and oozes personality.

    3. I really like the Delf Moon sculpt because it's elegant and the type of bishonen body type that I find most appealing. Also, he has the most gorgeous eyes and expression I've seen on a doll.

    4. My favorite is the YoSD body!!! it is so adorable, and can do some great poses with such ease! I love them!!!

    5. As some have mentioned, the character is important for body type. I have 3 Volks SD13 boys, but the body is not suitable for one of them. I think the body is fairly immature in sculpt/build. It works well for the two younger boys, but not for my 22 year old. Uh, I do absolutely love my SD13 long-legged knees though. <3

I like the CP boy bodies for a more mature look. The original Elfdoll boy body looks nice too, but it is a little shorter, which would only work with a younger character for me. I absolutely love the torso of LH boys, and Narin 60cm is nice all over.

For girls, again, it depends on the character. I really like the mature CP body, but the hips are a little big for my taste. I think this is where the Elfdoll mature girl body wins out. If only I could have the torso of CP, with the hips of Elfdoll. I also love the Narae 43cm body. Sweet, tender, and definitely youthful.

For posability, CPs have to be tweaked. And tweaked some more. DOC has great posability. The body itself is a little thick for a mini, but it poses wonderfully.

My only tiny experience has been with Lati Yellows. That body is amazing! It stands in virtually any position or pose you put it in. The hands and feet are tiny proportionate, unlike Leeke and other big-handed dollies.

Also, I don't have one (but I really really want one ;; ), but the original Elfdoll tinies - the Monnaemi sisters and fairy series - have the cutest itty bitty little bodies. love love love

    6. I personally like LUTS because they're so well proportioned (especially the girls, of you know what I mean...xDDD *not pervy*) and they just look so pretty without the torso joint.

    7. Well, all of my dolls so far are from Dream of Doll...eventually plan on getting a Peak's Woods Skiya someday, and maybe a SOOM R.Dimo...

But the body that I've seen and have been most impressed with is the one from Doyuma. *___* lurve that body...From the pictures anyway...XD
I was amazed that they put joints in the FEET~! And they can kneel a lot more realistically...or from what I can see from the pictures anyway....XD
I'm not big on their face molds though...And unless I find a doll who's measurements are almost identical to Doyuma's, I don't be doing a hybrid (too afraid the head won't end up looking right...sholders 2 cm wider may not seem like much, but you never know...)

But posibility isn't everything, they need to be proportional too (which it looks like Doyuma's are)...And I don't like girls with really really small busts, but I don't like the crazy huge ones either! x___x Something natural with ever-so-slight curves I suppose...
And I don't like boys with muscles....@_# Muscles = icky
      lol ^^;

    8. My favorites are Volks SD13s (both boy and girl, Pureskin and Oldskin), and Pureskin SD10s (though I have a soft spot for the oldskin girl).
I like them because they look natural with good proportions, and in Pureskin they have an even sturdier joint design plus the one touch system.

      Sera~

    9. I don't have any experience at all with the dolls physically (in terms of posing and feel and whatnot) but i do have some things to say about a few different body types from what i've seen in pictures, both here and on the companies' sites.

So far my favorite body (purely by looks) is the iplehouse girl body. but that might have everything to do with the way its been blushed;) I do really like the way the ribs look in the pictures tho.

I'm also a really big fan of the delf girl body from luts. She looks very well proportioned.

My favorite doll heads are from soom (i LOVE gena and kyrie) but i'm not so sure about the soom bodies. I haven't heard much about them... I do like how they look in the pictures tho, but not as much as the previous 2.

the first doll that i fell in love with was DOD shall... I really like the proportions of the dod girl body (i have long legs so its nice to see that on a doll) but they seem so different compared to the other 3 that i like, it doesn't seem very practical (in terms of sharing clothes and stuff) to get one of those...

    10. I personally like the large busted CP girls, such as Lishe... I know their bodies don't stand up too well without sueding, i just like their apperance.

      -Dane

    11. I just like a body who had white skin and can easily stand up for themselves..

    12. Volks SD 13 boys - normal or long legs- lovely natural proportions, sumptuous resin quality, gracious sculpture, nothing too exaggerated about them. Gorgeous hands, knees, necks, shoulderblades, hips, bums, and that endearing little half-innie bellybutton. <3 Some pose great, & some won't stand up by themselves for love nor money; stringing & fixing makes all the difference.

Volks SD16 boy & Volks SDC boy - Big-and-small versions of almost the same thing. :D I LOVE all the muscles they gave these two bodies! On SD16 I like the Action-Man exaggeration of the broad chest & shoulders, vs. the tiny waist and long legs. On SDC I like the bulging little tweener biceps & miniature pecs. But for both of them, it's all about the posing... Incredible joint-systems. Shoulder-rotator cuffs, thigh-rotation, 3-part torsos. They can practically do gymnastics.

IpleHouse boy - I like both the v2 & v3 bodies that I have. They're lightweight, well-balanced, and stand & pose very naturally. And they've both got abs you could grate cheese on, collarbones for daaaays, nipples that say Hello Sailor, & legs that just keep going and going. :drool The v2 body has the annoying popout hip-joint, but that allows him to lounge excellently. The v3 body is improved & has a rib-joint too, so he can bend just EVERYwhere, and also hold a lot of the poses without sueding. But v3 doesn't have thigh rotation anymore... I really wonder why they took it away.

Dollstown-15 boy - I don't have one, but I'd like to sleep with one every night. Amazing balance, strurdy build, joint-locks everywhere, and musculature sculpture like Whoa Daddy.

I... I just likes the big boy bodies. :aheartbea

Edit: AND I heart the One-Touch System!! I cannot worship that system enough! If only everybody would use it. Sleeve-related hand trauma, and Tight Pants Foot-Jamming Syndrome, would go the way of the dodo. ^^

    13. I've had alot of different dolls it's hard to pick my favourite body..

      1/3 size it must be Dollmore girl. It's a great poser and it's slim and lovely. My only issue is the balloon boobs ^^;

1/4 size it's so hard....I'll have to go for Unoa boy. It is so intricate in design, it has so many features I don't think I'll ever discover them all. Both mine are very loosely strung but still stand and pose perfectly. The elbow joint is genius, it barely affects the aesthetics at all.

I also very love the now discontinued Happydoll Girl Elf body. It's very tiny and slim. The posing is very fluid and she sort of slips into natural poses. She doesn't stand great because of this but I just love posing her about cos she does it so smoothly. And her mini pot belly is love.

    14. For beauty alone, I'd have to say Dollshe Hound. For poseability, the Dollmore Models all the way. This is the best posing body I have ever seen, it sort of ruins you for other dolls in that regard.

    15. I reay like Soom bodies n__n

    16. I like the DoT boys! They have the most beaaautiful torsos! *dies* And the Dollstown bodies, they have lovely details... The Dollshe hands... And actually, despite my only doll BEING a CP, I'm not terrifically fond of them, except the detail in the stomach is love. (That little line from the belly button through the middle of the rib-cage... UGH!) And the SPINE. Mmm...

I really just like all the dolls with defined features... XD The Volks dolls and the more childish ones I don't like as much--they're "softer"? I don't know how to say it. Also I don't like chubby hands.

    17. CP boy bodies are love. ^^ Though they are not the manliest bodies, I like the esthetics of it. I think it works better for most head molds. Plus, I'd kill for legs like those.

    18. I'm so new at this, and am curious to know what you think of the Obitsu bodies. All I have right now is an Obitsu head, which I painted, and is now waiting for her body.

This doll is MUCH les expensive than the dolls you all have, hee hee, so I understand it's quality will probably be less. But I wonder if the Obitsu holds up to design. The sculpt isn't as refined as the other top of the line dolls, but I have been surprised to find I was able to make quite a cute face of my Gretel head.

So, what do you all honestly think, if you've ever seen one in person? Thanks!
      Ingie

    19. I like old Sd10 boys and girls body in aesthetic perspective but it's a shame that they can't sit with stability.
