I wanted a Volks yo-sd for the longest time, and I finally got one about a month ago. I absolutely love her, and she is Ara's big sister. I try to dress them alike alot (Kish Bethany & Riley clothes work well, and they can sometimes be found alike). I need to get a new wig for her, though.
I just bought a Customhouse Petite Ai and I am CHARMED beyond words! What a sweet resin child! She's gorgeous and CH have done a beautiful, top shelf job with these children! I could totally imagine a bureau-full of these darlings! But....for realistic, child-like resin - nothing is more amazing and heartfelt than Dollstown's line of 5 and 7 year olds.
I love my YoSd Kuuta and also Petite Ai Gabriel and Ange Ai Hani. I agree that there is something special about Customhouse... but Yo's are special in their own way. The sculpt may mot be as realistic as customhouse, but they have so much personality! I've never heard of Dolltown... will have to do a search for it to see what you mean.
My favorite are Volks YoSDs, for their weight and poseability. My Lati Yellow SP Grown Up Laches and my Bambicrony (on the old jointed torso body) come in second... but none of them can beat the Volks dolls for posing.
i'm completely enamored with Yo's. They have such charming, adaptable faces. I have three now: Kira, Lin and Puff. They just multiply! I don't know how it happened. I love their bodies because they're so chubby. Like they have wide, chubby feet, thicker legs and a bit of a pudgy tummy. Although if you're into pudgy tummies, I believe CH Petites have the most adorable pot bellies.
OMG, I just saw the dollstown website, they are adorable! Their facial expressions are priceless. But the website is all in Korean (I think). Is there an English version?
At this time (it changes occasionally), my favorite is my Luts Honey Delf Pudding. She looks like an angel. ~ "Argent"
