1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which kind of "fantasy type" dolls do you want the most?

Jun 26, 2014

    1. Fairies, elves and mermaids are my three favorites for fantasy bjds! I was super happy to find that Resinsoul has elf sculpts, so I've got that one covered.

    2. This is probably a strange one, but harpies! I would love to have a doll with wings, not in his/her back, but in the place of his/her arms.
Edit: And I know that centaurs are a popular fantasy type, but I wish some of them had brushable tails and flocking. There may be 1 or 2 out there, but I haven't seen them yet.

    3. I dream of one day owning a doll with 4 or more arms. And possibly one with 3 eyes.

    4. I'm not sure if this counts as fantasy, but I love mint/blue skin bjds!

    5. Soom has a doll with wing-arms called Galena! She's the only one I've seen with this feature though. :(

    6. I want a 60cm faun body for a Mr. Milu head I have, but so far I haven't found a nice body. All the ones I have seen have way too chunky legs.

    7. I know there are a few fauns out there but I'd like to see some more exaggerated sculpts for them.
I agree with an above comment with Harpies, I think that would be really cool and unique.
Not sure if it counts as fantasy but it would be cool to see some more robotic sculpts, I'm a sucker for robots.

    8. Adding another fan of harpies here! Clawed feet/hands are really cool in general. I really want to get a hoofed doll by the end of this year though. :-D

    9. I would love more robots/androids/cyborgs. Other than that, I can't really think of a "fantasy" doll type that isn't already popping up regularly from the more mainstream companies. I'd suggest dwarves, but somehow I don't think many companies would be into doing dolls with that type of aesthetic. ;)

    10. I have a sort of elf-type girl, and what I consider an alien-type girl because I have no idea what she is supposed to be, but outside of that I want something...lamb-ish? I guess. A sheep or goat girl could be fun. I do enjoy seeing how many different fantasy dolls have been created over the years, though I am usually content with admiring photos.

    11. Soom has also released two sets of tinies (Alk/Yrie and Happy/Lucky) that had wing-arms. I own an Yrie, and while she's tough to clothe (I still haven't gotten her proper clothing), I love her little wing-arms. I also have a set of Lucky (I think? the white one) wings, for a planned future mod with another doll.

There was also at least one set of MSD sculpts from Soom that had wing-arms, but unfortunately I can't recall the sculpt names. I've seen them in person, but only modded to have their wings on their backs; even that way, they were still quite lovely. And since Soom does tend to do FCE re-releases, it's quite possible to get those bodies with other head sculpts, as well as finding unmodded ones on the MP.

    12. Oh I know I've posted somewhere in this thread before but I was chatting with my dear serpentine companion Blaze (a corn snake) and thought about how I don't think I've seen any lamia/naga/snake people dolls. If there are centuars, harpies, and merfolk surely someone can manage a naga... Perhaps if no one does I can take matters into my own hands (just give me a few years to finish college and money for supplies haha)

    13. It does seem like the joints used in merfolk tails could be applied to snake-themed dolls...

    14. Sugarble has naga tails you can buy for their tinies in plenty of colors too. Or at least they did at one time.

And I know FreakStyle BJD has been working on a naga/snake doll for the last few months.

(I still want my lobster or crab doll. Just give me tiny joint pincers!)

    15. Yes, thank you! You're absolutely right, I completely forgot about the tinies and the MSDs. Yrie is sooooo cute! Alk was the other, I think?

I do believe the MSDs are Dune and Nor? They have the same wingy arms and birdy-feets. :XD:

    16. Yep, Alk and Yrie were the original ones! Happy and Lucky were a more recent release, with slightly different styling (and tails!), but still the basic "harpy" design of Alk and Yrie.

And yes, those are the ones, Dune and Nor! I wish I hadn't missed out on that pair, they're really lovely sculpts (that I don't need).

He's a ball python instead of a corn snake, but this project journal may be of interest to you. :) (I strongly considered picking up a Sugarble Naga before FairyLand Sia was released, and still might get one sometime to be the "chibi" of the same character.)

    17. Ooh thank you both. Looking at the website you can buy the tail on it's own or with a body and gift head for an extra $90 (or perhaps you get a head regardless?) so you kind of make your own in a way interesting. I already have two dolls on layaway so I can't give into my impulses... In any case I feel if I were to get a naga bjd version of Blaze I'm not sure if these sculpts would be very fitting.. But then again while I'd like to give him a regal look he is pretty clumsy... On the other hand there is one of my characters who is kind of a naga (with a few extra eyes and horns thrown on) and a more childish sculpt looks great for him but they don't have a brown tail option or tan skin bodies/heads... Yes waiting is surely best (I'll add them to the growing wishlist anyway).

    18. I agree...I haven't seen a lot of sci fi characters in the BJD world.

I think it would be interesting to see more evil fantasy characters. Like the villains...ice walkers from GOT, orcs, demons, etc... They don't all have to be cutesy.

    19. Mermaids!
I loved Asleep Eidolon's limited mermaids, especially Cordelia. All the option parts were super cool, I would have loved to own one.

    20. I'm totally in love with pretty much any type of fantasy doll! Mermaids, vampires, centaurs, etc. However, I think my absolute favourite type of fantasy doll are definitely cyclops dolls, ones with an extra eye, and any with extra limbs, really. I'm still holding out for a four armed doll in the MSD size. :sweat
