It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which tiny do you think looks most like a DOLLY? Discuss!

    1. Im a teenager too *insane laugh* But that just means i know she wont be innocent and good, and dont have to feel sorry for her ;) Youre probably lucky to have your dolls for allies lol.
I laughed out loud at the bag on the dolls head tho. Thats just priceless

    2. LOL, don't forget we old people were there once too, hee hee hee. And heck, not so long ago (seems like yesterday) and you know what? I would NEVER want to be a teen again, you have my sympathies :)

Other old people say it was the best time of their lives, but their memories suck. Hee hee hee. Sure, it's hard being responsible and all as an adult, but I gotta tell ya, even though my jobs sometimes sucked, and I had to work hard, or deal with people I wanted to throw over a bridge, I did it for the life I built. I have a hubby, 3 beautiful kids and freedom (well, I gave some of my freedom away for a hubby, true, but I do have a say in what we do in our lives :) ) So it IS worth growing up and taking on life :)

But while you're a teen, it's important to be a pain in the butt. Argue, argue and argue, it's good for you. It helps develope your frontal lobes according to my friend, LOL. (that is, the frontal lobs of your brain :: that may not have sounded right........) So tell your mom that's why you are arguing with her (but remember no means no, LOL)

    3. I recently saw a Soom Mini Gem Uyoo next to a 1/3 scale doll on flickr. From the thumbnail, I initially thought I was looking at a 1/3 scale doll next to a human. I'd have to say Mini Gem makes a great SD size for your SD.

    4. I actually spent a little while thinking about what it would be like if I had a mini-size girl and *she* had an Elfdoll tiny - in 1/3 scale, and with their mature figures, they're like an SD for a mini and a mature mini for an SD! An SD for an SD would have to be something like a 20cm mature mini, which I've never seen D= but oh well, close enough.

I've pretty much abandoned the idea, though - I would feel bad for making the doll be, well, a doll, while everyone else had lives and stuff >_>

    5. I am just dying to have a BJD be my SD's girls "doll". I want one that looks like a porcelain doll. Maybe I will just have to find a super tiny porcelain doll instead. Any ideas? I hope I am not bringing up a totally dead thread. Sorry if I did :l

oh, I better say I want a BJD doll not a porcelain since I know those are off topic.

    6. well, we really shouldn't take up a DOA thread discussing an off-topic doll (which is what a tiny porcelain doll would be - OT)......

people have used pukis as dolls for their dolls, and the scale is right, they look really cute. but a personality seems to sneak in no matter what! it's hard to think of a bjd with all their attitude and "life spark" as a doll, I know. I gave up. LOL. :chocoberry

    7. I have seen antique dolls that are quite large, so if it's ok to have a doll that's a bit oversized, then perhaps a Customhouse Bisou Ai would work? I think they have something of an old-fashioned porcelain doll look, though they are not super tiny.

I think Dollmore Banji also has a dollish look and she is a great size for scale.

Another option might be the vinyl figure that comes with a Koitsukihime book... I forget the title, but book and figure cost about $60. The figure looks like a BJD but is not articulated, but it does make a cute prop. It has plastic hair that can be changed to a wig, and it can be redressed. Still not really a doll though.

    8. I have a picture of Lua captured by Guillaume b/c she's in a bear suit and he thinks she's his stuffed toy

Pukis don't make good dolls for others. They bite. Hard.

    9. Banji's are my best bet for now. I do love Ai's but I think they look too babyish. Although I love (Ai) their adorable outfits. Pukis are adorable but they do not have the right "look" for me. I want a sort of Antique looking doll. I think with the right outfit and faceup a Banji would be perfect.
Reinedelaseine- your dolls are so adorable. I love the open mouth on your boy. LOL pukis bite :)

    10. There's a porcelain doll floating around for American Girl I think that might fit the bill; It's an "Accessory" so I don't know as it counts as an off topic "doll" or not, but figured I'd put that out there.

That said, I think pretty much any tiny could look like a doll in comparison- I think my Mina looks very dolly, though I wouldn't use her as a doll. She's got too much of her own personality.

    11. Could be a Calvin & Hobbs situation--the onlookers see 'only a doll', while the doll's owner knows all about the personality, life, etc. of the tiny.
Not that we doll-owners would know about that.;)

Make a cute photostory, so long as you have a tiny with a strong enough sense of humor.
A bit like the "ball-jointed pig" series of photostories, which were very well done in the writing and photography both.

    12. OMG - Lua looks like she is soo p*ssed right now LOL I can almost feel her indignation....

Umm Dollies for Dollies...? I have somewhere an unfortuntae picture of a Puki upside down and magnetised to the exposed 's' hook in the wrist of one of my way-back and now-gone MSD's... looked a bit like something from a horror flick... definitely doll-like tho...

    13. They are super adorable

    14. Such a great photo. Love their pink hair

    15. I had a Dollmore Banji earlier in the hobby and she looked like a doll compared to my others. I've seen a Puki Puki used as a doll for a 1/3 size BJD, but Puki's tend to have BIG personalities despite their small size
